Yeh movie nahi NASHA tha 🎉🎉 songs, background music, Amitabh was the most handsome, Zeenat was very adorable. Complete entertainment , but public are fools to appreciate wonderful package 😮😮

After 1978 which was best year for AB's career, this year was a bit mixed year for him. He had 2 super hits Suhaag, Mr.Natwarlal 1 hit jurmana but 3 flops as well with The great gambler, kaala patthar and manzil.

good presentation Rakesh Ji. One more main reason for flopping: there was no distinct identity or looks between two Amitabhs. (one with moustache another with clean shaven, city slicker and villager, speak different languages etc). People got confused whether they were watching Jay or Vijay as they had similar looks and behaviour.

As a child I remember seeing this film with my parents.. On that day we saw 2 films back to back.. Afternoon show we saw "The Great Gambler" n then in the evening on the same day we saw "Mr. Natwarlal".. Evergreen songs by the God of Music..

There are several reasons why The Great Gambler didn't click with the audience. It was actually a good thriller, but it went a bit normal and predictable by the midway. Hence, it didn't click much to the class audience. Another reason why It didn't do so well was because in this film Amitabh Bachchan was neither the angry young man nor was a masala hero with comic timing and was pure action and thrill which didn't appeal much to his large sector of fans. His majority of fans belong to the masses who loved him in angry youngman or masala hero roles. This was one major reason. Another major reason was obviously the English title. None of amitabh films were titled in English word hence, this didn't appeal to the majority of Indian audiences. But it gained popularity all thanks to its music and songs. Do lafzon ki hai dil ki kahaani is my favorite song. I still listen to it whenever I want to refresh my mood. Zeenat was exceptional in this, and I think she overshadowed neetu singh in this film because of glamour and songs, though neetu was a better actress. Overall, great information and narration rakesh bhai as always.

This film can be watched for music only or some extent locations where film was shoot. One of the most telented actor like Uttapal Dutt was not use properlly in fact was wasted in the film. Very disappointing about film but not say about episode. It is superhit. Thank you ❤❤❤

One of the underrated slick action thrillers of amitabh bachchan. I loved it. It's definitely a must watch for amitabh fans for once at least. Waise amjad khan ka yeh kissa pehli baar suna. Main jaanta bhi nahin tha ki unke saath aisa hua. Utpal Dutt was a great actor but not suitable for this role, audience also couldn't accept him because in the same year he did his most iconic role of Bhavani Shankar in the iconic comedy Gol Maal amjad khan would have obviously been a better choice for the negative role. Anyways, nice episode. Waiting for your next episode.

हमेशा की तरह बेहतरीन episode.....राकेश जी ! 👌👌👌👌👍👍 मुझे तो ये फ़िल्म ठीक ही लगी थी ! शक्ति दा की मेहनत भी साफ नजर आती है ! फिर भी पता नहीं क्यूँ इसे अच्छा response नहीं मिला ! आज तक भी ये सिर्फ RD के music की वजह से ही याद की जाती है ! इसलिए इसका title "The Great Music Album" होना चाहिए !

I loved your presentation Rakesh ji ❤❤it was a thriller and that time maybe people didnot get the genre but in time it became a great movie,do lafzo ki,aur tera kiya naam hai with title music is catching and good to listen to .Amit sir had such a screen presence and 2 heroines ,neetu mam and zeenat mam dono sultry and pretty kash Amjad sir ka accident nahi hota woh rehata villain aur movie would have been better received but its just a thought...thank you Rakesh ji 🙏 for your lovely work ...naman 👏👏🙏

राकेश जी, आपसे अनुरोध है ऐसी बंडल मूवीज पर आधारित एपिसोड बनाकर अपना और दर्शकों का समय ख़राब करने से क्या फायदा है। बेहतर होगा आप परदे के पीछे काम करने वाले कलाकारों पर आधारित एपिसोड बनाएं जिनके बारे में दर्शक ज्यादा कुछ नहीं जानते लेकिन इनके काम के बिना फिल्म निर्माण सम्भव ही नहीं है।

राकेश जी, सप्रेम 🙏🙏 नमस्कार आपके द्वारा बयान की गई 1979 की फिल्म द ग्रेट गैम्बलर के कुछ अनसुने किस्से सुने ,। मेरे विचार से द‌ ग्रेट गैम्बलर कुछ अपरिहार्य कारणों से बहुत ही देर से रिलीज हुई थी ,तब हमने ये पढ़ा था कि इसकी शूटिंग की काफी महत्वपूर्ण रीलें समंदर में डूब गई थी और वो हिस्सा फिर से शूट करने में बहुत समय बर्बाद हुआ था इस‌ कथन‌ में कितनी सच्चाई है इस पर‌ प्रकाश डालने की कृपा करें। एक और भी तर्क पूर्ण बात ये है कि जब फिल्म रिलीज हुई तब शक्ति‌ सामंत का दौर लगभग समाप्ति पर था‌ राजेश खन्ना का स्टारडम समाप्त होते ही शक्ति दा भी मंद हो गये थे इस फिल्म के बाद रिलीज हुई अमिताभ की अन्य फिल्म बरसात की एक रात भी धराशायी हो गई थी राजेश खन्ना की फिल्म आवाज भी भी दब कर रह गई थी। वैसे आपका कथन‌ सही है कि जूनियर बर्मन का संगीत ही फिल्म को कुछ हद तक बचा सका था फिल्म यदि दो तीन साल पहले रिलीज होती तो‌ शायद इससे कुछ बेहतर चल सकती थी मेरा‌ ऐसा विचार हैं। बाकी आपका अंदाज ए बयां हमेशा की तरह‌ बहुत शानदार है।आप भविष्य में भी इसी‌ प्रकार फिल्मों की अनसुनी बातें अपने‌ अंदाज में बयान करतें रहें यही हमारी कामना है। धन्यवाद 🙏🙏🙏🙏 कुलविंदर सिंह रखराज
