Like a glove!! Weigh the anchor!! How much does it way I don't know I forgot!! You got to be a head to recognize the humor in that!! It all makes sense now!!🙉🙈🙊
When you showed us the tomato plant I immediately thought about the movie Water World with Kevin Costner holding that little plant on his sailing ship.
Re: Your windlass, you should really tie in a nylon line "stopper" into the chain and to a bow cleat, to provide a shock reducing stretch, as well as to keep the strain off your electric windlass while at anchor for long periods.
I think that ratcheting lever that seemed to be keeping the chain from going into storage is _supposed_ to take the strain off the winch. Personally I agree with you on using a line (or 2) to do it, similar to an anchor bridle on a cat.
Marty, when you eventually start coming up the east coast of Florida on the ICW I recommend stopping for a few days in New Smyrna Beach/ponce Inlet. Just south of Daytona. Perfect fishing areas and I can bring you a few cases of beer. Cheer mate
Great job backing in on one motor. Check your windlass arm and chain stripper. It looked like the arm wasn’t against the gypsy. It keeps the chain from binding up like that. I’ll definitely be stopping at that anchorage and tiki bar when we go through there in a few years!
Wow Marty, I was moving too - from Historic Uptown to Historic Kenwood St. Pete. Just catching up - those are some Beautiful cinematic aerials you captured - Wow!
As much as it will coast you a bundle to repair/replace that engine. I am looking forward to you showing all of us how the process is done. Standing by Captain Z!
Marty, the boat _wanted_ into that slip it slid in so smoothly! Couldn't even tell you only had the port side operating. Who knows when K.T.3 will be up on the hard again (not for a while hopefully!) time to wash her bottom while you have the chance!
I owned an old 32 wellcraft coastal that, until I repowered, came into my slip on one engine every time. Lol. When I got two good engines I could hardly maneuver. Enjoying the videos, Marty. Good luck on you journey.
Don't look at it like you have to be hard to port to spin the boat in forward. Back to starboard to point the bow if conditions allow. Nice landing Captain. It's a bummer the loop doesn't include the Cape Cod Canal. I'd be proud to give you an escort through.
Crappy timing by that pontoon boat but you handled the situation like a professional. They could have either stopped or sped up a little so you weren't sitting there drifting..... But oh well they did neither and it worked out just fine 😆 Thanks as always for bringing us along for part of the journey!
Great update Guys! Nice bit of parking/mooring Marty - your mum was right as always! You're probably glad for a change of scenery, and I'm sure the Pups will like the easier access to Terra Firma with some great space to run! Looking forward to the next one from you guys - stay safe & well. 👍👍
I’m sure it’s the same feeling I get when I’m backing my semi into a tight driveway to deliver stone and I make it in there in one shot or maybe one pull up. It makes you believe in yourself. Nice Job Marty
Marty, you have to start praciticing all types of emergency steering while your out there. practice makes perfect. the place that your going in you should have used aliitle more thrust to push mor water over your rudders for sterring. if you loose that amount your sterring is gone.
It would be nice if you posted a quick map at the beginning of your videos with a rough idea as to where you’re at and where your going for each video. I’m not from around there and always find myself going to google maps to try and follow along. Great videos. Thank you.
Marty, you should grab the footage from 0:46 and the surrounding footage that was edited, put it to the same music and use it for while people are waiting for your live streams to begin. You have to have at least a minute that could be looped. Its a beautiful shot and a good one, Hell, you could make into a extended loop relaxation video people could watch.
Hey Marty you may want to take over the "Live at 5". Not sure if Mike had too much to drink the other day, but his choice of "JOKES" are questionable. Please remember that some of your audience is in the younger age group. If you put yourself out there you could be a role model to our young....potential Captains who are also interested in your trip. Thanks man!
1.6k people are liking this video and 17 people hate their life and are mad at the world because they've failed at life hahahaha. KEEP MAKING THIS CONTENT,i love it thanks.
Hey Marty! I think I know where you got your inspiration. I just watched the movie Kon Tiki. You kinda favor the dude Thor if you don't mind my saying so.
Forgive my not knowing anything about boat engines but my mind cant quite grasp why a boat with 1 engine is so much more difficult to drive considering both props are close to each other and rudder is between them. How is that different from boat where prop is in the middle with respect to boating? I always assumed that multiple motors are used to push forward to accelerate and at low speeds somewhat an overkill?! Is it really that impactful to lose a motor on a multi motor boat?
It is easy to explain. Next time you’re in the grocery store push the cart around with left hand from the left side. You’ll see real quick. In water the boat will slip along the path of least resistance, and drag will affect steering. Tom
