Travel Day 5 we travel from Grand Harbor Marina in Counce TN to Clifton Marina in Clifton TN We go through Pickwick Lock and pass beautiful scenery and tows along the way. In researching videos about traveling on the TN River I came across your channel. We are the Carver in this video (5) that went through the Pickwick Lock with you. Saw you again at Paris Landing. Great information on your videos. Keep up the good work and safe travels.

@@FreebirdonTheGreatLoop We did. That is our home port. We are now planning a fall trip to Knoxville the end of September and into October with enough time to get back to GTB to winterize. Any suggestions for quiet anchorages along the way? When you went into Clifton Marina, we went a little further north and anchored in Beech Creek and loved it. We are also looking for a some good marinas. Doing our homework now. Grateful for any tips.

@@3StrandsII There are so many nice anchorages on that trip it would be hard to list them all. Behind Goat Island In Alabama is really nice for sunsets. You will find many anchorages in Tennessee. Our home Marina is Island Cove just north of Chattanooga. You can stay for free with no electric in Guntersville at the City Docks. Nice Restaurants there. In Watts Bar Lake we like Terrace View Marina and Tennessee National Marina . We did a series of videos on travelling up the river through all of this area that you can watch to help plan your trip. Will be a beautiful trip!

@@3StrandsII Your welcome. Feel free to ask us as you plan. I think our videos will show you which anchorages and Marinas we stop at. We have been up that way 5 times now. It is really beautiful in Watts Bar Lake. Mountains in the background!

You can see a lot of that on The Tennessee River! We love the scenery.

When I first started boating in salt water, intercostal waterways and channels, I worried so much about the channel markers and usually over thought the situation. Bottom line, the chartplotters are awesome, so use them. If you look, the markers are always shown. I made sure that my chart plotters were current with updates through the sd card. I never worried about it again and the plotters never let me down. Just my experience when I started boating there. All my experience before was in lakes and I never really had to worry about depths because my boats were small enough to not matter. Great video as usual. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Thanks for commenting. We use both the boats electronics and Navionics on my ipad. We have seen many areas the markers are missing especially on the rivers due to them being dragged away or even in a new spot by floating trees. You have to keep an eye out for that, so we use the sailing line as a good guide of where to be in that situation.
