Antivegans have consistantly moved the goal post since I went vegan. First they said "veganism can't be done" Then I went vegan. Then they said "you will be deficient in a couple of years" So I did bloodwork, which came back fine. Then they said "You can't get enough protein on a vegan diet" So I tracked my macros and came out with 140 grams of protein/day without trying. Then they said "The protein in plants is inferior and you can't build muscle on it" So I worked out for about 8 months and increased my strength and my body weight went up 8 kilos. Then they said to "veganism can't be done longterm" So I asked them to specify longterm. Now, after having been vegan for 8 years, they say "not all people can be vegan, and most people quit veganism". And I personally know about 15 vegans or so, and not a single one is unhealthy or ex-vegan. I'm sick of these excuses and false statements!

I can add to that. My niece went vegan, ended up in hospital anemic and very ill. I went vegan, ended up with iron transfusions (twice) and told not to be one as I don't absorb plant protein. I work for doctors and trust me, there are deficient vegans. You said you ate 140grams of protein but the DIAAS says unless you ate soy, those were not 'digested and absorbed' complete proteins. You can't thrive on a vegan diet if you are pregnant and menstruating and so on unless you supplement, and some people who are genetically prone to deficiency in ALA conversion can have eye problems from their diet. We might be fortunate to have a load more supplements now, but if you only ate vegan and didn't supplement with fancy oils and B12 and so on you would be ill. Many vegans go carnivore to 'fix' their malnourished bodies. Are you calling them all liars? I don't care - I am a healthy omnivore - but just because N = 1 doesn't indicate everyone should eat a certain way. We are genetically different. I do not absorb plant iron very well - my haematologist told me not to be vegan. Young fit men who are vegan can go a bit longer than menstruating childbearing women. There are people for whom a purely plant diet is very detrimental to their health. I hate the cult mentality. eat what you want but if you don't thrive no one should tell you that you 'failed' that diet. You may want to read this for example "Plant-based pregnancy: Experts spotlight supplementation to offset vegan diet deficiencies"

And the strongest vegan powerlifter of all, Noah Hannibal, is an animal rights campaigner who has even broken into farms and slaughterhouses to publicise what happens in them. The only reason he started lifting weights was to show everyone that vegans can put on muscle. His powerlifting is part of his activism. Well done for being wiser than your son. This is the grand delusion, people are generally incapable of discerning from what's reality and fiction because if they see or hear something they don't like (left/right wing, etc.), it automatically makes everything they're saying untrue or "this is how they are" - which is the entire point of the " 2 choices", to create labels and divide us from our neighbors - when in reality we have more in common than not. Anyway, I have a lot more to say but it's RU-vid, no one reads more than a sentence anymore.

These are the people that have such rare and unique human physiology that they cannot be vegan at all, cannot take supplements, and must consume animal products to resolve their health issues. But instead, the suffers of MMCS most make RU-vid channels and torture us all with their crackpot content. Keep up the good work, Mic!

I honestly think that a big factor is that they switch cause & effect. Their animal product consumption raises inflammation, which in turn creates new sensitivities to various grains, potatoes, and other plants. They keep cutting out plant foods, but that doesn't get to the cause. For me, after I gave up animal products, I gradually was able to re-introduce a bunch of foods I'd developed strong sensitivities to. Only one I haven't been able to re-introduce yet is wheat. So I remained mostly plant-based while trying to figure out the teeth and calcium + phosphorous problems. I've gradually become completely plant-based while using supplements as it wasn't realistic to get these nutrients from plant-based foods. Although I take lots of supplements, I'm confident my body gets all that it needs, while plant-based diet makes me happy, reduces my visceral fat and gives me a more healthy look, it also allowed me to go completely whole food and minimal heat cooking. I also lowered my LDL even though I'm on seroquel which raises it and causes heart problems. I have been vegan for about 8 years now and recently learned that creatine as a supplement is especially beneficial for those of us who do not eat meat. Mostly having to do with enhanced muscle mass when using resistance training. Humans do generate creatine from other types of food, however supplementing with creatine helps compensate for the fact that we don't get the dietary creatine that is found in meat. That doesn't mean a plant-based diet is not as good however. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages and supplemental creatine is inexpensive and easy to take.

To me, the regenerative argument only holds true (or partially true) if the number of cattle are 1) sharply reduced, and 2) other plant based agricultural methods are used in conjunction with the cattle- based methods (like having the cattle moved around frequently to prevent overgrazing and damaging the soil). In other words, for "regenerative " livestock methods to even partially reduce greenhouse emissions it still necessitates drastically reducing beef consumption by reducing the number of cattle raised for slaughter (or for dairy use). So at best it isn't as simple or as easy or as elegant as transitioning to a vegan/plant based food system, or as effective .

Turns out I gained 35 pounds of muscle mass and shot up to 192 pounds in about 3 months of healthy living. Did i miss the meats? Not at all. Did I miss he cheeses? Nope. Did I miss the alcohol... again, not at all! As a matter of fact, I enjoy great foods without meats (so much great recipes to do as Vegan!). And I just feel fine :) So, eat meats if you want to, but don't BS me with the idea that it is a bad thing not to have any... Cheers! ;)

Ellen White, who SDA's (I was raised SDA) claim is a prophet, couldn't get consistent with a number of things that the claimed. Dietary practice is one example. Eat meat ok but also wrote to not eat meat. Her influence on the food pyramid is not that large but also the food pyramid includes all the things that people eat and EGW speaks to the things that people eat too ( meat, dairy, fish, eggs, grains, fruit, veg). Would this mean that since some fast food places have salads and I tell you to eat a salad for your health that I was inspired or influenced by big Fast Food?

I've been vegan for 10 years now and in the last couple of years I've been feeling so tired and borderline sick, but I know it's not my diet because a) I felt 10 times worse before I was vegan b) I tried going back to eating meat and eggs all bought from a butcher shop who only sold locally farmed meat and that didn't make me feel any better (It didn't make me feel worse but also no better) And c) Even when I was broke living off the food bank and underweight I still felt better than I do now. So honestly I think stress and burnout could be the culprit for many of these people who suddenly feel ill or that they're missing something from their diet. I believe the reason I feel sick is that I just don't eat enough calories, I just struggle to get enough food in me every day and some days hardly eat a thing. But this channel is a huge motivator to keep eating healthy and not back down!

You may need to go to a doctor. Loss of appetite is a serious medical symptom.

@@Fire-born I and my children were vegans for a long time too .....my son story he was only 7 yrs old after the couple of yrs he started getting really sick he was always skinny to this day . I cooked healthy meals as a vegan diet made many food homemade we never ate garbage from outside even when we where not vegans He began pale bloated constipated nauseous fatigue was seen by many Doctors GI specialist infectious couldn't find the problem. After being vegan he develop Hives and was allergic to certain food after leaving the vegan diet it completely mess up his gut doctors could not find the course of why my boy was so sick. We took our Vitamins 12 . So I had no choice to return to the regular diet . My son was too pale when he was vegan after a while it started showing. To make the story short he is doing much better ..... people don't understand I will do for my children even if I have to feed my child grass Fed meat and organic food eggs grass pasture raised only organic vegetables..... I will not let my child die because of this They think that because u eating meat u don't love animals that is not true because I have a cat and dogs. But my son comes first ....what would u do . My answer to u just eat right make your own food everything grass fed and organic do exercise. Eat a balance meal with all good stuff on your plate veggies too fresh vegetables. Hope u feel better and find the course of your problem. My son is doing better. But unfortunately the Hives for certain food allergies will probably stay due to changing his diet as a little boy who was growing.

@@aliciacarmona5004 That reads like an advert writing by the Masters of Beef Advocacy organisation. We tend not to believe them on vegan channels. Which vegan nutritionalist did you speak to? Tell us, how are Fire is going to afford organic, & grass fed meat ... if they are living off Food Banks?

Some people are just clinically prone to depression, & although I agree being whole food vegan lightens the symptoms, sometimes it's environmental, sometimes it's social, sometimes it's genes. Certainly, being broke & not eating isn't going to help. Sounds like you need to make radical changes in your lifestyle beyond just diet to work out which it is.

@@jonahwhale9047 there is no nutritionist I was vegan did everything on my own I know how to cook learn from my mother who lived to 89 almost 90 the next month in good health no illness passed away last year in her sleep. My grandma lived 100 yrs old no illness . So it doesn't matter what diet. So all our genetics it all depends on that lot of people in my family lived a long life. It's genetic I say it again.

If you go plant based you have to eat real food, not all the mystery processed 'plant based' stuff on supermarket shelves and you have to abandon desserts. Major on whole grains, vegetables, beans, pulses and fruit in that order. How hard is that? It is just not exciting for the appetite. That means a hard choice between what is right and what is pleasurable.

Not exiting? Definitely would prefer a bowl with tofu/tempeh/seitan, beans/lentils/chickpeas, whole grain rice, veggies, different spices and herbs, instead of donuts, high processed “vegan meat” or McDonalds. If I actually crave for something sweet, I’ll just cook some millet and add a diced apple (only source of sugar) and cinnamon to it. 😂

you don't have to abandon desserts, just don't go overboard eating a whole packet of oreos everyday but if you have some health issues and need to keep inflammation on the minimum, then you need to choose healthier desserts like dipping fruits in a melted dark chocolate or unprocessed peanut butter etc.
