I usually don't like to listen to people cover Vince Guaraldi because they can never duplicate his very unique phrasing, but I like this one. You made it your own while still keeping the feel of the original.
Thank you! That was beautiful. While listening, I had the thought: Heaven is not a place you go, IF you have been good. Heaven is the ability to find the good ALL around you... ALL the time. I wish you many blessings. You are the good. Amen and God Bless
You're very welcome, Keith😉. You're an outstanding and skillful piano player🎹. I find you'll be an instrumental prodigy in the music world in the future, so keep conducting your musical accomplishments🎶. One day you'll be a renowned keyboardist who will join the likes of Vince Guaraldi and Oscar Peterson (May they RIP), and I wouldn't kid you any🖖.
Perfect. Very moving. Evocative and nostalgic. The sadness of looking back on one's childhood and recognizing the loss of innocence and how hard it was to grow up.
That was pure sweetness! What better way to start off Charlie Brown season with a Vince Guaraldi Trio tune? Excellent rendition! Thanks from 6 years in the future from your original post.
Man, you got one cool dad. Hope you can come back to this video later in your life and appreciate it. Thanks, for reminding me of the beautiful memories of watching Charlie Brown with my dad.
I almost stopped listening because the intro was a bit long, but once you got into the most beloved part of the song, it was wonderful. This is such a HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL song. I just love it. Great job, man.
LOVE IT! I usual play the 2 Hour Looping of this song through my Bluetooth speakers on my porch for the Tricks or Treaters every Halloween. Well Done! A Safe and Happy Halloween to you and your family! 🎃
Fantastic rendition of a classic! I read your bio and I saw your comment that you are not a professional. I beg to differ, in my estimation you're every bit as professional as anyone else. I've been playing drums for over 44 years and teach out of my home. I took 7 years of private lessons so I can read and write drum charts. As for your stage fright, believe me when I say we all deal with that regardless of how long we've been playing live shows. The best advice I can offer is this, once you start playing, just keep going. Mistakes are made by everyone, so forget them just as quickly as they happen and move on. Keep up the great work, look forward to more of your videos!
Shout out to the RU-vid algorithm for showing your amazing cover to me in June. Makes me nostalgic for Halloween time last year with my then not-quite-one-year old daughter. She loves listening to this record and trying to say "punken."
Wow this took me back. I googled "Thanksgiving songs" and one of the few songs out there. Plus this one is a real gem, an amazing interpretation, thank you Mr. Sheppard!
Love it. I’m a huge Vince Guaraldi fan and don’t usually like covers, but yours is the exception. Well done. I will be listening to your beautiful rendition of this classic more than once.
Love this!! Reminds me of the Kenny Drew version. You summed up the whole feeling of what that song is right there! Thanks for sharing your amazing talent!
Masterful! I love that you stayed mostly in the lower and mid registers which brings out the richness of the chord changes and seems to fit your personality as a pianist - "singing your song" by way of this particular instrument. I think maybe that's what all great musicians attempt to do. You succeeded immensely here!!!
