I don't know which one is worse. The general who said "Aim for their eyes!" when the monster are literally 200+ meter away or the crane corps attack by doing backflips and poke at the endless wave of monsters, risking their own lives and probably succeeding in only killing one .

The weirdest part is the weirdly heroic music at the Crane Corps incredibly ineffective and unneccessary acrobatic performance into being eaten.

The Crane Corps must be one of the least efficient defence tactics I've ever seen. It's even worse than sending your best cavalry out in the dark against a horde of undead.

I just realized, the monsters swarm towards a crane corps member whenever she's close to them. Which allows soldiers to focus fire onto a large group of them. They're not actually meant to kill anything. I mean if they do, sure, good. But they're probably meant to draw attention.

The funniest thing about the inefficiency of the crane corps is that since this is a movie the director could've made them really cool and efficient but just chose not to. You know you’re sick as hell when one of your main lines of defence is bungee jumping.

The monsters come to the wall to farm Crane Corps and level up faster.

I love how later in the same film a more effective method of dislodging the monsters from the wall - extending saw blades - is used. No loss of life, no gaudy blue getup, no training needed. Just some guys to turn a gear.

Some nice area of effect explosives! Damage the land and the enemy, making it harder for them to advance! What's next?" General: "So, then we'll have our guys in red armor shoot arrows at them. Like a lot of guys. A whole army's worth! And even more arrows! We'll even have some ballistae firing even more arrows at them!" Emperor: "Excellent! Rain death upon them, and they shall fall. What happens if they reach the wall though? General: "Oh, that's the best part of the attack. See first we take the most beautiful women of the blue armor girls..." Emperor: "Uuuh... ok?" General: "And then we have them on platforms extended out from the wall, and they are attached to ropes on giant metal hoops." Emperor: "...wait what?" General: "Then they jump off the platforms, equipped only with a spear, and they stab one of the creatures!" Emperor: "Won't the monsters just like... eat the girls? And only one or two of the monsters will get stabbed?" General: "Oh yes, absolutely! It'll be like a game where you bob snacks in front of people! Isn't that perfect?" Emperor: "For what, feeding the monsters or defending our nation?" General: "Defense of course!" Emperor: "You're fired."

The crane corps is a horrible idea, it’s literally a waste of human and it’s barely effective

Solution: make the bungee-jumpers carry lots of sugar with them, so when the monsters eat them and feed them to their queen, she gets diabetes and dies
