dont wanna ruin the experience but did you know that plastic cutting board bec youre essentially cutting into the plastic when cutting you can actually get up to a credit card worth of plastic ingested each week (i always use wood for that reason)
@@uncareid5557 well i dare you to cut your cutting board with a sharp knife about 10-20 times and see how much plastic comes off. plus the credit card thing is obviously not like standard, it all depends on how much you cut and how hard and how deep etc.
I have been making jerky for over fifty years. You do not need a dehydrator. I have air dried it, done it in a slow oven, and used a cheap and expensive dehydrator. All methods work. The guy that taught me to make it had a bunch of cup hooks screwed to the underside of his kitchen table on which he hung the meat. I remember sitting there with him and he would just reach under the table and grab one of the slices hanging there. Air drying is not a good method if you have flies about. Plus the meat drips for the first day so put a pan or paper under it. I find the fat gross so I use a lean cut like London Broil or a chuck steak. I am not totally carnivore so I marinate it overnight in vinegar and hot sauce, along with plenty of salt. Cheers!
Really nice! I think you have just solved my issue of cooking a steak every morning, making my apartment smoky in the process so I can bring it for lunch
I wasn't eating enough Calories on OMAD so I went 2MAD , Funny that wasn't a problem when I was eating the Standard American Diet Down 100 pounds in 7 months about 20 more to go .
Try rolling meat tightly in cling film, put in freezer until nice and firm, then slice with cling film on, then remove cling film afterwards! Perfect slices...
Almost Biltong, we need to South Africanise you a bit,...............biltong is better.........and we beat you at rugby, just saying 😀 keep it up mate looking great! Will try with just salt, but we hang ours to air dry we don't use a dehydrator. To store I pack mine in about 200g portions and freeze. Because there is so little moisture I just grab a bag on the way out the door and its ready to eat in a few minutes. 200g and some water and it feels like you have had a meal.
Biltong and droë wors. This is what I eats plenty of for quick meals here in SA. Just watch that you don’t add hidden msg in the form of spices. 🇿🇦great work Max👏🏻👍🏻
Love homemade jerkey! I take it with me when traveling, it can even be called a meal. I usually buy carne asada on sale so I don't have to cut it thin. I bought a nice dehydrator a few years ago and it broke right after the warrantee ended so I bought a $20 machine from Goodwill , which works just fine. Thanks for the video.
i made beefjerky in a cheap dehydrator and it went bad in a week. dont know if it wasnt dehydrated enough or if its always like that. i had a worchester applecider vinegar marinade tho
This is one of the reasons my weight loss stalls. I can't stop eating them. I also use ribeyes as they are richer in fat. I tried silverside once, not tasting as good.
I'd think the heat from the dehydrator would probably cook the beef or at least get the surface of the meat hot enough to kill bacteria, but I don't really know. Just saying you might not have to be so careful and cut away a bunch of meat.
Looks great but it seems like quite a bit of work. I love carnivore but I’m not too excited about the effort and planning involved. Especially when traveling.
I can cook 5 days worth of carnivore food in 30 minutes. Meat is everywhere civilization is. If you can tolerate dairy, you can drink 1L of heavy cream in 2 minutes and get your daily calories. Thats not good long term, but can work occasionally if on the road.
