Some of these were seen in the mid-80s on the USA Network's Cartoon Express. It would air in the mornings and evenings Mon-Fri, for an hour. Sat evenings had an hour block as well. Sun mornings, it would run for 5 hours. They ran mostly H/B shows and occasionally some Ruby-Spears shows for good measure. That was how I discovered some of these shows.

Yes , that was when Cartoon Network actually lived up to its name . Just like the SciFi Channel used to show all the old classic horror and SciFi movies . It's ridiculous how both cable channels content were much better with less advertisement ( commercials ) money during their early days than now with both attaining more advertisement money . It's truly is the saying " paying more for less " .

If no one can't see the eerie similarity of a young man raising a club and saying "Mightor" to change into a super hero character and one who raises a magic sword and says "By the power of Grayskull" to change into a super hero character with basically the same special effects, then someone is missing the Alex Toth effect on later cartoons. I wonder how he would turn out when he became an adult. I thought he might inherited the Mightor club. (Remembered Tor got the club from an old man) HB was good doing kids heroes. Considering Samson; I had to endured The Space Kiddets to watched Sansom. Ted Cassidy did the voice for several HB animated characters. Frankenstein Jr. and the Impossibles were fictional characters in "Scooby-Doo: Mask of the Blue-Falcon" & possibly SCOOB 2020, Frankenstein Jr. had a very small cameo appearence in SCOOB 2020 during the end credits, and they later appeared in Scooby-Doo: Team-Up called "Nothing is Impossible", which is pretty cool to see!

It might have been from 1970, but there was a cartoon called "Super President." The President of the USA was a superhero, which was an awesome or terrifying idea depending on how you look at it.

if you look at these 3 you can see the origins of many other cartoons in them like he-man, thunder cats, the jetsons, and many more. hanna barbara had that very reconcilable look to all of their cartoons and TV shows. back in those days there were only 13 TV channels and there was those locals stations that had the kid shows that had all the best toons. many of the toons had their cring in them but they were few compared to the rest that were what toons were meant to be, funny. from bugs bunny to tom and jerry we that grew up in the 60's thru the 80's were the luckiest kids. we got our daily dose of laughter and then we went outside and really played, grew up in the world, apart of it unlike the kids today that just grow up never knowing what it is like to go anywhere without those damn cell phone and really living, having fun, playing, and just being kids.

Mightor was literally the Hanna Barbera version of the Mighty Thor, hence the similarity in names. Marvel was pulling out of cartoons after the high quality but expensive Fantastic Four (which put basically everything to shame until the 1990s Batman Adventures), ending the Mighty Thor project. The most popular magic word superhero was Captain Marvel, with his sidekicks and family also having their own magic words.

As a kaiju fan myself, Frankenstein Jr. sounds pretty similar to a Japanese giant robot show called Johnny Sokko and his flying robot. Both shows have giant robot controlled by a young boy with some sort of communication device (Johnny Sokko used a wrist watch he spoke into) fighting other giant monsters, robots, and mad scientists.
