We got a Yamaha QuietTech last august (2021 model) with everything but it costed way more than what you are saying, it was around 12k for everything included (seatbelts, mirrors, floor mats, upgraded light package, etc) is that just a higher upgrade than the prices you are mentioning?

I have Drive 2 Elec. is there anything that i can do to stiffen up the Dash. when i hit expansion joints on the road or pot holes the dash shakes like its falling apart!

Does the ptv Yamaha comes with different speed gears as well?

The ont thing not mentioned here is that if traveling with your cart. Lots of places have restrictions on gas carts, but electric carts are allowed everywhere. These restrictions usually apply to state parks and campgrounds. Be ware.

New to your videos, could you please tell me what area are you in? Pricing varies in different areas.

couple corrections, number one regen braking and the electric parking brake are 2 separate things. regen is for service braking and the electric motor brake is only to lock the cart in place, it does not do any braking when you push on the brake pedal. number 2 is that a gas cart will not always get the same range or performance over time. wear in the carb (not applicable to EFI models), primary and secondary clutch, cables adjustments, drive belt, valve adjustment etc can effect the fuel economy and performance. third thing is that although yes the motor brakes can fail on RXVs i see way more failures that cause the brakes to not function on regular cable operated brakes that cause rollaways. other than that, pretty spot on. we find most people around here have electric due to rules about not running gas carts in the areas that allow them. i personally prefer electrics and find them way more reliable.

The quality of Yamaha carts is leaps and bounds above easy go - gas or electric. It’s like comparing a BMW to a Chevy. They ride and drive more like a car than the other two big brands.

Another point on lithium batteries is they don't like to be stored at 100%. Storing lithium batteries above 80-90% causes them to gas off and swell which prematurely kills their life expectancy. So that's another consideration in comparing them to lead acid or AGM batteries.

Gas PTV all day, not even a question. Great video.

Something to consider is if you are transporting your cart to different locations Campgrounds, golf courses, retirement communities many now have banned gas powered carts. Also spend the extra money and buy the LifePO4 batteries they last for 15 to 20 years no maintenance, and you can run them to 0% and no damage occurs, compared to Lead Acid Batteries.

Just as an FYI, in Arizona, 48 volt lead acid batteries only last about 4 years due to the heat being so hard on them. You have to water the batteries with distilled water about once a month. Wear only clothes you don't care about when you do it! Also, think about getting a rubberized pad for underneath your cart because if you miss, the water will go on your garage floor and discolor it. As of 2024, the cost to replace lead acid batteries in a EZGO golf cart is $1,800.

What is considered as a lot of hours or miles on a Yamaha quiet tech 2019? I’m going to look at a Yamaha quiet tech. The gentleman tells me it has 1400hrs or 1400 miles on golf cart please help

We use our carts for neighborhood and for my sons golf matches. Electric doesn’t cut it. Where we use it so much the batteries just don’t last. Just bought a gas Club Car and couldn’t be happier. No more worries on the golf course where we have ended up walking because the batteries went dead.

For the ones that don't want to stick around for 23 minutes. Heres a 11/2 minute rebuttal. First thing first. Everyone says electric is torquey but don't let that deceive you. Though they kick they are extraordinarily slow. They can be modified but since they are controlled Via ECU they can easily have speed limiters programed into them. Gas on the other hand require a transmission modification to do this. And just because gas carts are cheap. Doesn't mean the transmission is too Another misconception is that gas engines are hard to maintain and it's quite the opposite. Acid batteries are not only expensive they are Extremely Fucking Heavy. Just 1 12V is 64 lbs. And commonly with EV carts they have 4/5 which is about 370-410 lbs additionally added. Whilst most single-cylinders are around 170-200 lbs and can be lighter with light weight performance parts. Which also improve the performance of the engine Plus the design has been around for decades. There are so many super obtainable engines and parts for gas carts that cost half the price. And finally the biggest of them all is with a 6 gallon tank for a gas cart can last for months before refuel. And EV's need a refill everyday. Let that sink in.

A few corrections I would like to make. Re: Electrics Lithium has definitely been tested and proven viable as a replacement to gas. They have been in vehicles (Full EV) since 2010. You can find those still running with original batteries 12 years later. Pro Grade tools have used them for about the same time. Mac Tools, Snap On , Dewalt etc etc If they weren’t meeting the grade, people would not be depending on them. Indy cars are going electric as are fleet delivery vehicles. Here are some of the benefits of Lithium that you either didn’t mention or glazed over a bit. Lithium batteries get 5000 cycles vs Lead Acids 500-1000 this means they will last 5x longer , not twice as long. Lithiums double your range for direct replacements. 70 miles on a charge. Lithium’s can be discharged down to 10-20% vs Lead acids 50-55% Lithium batteries offer full power for the duration of the cycle, unlike Lead which start losing performance as soon as they start discharging Lithiums weigh about 20% of a Lead acid which increases the speed of and the payload capacity of your Golf cart Lithiums do NOT have to be kept on a charger when not in use. It will not damage the battery like a lead acid will. Lithiums charge much much faster than lead acid Now on to advantages for electric in general . If you are taking it to campgrounds. Charging them is free at your site Many campgrounds don’t allow Gasser carts They make almost no noise You can overvolt and replace the controller of an electric golf cart to get that 30-40 mph. Very easy Electric golf carts have instant torque and reach max power output immediately where as gassers make power as they move through the rpm band. So, short burst spot hopping is faster Most of the other stuff you said is true, a Gasser where possible is still the better choice. But the disparity is not as large as you mentioned.

What about cost to charge over time? Not mentioned in any videos i've watched.

A good thing to mention with bigger wheels and a gear swap you dont have as much torque to go up hills tow a cart or haul 4 ppl up a grade

I have a 2020 quiet tech drive 2. When it’s running you’d swear it’s battery, it isn’t loud at all. I’d rather a gas over battery any day. My cousin has battery can’t tell you how many times she ran out of juice when driving on the road

I’ll stick with my quiet tech gas. I had a battery cart previously but I’d run out of juice in a long day of golf.

Newer 48 volt electric models have gel sealed batteries . (lithium is also an option, but super expensive ) No water and maintenance, Ever . Can last up to 7 years , Have a range of about 40 miles . Charge in about 7 hours . And modern ones have digital speedometers that show the charge level so no surprises..Sure , they don’t have the range of a gas but they are getting better .

Can these be licensed for city street use?

I have worked on golf carts for 30 years.I was a gas man but now from what I know I would buy electric. Why, because servicing a Yamaha is a bitch. Just to get to the oil drain plug u have to drop the silencing pad. Engineers engineer techs fix it!! Go lithum and forget the hassle of lead acid .Its 1920s technology!! Also now during the covid its hard to get parts for any Yamaha. And lets not forget about the Yamaha drive. Putting a braking system in a rear end, yea right!!

Put a solar panel on an electric ezgo pos. Always charged. Light use, though.

Electric cart with lithium batteries for me. Gas carts are smelly and generally noisier. The backdraft of the exhaust can give you a headache.

I have never seen a lithium bat cost 2,500 bucks. I have priced a ezgo pack at 1800 tops.

My 2019 club car gets 200 miles on one charge and runs up to 50 miles per hour. I have 22" tires and 6 to 1 gears.

If the brake fails, the cart locks up. It cannot fail and keep rolling.

This is a biased review. However, the torque on an RXV is superior to any gas cart QuietTech included.

#1. None of the maintenance if it is a LITHIUM battery. #2. Many areas will NOT ALLOW gas carts so HUGE negatives there
