Merv was hurt. He's lost so many semi finals and finals he should have won and i have huge sympathy for him but a 135 to take out the tournament from 9-2 down was fully deserving of a huge celebration from Wade.
Everyone seems to think King's being a sore loser but I think his reaction is more disbelief at what Wade's achieved rather than disgust towards the celebration
I agree. James is not doing something out of the ordinary celebrating. Nothing Merv could object to. He just could not believe he just lost after a 9-2 lead. He does not look irritated or anything.
By Wade's reaction, King says something "not nice" (i.e. no need to rub it in xxxx) at 18:47. Merv is just so sore at being so far ahead a fluffing potential match darts. I do feel for him :)
Scott Waites’ comeback against Wade in the Grand Slam is surely the best comeback in PDC history. If you count the BDO then the 2007 final was one of the best too
Agree. Waites had to play well to win that match whereas Wade averaged just 91.39 to win here. This match had more to do with Mervyn King flopping than any James Wade brilliance. Both players played well in the semis though.
@@anthonymatute6057That was a brilliant comeback. Perhaps Bristow v Wilson in 1989 as well, as Bristow proper had the yips by then but showed big bollocks at the right time to make a match of it.
Call Merv a sore loser if you want to. I'm a big fan of Wade but some of you seem to forget what King said in Wade's interview after. King's reaction at the end was more disbelief if anything and I think he just needed a few moments to gather himself.
Might be. Other candidates would be Lewis vs. Wade in the semi-finals of the World Championship 2011 (?) or van Barneveld vs. Taylor at the World Championship 2007.
I know the usual way for a 135 is BULL-T15-TOPS, but I think T20-T19-D9 (60+57=117+18=135) would work as well, especially if the bullseye is a point of trouble.
It's about having more potential checkouts. If you go for bull and hit 25 you're left with 110. Then you still have triple 20 bull to finish on. If you miss triple 20 you have 115 and can't do that with 2 darts
I gotta be honest I've always liked Mervyn king, pretty good darts player and I wouldn't call him a sore loser here, it was more "how the fuck did ya do that"
So is james wade a bit over the top when it "suits him" or is mervyn a bad loser, id say both, both equally as talented but equally as annoying if things dont go theyre way
@@neil3372 People said that when Wade didn't win a major between 2014 and 2018 that he was finished, then he pops up and wins 2 in a week. You never know with Wade, he has bad spells and sudden spurts of brilliance.
@@colite19 das du dich richtig ausssprichst ! Wer soll wissen was du meinst ? Und natürlich gibts hier auch Deutsche die das gucken, schließlich haben sicher viele den PDC Channel abonniert ! Da war wohl wieder einer nur scharf auf Likes was
that wasnt better cuz it wasnt for the title. Also Aidy lewis came back 5-1 down in first to 6 sets in the worlds semi final in 2012 then won the final. so i think thats better
Merv, don’t celebrate you Great comeback to kick my Ass, 😢😂 Mate, who wouldn’t celebrate such a great win coinciding with a great finish to win it! *Arden up Merv, and suck it up*
Time he took to call *one hundred and eighty*.. in between I ironed my office dress.. became father of a kid... moved apartment.. resigned and joined the same company again.. recovered from crona virus.. and died happily
This has nothing to do with James Wade and everything to do with King being a complete bottler. In short , no its not the greatest comeback ever not by a long way
