why does Hatshepshut look like a Greek or a Roman? Kemet the land of the blacks was founded by those who came from the South to the North along the Nile River. What about Pianki Pharoah from Nubia that invaded Egypt in the 25th dynasty? Queen Tyre and Taquara from Nubia which was before the Ptolemaic dynasty and Roman colonization even before the Hyksos

@@chevalierdenoir754 Not true! They did not come from the south. . the Egyptians bear the same DNA haplo markers that modern Egyptians have today.... and they are not black. The only Black Pharaohs were those like Taharqa that had a small Dynasty in Kush more than a 1-3 thousand yrs. later , not in the beginning.. if I act, he is even mentioned in the Bible . Quit trying to promote "afrocentrism" which is not a science, just propaganda,... and stop trying to appropriate my people's / country's history! Fuethermore, natron, a chemical, used in ancient Egypt for mummification causes the unwrapped mummy skin to turn black during dehydration.. chemical reaction not race, a common misconception.. Hieroglyphics and drawings can be changed and artificially tinted before posting on internet websites and vlogs and that is also quite common now to underscore promote that agenda.

@@kjgammon1658 I DID NOT SAY EGYPTIANS ARE BLACK. But what I do know is that there has been a deliberate campaign to exclude all black involvement in this great civilization. You have no idea how many times I have had these types of conversations with Egyptians that take any sort of black involvement in their dynasty as a major offense/threat to their identity. To say I am trying to appropriate your culture is a rather radical statement because I am descended from Ghana/Nigerians which has absolutely nothing to do with Egypt. I was very specific and chose my words carefully yet you are still repelled by the mere mention of the word Nubian and Egypt in the same sentence. How can you be and they are intertwined? I honestly don't care what your position is the fact is that Egypt was clearly a meeting place for many races and cultures whether from the Levant. the Mediterranean, other parts of North Africa, and yes Kushites from Nothern Sudan. Aswan and Sugar Island in Egypt is clear evidence of this today.

People always talk about Cleopatra and Nefertiti being powerful but nobody talk about Hatsepsut and how she flourished Egypt and brought peace in Egypt, Her history is heavily neglected which is really sad.

Supposedly they did the Great Pyramids in 60 years. Very fast builders. 2490 BCE is supposedly when they finished them A thousand years from then they didn't accomplish anything greater than that. To me, that's very suspect.

there is a really great book called 'King and Goddess' by Judith Tarr. It's a historical fiction version of Hatshepsut's life and very well written, in my opinion. It's how I found out about this amazing Pharaoh.

Bruno, she would have demanded to be called queen. Pharaoh was never an official title for Ancient Egypts rulers. Additionally Pharaoh had only just begun to be used during the 18th dynasty, and wasn't widely used until the 22nd dynasty. Just an FYI, hope you enjoy the info and please feel free to verify, I learned this from the Britannica website.

Genuinely, respectable human females like Pharaoh Hatshepsut should be mainstream across society. ______________ Society needs better, more [high] sentient, respectable female role models (who experience genuine humanity as an instinct, like Pharaoh-Hatshepsut)! And the attention of [young] females should be forcedly directed there (so many are narcissistic and dumb, so they'll willfully want to direct their consciousness/attention to [sexually] degenerate role models, such as Kim Kardashian, Cardi B, and Western hypersexual feminists)!!! Why is it that the "degenerate" often get the spot-light, are readily given platforms, and not subtly, systematically being suppressed (they would also need to be prevented from ruining aspirating youth/socially-vulnerable females potential, especially introverted and intuitive ones [relatively socially-vulnerable]). They need to stop being so pathetic (most females; not including XNTJ, obviously, and a few enneagrams). At any rate, like men, being pathetic, lacking emotional resiliency and having a disregard for intelligence should [seriously] shamed in women (i.e. being pathetic, having the mind of a child, not having a genuine growth-mindset/'intent' to grow into a genuinely intelligent and competent human being, and they should grow to be especially anti-narcissit [the actual mental disorder]). This will bold well for society and female [collective] legacy. I am not only from the land where Hatshepzut visited, which is present day Somalia, but from the exact local area that welcomed her which still produces vast quantities of frankincense. We take a lot of pride in the fact that this famous and most Powerful Queen visited our land thousands of years ago and forged close cordial relationship between Ancient Egypt and Somlia. And it was Frankincence that became the strongest foundation of trade and other relations between the two sides.

If Hatshepsut died at 50 and had a 20 odd reign, it means she rose to power at 30. The numbers just don't add up. That mummy is definitely not her. She was closer to 35 when she died.

One vital thing which Queen Hatshepsut accomplished was ,she vindicated the living God by changing her religion, one can see in the AMAZING DISCOVERIES SERIES BY Pr. Walter Veith, and that is why she couldn't conclude her regime , and that's one main reason she was dethroned by her rivals and haters of the truth, most of the relics made during her reign, were destroyed.

Lovely presentation. I was fortunate enough to visit Egypt years ago. Went to Tut's tomb, Karnak and Hatseptut's temple, not to mention the fabulous Egyptian Museum in Cairo, as I recall. The fabulous mask was on display. So glad I went before the strife. If possible, spend 2weeks there, riding on the Nile, go into the Giza Pyramid and visit every site possible. Adventure of a lifetime!

@@HistoryExplained HI and thx for the reply. Go if you can. Travel light, lots of film. Research everything first so as to plan for what suits you, especially weather. Can be nice in daytime and cold at night so be prepared. Walking shoes, don't drink the water. Unless in a 1st class hotel, no ice in drinks and nothing washed in water, like lettuce. Half the people on my boat were sick and missed the tours when ship docked along the Nile. My travel agent advised me, having been there herself and I paid attention. Enjoy!!

I can't believe I missed this upload! Truly one of my favorite channels. You have great storytelling, wonderful use of images (and substitutes when you have none), and narration is done is such a professional manner. I had no idea who Hatshepsut was, but you introduce people so well. As someone with a Bachelors Degree in History and 1 year away from being a lawyer, I deeply appreciate the time you put in on these videos.

Hey, pretty interesting fact about the history of Egypt. I never imagined that in the ancient Egypt were a female pharaoh as Hatshepsut. Anyways, she made pretty great obelisks that some are still standing in Egypt.

Hatshepsut was one of the first Egyptian Pharaohs to lead a sea exploration from Egypt to China, Japan and what is now Australia. It is believed that she developed trade routes and brought Hindu and Buddhist statues to Egypt, after establishing trade venues with Punt. Proof of her navy has been discovered in underwater caves on the Ethiopian coast.

But regardless awesome video!!! Hatshepsut has always been one of my favorite pharaohs, and this was a great portrayal of her. Some Historians claim that it was the Queen Hatshepsut the ( Female Pharaoh ) that had adopted Moses , it can only be traced by checking of the contemporary time period when these two co-existed. Coz she was having lots of power and freedom which she could exercise. In Egyptian History none other queen were so prominent, yes Nefertiti was their but she didn't appeared to be a Monarch as a female Pharao as Hatshepsut.

@@michaelsistrunk7661 I've always thought it strange that thutmose lll...if it was him (it could have been amenhotep ll) for whatever reason destroyed alot of evidence of her existence...I've long suspected...that it was because..."if" she was the Pharoah's daughter who pulled baby moses from the nile...and he grew up being aware that the hebrews were his people (remember he was cared for and weaned by his own mother before being handed over to her...according to the bible) being in the royal household...and although a little older...he was also "possibly" aware of thutmose lll and amenhotep ll and they both being aware of him too...before he killed an Egyptian and fled...Hatshepsut being the ruler at the time...knowing she had no heir...and thutmose lll and amenhotep ll not being her biological children...would have chosen him (moses) to be Pharoah...and that would keep her in power as the queen mother... even though there's no evidence of any animosity...they really couldnt wait for her to get out of the way...so that they could become pharaoh and...make "their" mother the queen "the bible says he (moses) refused...choosing to be ill treated with his people...instead of enjoying temporary riches...its been said that one of the reasons her images were destroyed is because she turned against the "egyptian gods"... is it possible that she became convinced of the hebrews GOD...having associated with the hebrew women...in particular moses's mother...(you know how women can and "will" talk) and after him growing up, leaving and..coming back...causing all that trouble (you know the rest of the story) thutmose lll or amenhotep ll erased everything about them both..."BUT" as much as she was supposed to be erased...many things were not destroyed and...a lot of things concerning her has been and...are still being found...being put back together and they are telling a story...possibly the story of what they (the egyptians) didn't want us to know...that she indeed was the Pharoah's daughter who pulled that baby out of the nile...whoooo boy...now that would shake the foundations of the world of archeology!

You're the first to point out this historical fact, though i believe many would disagree simply because they have not studied the beginning of human history. These are probably the same ones who subscribe to Darwin's theory of evolution. Many do not know the real reason for Darwin's attack on the Bible. He wanted to marry his cousin Emma Wedgwood but religiosity at the time prevented him from doing so. That's why he went rogue and led humanity down the path of fake history. I hope History Explained, through its awesome work, would be able to address this issue. Truth is hard to acknowledge when one's mind is closed for whatever reason. It's interesting to note why none has been able, or bold enough, to explain why there was ZERO written record of anything prior to 2850 B.C. The year Steven Rudd pinpointed when the Tower of Babel was destroyed. Which correlated with Biblical account that it was after this destruction that new languages and new nations emerged.

Perhaps it would do you no harm by going over Steve Rudd's body of work (just google him), one who has spent his entire life, and continuing to do so to this day, literally digging up Bible stories. He is no armchair historian, unlike you, perhaps? It's easy to make a sweeping statement. Anyone can do that. E.g. i make the statement that you have absolutely zero knowledge of history. While many countries are not yet ready for a female ruler, Egypt made that happen more than 3000 years ago. Egypt stayed a super power for 2600 years continuously and never invaded a country . Went to wars only to defend itself against invaders. Great documentary, thank you for such a unique job. @@shable1436 mummy is in museum in Cairo. Depending on which way you look it she either looks very poorly OR very fit for a 3000 year old. When you look at the temple from below the ramp leading up to the ‘first floor’ there are three levels of column structure visible ‘largely intact’. When you look closely at roof/floor ( depending on which level you are at) you can see that sizeable bits have been reconstructed, using as much of the original material as possible, but with concrete or similar and steel beams. Overall, whatever loss of ‘originality’ there may be my own view is that the ‘complete frontage’ is more impressive and the building’s use comprehensible that perhaps only half that frontage in a ruined condition. Thank you for your interest. I feel something of an old ruin myself. On trip to Cairo, daughter and myself went into chephren (went into Khufu 4 years ago, so did a different pyramid this time) the following day we were due to go into the step pyramid at saqqara, but I fell onto some stone steps and got breaks in tib fib. Leg still in cast as I lie on the bed writing this. Daughter sees great humour in my downfall on steps at the step pyramid.

Kidding, but thanks for your interpretation of what you saw, that is very interesting, I think Cairo is a jungle now, and the Giza Plato is very unpredictable in terms of corruption, and I've noticed a major dip in tourism because of it, and I believe they need to fix it somehow, but nowadays politics are so crazy with nationalities that, I would rather say I'm Canadian than American and not be judged by my country of origin. Did you have any problems during your visit about this, or get harassed by locals while there?

@@shable1436 no real problems other than the injury, on a Nile cruise most of the time, visited various places including Abu simbel, main reason for returning to Egypt as got no where near last time. We were very fortunate in that last time we were in Egypt we visited Cairo with an Egyptologist. My daughter kept in contact with him and he arranged our recent visit to Cairo. We stayed the Saturday night in one of his friends house literally overlooking the Sphinx and across the plateau to the pyramids.....magic. The following day he took us to saqqara, so it was very helpful having an eqyptian speaker when we got to the hospital then he and the driver took us back to our hotel in hurgarda. About the hospital, it have the impression of cluttered and dirty. BUT their competence. Had mhe xrayed, scanned and ultra sounded ( I could have had injuries beside the leg) wanted to operate, but agreed that as we were to go home the following day agreed to put an air flight friendly cast on just to get me back to uk hospital. All in little more than two hours. Very much American hospital, but withoutamerican prices, free as I had just turned 70. If only the uk health service was like that. Joking aside British waiting times are that you can almost die if old age waiting for treatment, and just getting a doctors appointment is like trying to arrange to have lunch with Jesus Christ.

About ten years ago we were in Florida and, at a diner, a couple of oldish ladies, hearing self, wife and daughter talking asked ‘where are you from’. I replied, Leicester, and trying to be helpful, said its about 100 miles north if London. You’re from Ontario replied one of the ladies!!!!! Last year daughter was transiting USA on way to holiday on Pacific island, Dallas I think it was. She passed out at the airport (she has a chronic condition POTS). She came to with a cop standing over her. You are English , he said, don’t worry about my gun. Lovely chatting to you. Hope I’ve not bored you too much.

There is a better reason why Hatshepsut was erased 20 years after her death; her legacy was under the protection of Senenmut. When he died (20 years after her, funnily enough) someone must have found damaging correspondence between them because both had their image or name erased. The theory that Senenmut was Hatshepsut's lover and Neferura's father holds water.

I remember reading a series of kids' books about three boys who regularly travel back in time to witness historical events, and in one book, they go to Ancient Egypt to meet Thutmose III. I remember one of the boys marvels at the special treatment the boy-king receives ("He's like Michael Jordan, Elvis, and the President all rolled into one!!"), and his more well-read friend responds that Pharaohs were essentially treated as gods incarnate.
