I wanted to just give you all a brief FYI regarding the audio around 2:06:38 - 2:07:30 yeah it got copyright claimed so if you're confused on why its muted there is your answer
A 3 hour DOCUMENTARY on pizza tower is something I could’ve only dreamed of. I’m already an hour in and the pacing, writing, editing are all extremely engaging. I’ll definitely be chipping away at this thing over the next few days whenever I have time. Thank you for making this! (Edit: 2:29:02 I’m working on a video doing exactly this, it’s pretty crazy)
Pizza Tower just dropped a huge update featuring The Noise as a new playable character. He's unlocked by beating the game once and is essentially New Game+. He has enough differences in his moves that it feels like you're playing Pizza Tower for the first time all over again.
Here's something you might want to know before watching the whole video: THERES A UNHEALTHY AMOUNT OF SPONGEBOB REFERENCES IN THIS VIDEO AND I CAUGHT THEM ALL. My favorite SpongeBob reference was at the end where he made a reference to the SpongeBob training video, like it was a spot on copy but with pizza tower instead of Krabby patties lol
Great video, well researched and entertaining, the only thing I wanna point out as "criticism" is that you sometimes word sentences in very redudnant ways, a couple of times you'll say "basically you do X and basically this happens"
"you can't beat the shit out of him!" You used to be able to, though, you could hit him to get one free boss per save Random pizza tower trivia facts: "What's on the kids menu?" Would originally play on Don't Make A Sound To get mort in the game, they literally just asked The Vigilante was made out of sheer absolute boredom, lemme explain, Mcpig (main dev and artist for PT) was making a megaman 8bit deathmatch mod that added peppino, but because he was bored of drawing peppino, he drew a cheeseslime with a cowboy hat, very uniquely called cowboy cheeseslime, this idea later morphed into the vigilante (also he was meant to be playable) In gnome forest's titlecard, brick's party... mouth... thing. Is uncolored, you can see the trees from it Brick's ass is NOT reading, but his face is! Golf was originally made as a free april fools demo, but eventually it got turned into a real level in 2021 This is very well known, but noise was, for most of the game's history, meant to be playable, and he's going to be added into the game The gustavo section in pig city is actually from an old level called "kung fu", which was scrapped and merged with pig city, it's theme song even plays during it! Fake Peppino was once meant to chase you levels, this can be seen in the GOLF demo by pressing F9 Fake Peppino is probably the most changed boss, first being mr stick, then a BEE, and then when it finally became him, it was at one point meant to have a dance battle as a second phase, with the theme song being IGOTNOTIME2BOOGIEWOOGIE, a sort of fake peppino version of "aint got no time to dance" (Known in game as "Receding Hairline Celebration Party") The tiles for the chase scene were once meant for the pig city, used in a version of the level from april 2021 (which can still be accessed using the console command player_room city_1 A , though it's broken because you need to make instances visible in UTMT) All the hub secrets are actually references to old cut content, listed here: 1st Floor: The Background is unused, the cheeseslime and pepperoni goblin animations are early animation, there's an early pillar john design, an unused enemy called the Cambembert Squire, and the cheese dragon, an early first boss, from the level dragon's lair 2nd floor: The meatball and those signs are from an early oregano desert 3rd floor: As you pointed out, it's a scrapped level, however it was merged with the pig city, then scrapped, the clown was also seen in another scrapped level, seen in floor 5 4th floor: The first secret is the unused kung fu level mentioned earlier, and the 2nd secret, while not confirmed i think is from a scrapped old version of the hub world, which had a whole fleshed out world with dialogue, there you were able to purchase different items 5th floor: The 1st secret is probably also for that scrapped hub, considering how that has a laundry room, though the noise here is from an early version of freezer, where he would ride a washing machine to destroy metal blocks because he couldn't reach mach 3. The 2nd secret is the mansion level, which used to have the clown transformation Pizzascare was actually made as a halloween hard mode of pizzascape, it even resembles the old layout a little, just much bigger
Nitpick: In the video, you refer to the cows as hyperealistic when the more fitting word would be realistic, they’re drawn with the correct proprtions and for the most part colours to a real cow, but for the word hyperrealistic to fit they would have to be PNG’s of actual cows just pasted in to the game or otherwise drawn in excrutiating detail.
R.R freezerator is a banger of a level, the first time I played it I blazed through it so fast with no mistakes, I just vibed with the level. On my first attempt my sister was watching me play, she had played through the game before I did, the first 2 rooms I ran through so fast and so clean that I confidently proclaimed "omg I vibe with this level so hard, I'm just schmoving" and she responds "idk are you sure already?" I then proceeded to get all toppins, all 3 secrets and the secret treasure, finished lap 2 and finished with an S rank. On my first playthrough of the level, then I stood up pointed at my sister and said "what did I tell you!" Long story short. S ranked R.R.F with all secrets, treasure, lap 2 and toppins on my first ever playthrough of the level and my sister doubted me
Fun fact: to get mort into the game, the creators of pizza tower just asked the creator of mort the chicken if they could put mort in the game, and he said yes.
fun pizza tower secret: hidden inside peppino's hair is the release date of half life 3. gabe newell took notice of this and had him shaved. his hair is said to be sealed away at
Peddito & the Doise ACTUALLY appear in the Noise Update in the World 3 Boss Fight when you have the Noise Fight Against the Doise; and then Peddito MURDERS The Doise[He Literally becomes a Corpse in EVERY Subsequent Playthrough of Fighting the Doise[Unless You Taunt 3 Times outside of the Boss Door; Where you're able to re-fight him]
When Peppino did that pile driver, bro was actually crying. He was so angry and so done with this Pizza Head and so done with the Tower he actually started crying as he delivers the final blow against the person who was responsible of all of the pain and torture he had to go through.
2:11:00 i kind of interpret this part of CTOP as the tower trying to stop peppino from escaping with everything it can, but all that's left is the useless pizzaboy cutouts that can only delay peppino for a few miliseconds at best.
But was the comic at the end a joke, or was it seriously meaning that it never will go to switch? From what I heard, one of the devs said they are working on it
Small corrections: Floor 1 - John Gutter: 9:17 It's a reference to swedish banana pizza (banana - monkey, Sweden - banana pizza) - Pizzascape: 14:02 The oldest level is ancient from the first public demo 0 (but the most famous demo is SAGE 2019), but it's completely different from "Ancien Cheese" (if the level was not considered to be "Ancient Cheese" then he is half correct, because I don't know too many demos before SAGE 2019) - Ancient Cheese: 21:05 It has 3 tracks "Theatrical Shenanigans", "Put It On Show!!" And "A Secret Under The Debris" for secret theme in this specific level - Bloodsauce Dungeon: 23:02 It is (idk is this was sarcasm) This level has "Fire Ass" transformation. It's transformation beacause it can be cured by the priest - Pepperman: 27:02 Not only Pepperman (Timestamp for that statue 27:06) Floor 2 - Oregano Desert: 32:01 It's transformation, not an ability, tranformation called - "Fire Mouth" 32:29 The same mistake as Ancient Cheese. 4 tracks - "Oregano Mirage", "Oregano UFO", "A Grain of Bread in a Grain of Sand" and "Tribe Cheese Dance" for rain dance sound - Wasteyard: 36:52 The name of this track is "Tombstone Arizona", not "Tombstone, Arizona" 37:27 (Just a fun fact) In older demos there was an enemy that called "Ranch Shooter" that will shot in peppino and KILL HIM and turn him into ghost - Fun Farm: 39:16 It was free 40:09 Umm... Actually🤓☝️ It's your opinion, but the most relaxing is "Choosing The Toppins" - Fastfood Saloon: 42:01 They cant burst you up, only presents can do it 42:53 They also can appear in pizza slices 44:17 The "Delivery Boy" in the name of song is need to be spiced - The Vigilante: 42:02 He's attacks have a pattern on every health Floor 3 Crust Cove: 50:29 idk is this true or not 50:40 You forgot about those cheese spitters Gnome forest: 59:50 In the name of this song "yes" is with two "s" (mmm yess put the tree on my pizza) Deep-Dish 9: It's fine GOLF: It's fine The Noise: (GOTTA CONTINUE LATER)🧢 (Sorry for bad english and writing)
2:38:33 This section is actually not a difficulty spike, it’s just that the strategy you’re using to approach it is wrong. You just need to walk normally, and you will be able to jump between the speed boosts without much issue. Pretty easy to do actually, but it’s almost impossible while running. Surprised you haven’t tried it
As a diehard Pizza Tower fan, I enjoyed the video, although if I have to say anything, your pacing needs work. A piece of advice I'd give is to try and use as little words as possible and be as clear with your words as you can. You could probably lose like, 20-ish minutes from the video if you streamlined the script, there's a lot of meandering and over-explaining points. Like, when you're talking about taunting, you could easily restrict it to something like this: "Pressing Y, or Triangle for PlayStation users, makes Peppino do a taunt. While seeming like a joke at first, especially since a lot of taunts are references to stuff like Daffy Duck and Dr. Robotnik, it has a handful of uses. Taunting near an enemy causes them to instantly attack you, which seems counter-intuitive, but since some enemies give you transformations required for progression, it's a very nice quality of life feature. Getting a combo of 10 or higher also gives you a Super Taunt, pressing up and the taunt button causes a one use screen nuke useful as a panic button for keeping your combo. There's one more hidden use for it, but I'll talk more about that later." There is, absolutely, a charm to not having perfect, eloquently put sentences, but its still always good to punch up the script. I also definitely noticed some stutters and pauses in your way of speaking too, which I totally understand as someone that's not the best voiceover girl myself, but that's where editing comes in. I always try my best to speak as clear and concise as possible and edit around that kind of thing. Trust me, I get it, in the video I'm currently editing I, for some reason, said "skulls" instead of "spells" in my recording??? But again, every little cut counts, especially in longer videos, where doing that kind of thing can cut off tens of minutes. All in all, though, I enjoyed it nonetheless as a peak into a person's mind and thoughts about the game. Also a quick correction cause I have brainrot: 9:17 While it probably is a Joel reference since the creator is a known Vinesauce fan, the enemy's origin is actually based on how swedish people put bananas on their pizza. While there are some exceptions like the burgers in Golf, almost every single food-themed object is based on something pizza-adjacent.
It might come as really strange comment probably, but I still want to say it. Thank you for this video. Pizza tower is one of my favorite games, but when I have a hard time or day, I mentally don't find strength to sit and play it. And I'm glad that internet have this, almost 3 hours talk about pizza tower (and noise update!!!) that I listen while I rest or try to do something else. Its really cheers me up. Thank you, seriously, it's a great piece of media and such a great work. I wish you everything the best and wonderful, ilu.
25:32: Although Mr. Stick is mechanically similar to Moneybags, he's visually similar to Wes Weasley, a character from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog who's meant to be a parody of Phil Silvers' appearance in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World".
I don't know if I missed it in the video, or you just didn't know. But taunts have a 3th practical use. Whenever you taunt, enemies that have been stunned will instantly recover from the stun. And enemies with an attack cooldown will have the cooldown end imediatly and attack again.
The monkey enemy references that in Sweden they put bananas on pizza. It's not referencing Joel, although I think quite a few people thought of him first when seeing the enemy. Even Joel, while playing through the game thought the monkey was referencing him. I mean the helmet the enemy is wearing is reminiscent of the one that Fren is depicted with. So that interpretation is very understandable
I could beat the game before this video ends. *_TWICE._* In all seriousness though, haven’t watched that much of this yet, but so far this is a great video, and keeping this quality throughout 3 HOURS is an IMPRESSIVE feat.
That there at 1:20:25 is a can of Whoop Ass fun fact, which is a reference to SML I think as in that, Jeffy opens up a can labeled whoop ass and beats up his bully, but that’s just me. Also, when I heard the microwave sound. It made me think it was real because I was in the Kitchen
out of 5 Ws, you are immediately stuck with only 4 possible Ws for not rating them with the Level rankings, but the video exists, so 1 W, Glue Gunner mentioned, so 2 Ws, ad the comments will update as i go through
I cannot believe this. at about 2:37:10 it's the hecking file delete music from kirby triple deluxe like WHAT why and how do you find such specific songs to use in your videos and why do I know them lol
32:29: It would sound like something out of a Sonic game, but I doubt it'd be Mirage Saloon; the Pizza Tower music track sounded more like something out of Sonic Unleashed.
Correct, Oregano Mirage uses one guitar solo sample from Unleashed and some tracks even uses samples from Sonic Rush (like Crust Cove's "Come in mista DJ!")
i think this might've became my most favorite youtuber ever to make a full review on pizza tower, the jokes and references, the cultures that this youtuber gets and loves just as much as i do. really good. and plus the review is top notch great
2 practical uses for taunting you say? and starting with super taunts? I wonder... Will he miss the Parry, or the ability to make enemies immediately attack?
_My only problem with this video is the amount of times you cut out of the music sample right as the beat drops harder than my dropped combo._ (And also the missed pun on "Can of Whoop Ass") Otherwise, I give this video a P Rank. Will Lap 2 any day.
Personally, I believe that a few of the levels/boss(es) you placed in S rank should have been placed in P rank above it--particularly WAR, _Pizzaface,_ and Crumbling Tower of Pizza.
