Okay, yah all, I just made this with half lean ground beef and half ground pork‘cause that’s what I got. I used 1 tablespoons of sugar and I drizzled some molasses on the meat and used that instead of the three tablespoon of brown sugar. It wasn’t nearly as brown but plenty sweet for me! At the very end I added some cut up cabbage that I had only used half of in another recipe. It turned out great! Try it!!!
I agree it seems like a lot but this also is enough for a meal for 2. So one can of soda worth of sugar between two people isn’t going to destroy your health.
