Everyone leaves out the BEST feature of this pedal. You can set the octave to only effect certain strings/areas of the fretboard. So you can fingerpick and have your root notes have an added lower octave. I’ve been in two piece bands for years because of this pedal alone. I become bassist (you can run the octave signal out to a bass amp with this pedal), guitarist AND vocalist.
As a guitarist in a band with no bassist (at the moment), my octave pedal really fills out the sound. By no means a replacement for a bassist but an okay substitute.
When will we finally see you hook some humbuckers up to a Boss HM2 with the gain at max and making the birds in your neighbourhood fall out of the sky?? Great video btw
Never bro. You can’t tell he is avoiding it on purpose? If he gave in there would be no more comments like yours. And everyone would stop watching to see if he finally started cranking his gain and playing heavy sheet.
You didn’t even mention the poly mode, where you can set a cutoff frequency; everything below that frequency gets an octave, everything above isn’t touched. Super cool
First of all, Smoke on the Water is gonna be boring when you’re not playing it correctly. It’s 55-33-55 (AD-DG) and you play it with Distortion. Ritchie hates that riff for a reason even though he created it, BECAUSE NO ONE PLAYS IT CORRECTLY!!!
Hate to break it to you man but that's been on so many recordings, you probably couldn't even imagine. And I've been playing since the 80s and everybody and their brother that I know have one. It's not underrated it's instrumental, a must have in the arsenal 🤘
@@brianrodman1033 he actually used the OC-2, which I use a well. He used it all the way back to the Purple Rain era at least and up to the end. When Doves Cry and Let’s Go Crazy are good examples. It wasn’t super noticeable, mostly just there to give his Tele-style bridge pickup more balls.
Hey guys I've been playing a little over two years. I'm just starting to buy pedals, I have fuzz, distortion, overdrive, envelope filter, phase n flanger and a couple more. Why did the octave pedal sound like a fuzz or distortion I thought an octave did the last tone he did with different variations.
@@baabaabaa2293- I heard that pedal thinking that's my kind of distortion. I like this Boss Super Octive too. never heard of it before today. "crunchy" "Funky" thx for the heads up on the CAKE!
JAJA FUN FOR YOU. IN A REAL ROCK SONG THIS EFECT IS NOT IMPORTANT THIS ONLY WORKS A FEW SECONDS FOR BORED FUN, SO YOU WILL NEVER HEAR IT IN AN IMPORTAN SONG AND NEVER IT WILL BE FAMOUS FOR MAKING A GREAT HITS OF ALL TIMES. IS JUST WAIST OF MONEY TO BUY ONE.
