vlr Burgundy has their hands in a lot of in game events, hence by reading there events you learn a lot of spoilers for countries like England, America ect.
@@TrusteeNailDepends on the country but the target right now is to have all countries a novel's worth of reading content. Alot of them already has lots of content and the quality can really send people to tears. Its like a visual novel and HOI4 but noth are connrcted and both has to be played. Honestly this mod is insane that it literally revolutionised HOI4 gameplay.

If I remember, the first 2 years of development were expected for Vicky 2, so everything flew out the window with hoi4. that's why there's a big focus on societal reform and development
You know, the idea of a focus tree that's hidden until you explore it greatly increases RP over Strategy for the first few runs. While HoI4 is a strategy game, I feel like that slight prioritisation of RP might make the game more accessible and a bit more fun for its first few runs if it didn't show the whole focus trees when playing.
As a Tester of this mod, here are my recommendations: -Italy, Italy is very, very fun, you can go either democratic or remain Fascist, both of those paths are equally good: while being a democracy you can go as socialist, remain democratic or even reelect the fascist into power, you can play a major role in world politics (like joining either America or Japan). Remaining Fascist, on the other hand, will let you choose a more reformist kind of fascist (anything from gender equality to allowing Trade Unions and letting them play a major role in the economy) or more of a hard-line fascist and seeing how Italy slowing burins to the ground. -Germany, I will recommend you, Speer, because he has so much content and so interesting narrative with many mechanics. -Russia: There are many Russias that are incredible, ranging from wholesome to epic to very fucking cursed. More wholesome Russias: Tomsk (genuine democracy), Buryatia (idealist Leninism); More epic Russias: Vyatka (constitutional monarchy with the legitimate Romanov Heir), West Russian Revolutionary Front (Communist Junta), Chita (White army remanent with an unwilling, puppet Tsar), Magadan (Pragmatist Fascists, who can even join America's faction); More cursed Russias: Amur (Lead by the guy who is the vanilla fascist in the USSR, he leads a party of mobs inspired by Hitler), Omsk (they just want to kill Germany, nothing else), Aryan Brotherhood (they think that Slavs should become Aryans, so they start forcing themselves and the poor souls under them to speak german, and they kinda hate themselves because they are Russians, and Russians are the Untermensch in their eye) Some other cool alternatives: the USA, Göring's Germany, Kemerovo, Japan, I would also say that England has only a few years of content as of writing this, but they will have the full 10 years on July 31st, so if you gonna play next time after the 31st, then ignore everything I've said so far and play England because they are very, very awesome.
@@maelys8851 I didn't recommend Komi, because it's too overwhelming for a first Russia game in my opinion, but oh well, ISP just did a Burgundy game for the first game, the only nation that you shouldn't play as your first game.
in your on the side playthrough of Burgundy you should download the music mod and just listen to burgundian lullaby on repeat, it really helps you get into that psychopath mindset
I accidentally started war with the US through the captured pilot event chain. I thought fuck it might as well and nuked the world. I forgot to save and lost H O U R S of progress
@@ultra-papasmurf I went through the entire game only going to war with Madagascar, Western Russia, and The Slave Revolt. It was still fun though with the hundreds of events.
This mod is definitely for people that wants to read and learn the lore, not for map painters with only one goal of WC. Please for the love of god people, don't bitch and moan that you can't conquer stuff as major powers, the mod is set during a cold war and war between major powers directly is thermonuclear war. There goes my rant for no reason.
They also are very serious when they said they had kinda a goal to show that "map painting" like you can do in say Russia is usually gonna lead to more and more problems. Once you stabilize as one of the warlords into a regional power, well. All of a sudden you have a lot of shit to sort through to actually, you know, run a country.
@@TDenterpriser Goering isn't a map painter. He will inevitably collapse and take the Reich with him as it is not possible in any way to invade a nuclear power which becomes the only thing the militarists can do to save their economy built on plundering if he somehow is successful in Russia.
That is the idea behind the whole thing. Burgundy was given to Himmler after his coup attempt to keep him occupied and away from Germany proper. Lore-wise he just establashied brutal and absolute control over it by massacaring literally the entirety of northern france

Honestly the lore seems so expansive, it's kind of nutty. Would love to see more of the global plans though, really awesome to see in combination with your already great commentary.

Hey, as someone who worked on the mod, I think a game as any of the Russian warlords who can unify would make for a good video, however if you're gonna do a personal game, the U.S. has some fantastic events, and America is a wonderful time, even if it's not the best for a video
@@R3GARnator There's still tons of fun added game mechanics (such as dealing with terrorist groups as Spain and managing your black market empire as Brittany) or for each country and there's a lot of wars you can fight in (South Africa War, Russia Unification and Goering WC just to name a few. The great writing just adds a whole new layer to the experience. You should give the mod a try.

The West Russian Revolutionary Front and another communist warlord (I forgot the name) can re unite the USSR. Unfortunately, there isn't any content post unification
You can make a lot of varying USSR-equivalents. Zhukov, Bukharina, and Sablin make a reformist one, Tukhachevsky makes a militaristic one, Suslov makes the old one again, Zhdanov makes a weird pseudoscientific one, Yagoda and Kaganovich make NKVD/Stalinist dictatorial ones respectively, and Serov makes a NazBol one. I think that's all of them.
I am not familiar with the mod because I do not have HOI4. All I know is based on videos I saw. I believe that he should wait for more content for after the reunification or just reunite the union and then continue the save after an update or sth. Either way would be nice I believe.

I remember playing this mod, and there was an event line where a Japanese fishing boat had bumped into one of my cruisers. My immediate response was to declare war and launch nukes at them. You know a mods fucking great when you can end the world over shrimp
