I never was really into KOF, but it's amazing how the characters stay on the background cheering while the fight happens, or sit after a defeat. Nice detail that really adds to the game.

If just they added these features to newer KOFS but they were lazy or lack of creativity they didn't even think about remaking some other great games like Ninja Masters ! I love that game , I play with the mid boss woman forgot her name damn lol next time I play I will see her name , the combos of that game are great so cool , graphics, sounds etc...

Now imagine a Real Bout Fatal Fury Special remake ! With new graphics ! Even remaking old Samsho games AOF games ! I play an OpenBor AOF V2.4 on my PC and it s a great fan game with combos , juggling system, special moves, super moves etc... And the game has so many stages specially when you beat it and unlock free map , there are mini games as well , so many characters , the stages are long , the enemies are not the same : there are some who break free of a grab , and some that escape after two hits of basic combos so you gotta either grab them and quickly throw them preferably in the air to juggle them or jump attack then juggle etc... ! I m a Master I know lol

They also get you out of a mashing grab if you're close to them. Try grabbing your opponent in front of their team and see what happens.

Kof is the only fighting game where I would wanna master 90% of the roster, they're all so cool, also cause I played kof 97 for countless hours as kid for years

KOF 98 will probably always be my favorite on the account that the orochi saga cast has by far the coolest characters in the franchise, also as a bonus it's the only mainline KOF with the USA Sports Team, a criminally underutilized team

Well, As odd as it seems, this video came out at the exact same time Im actually watching the grand final for KoF98' Brazilian Online championship, hosted on Ninja98 YT channel. Yup, one of the best KoF ever, and it sure lives to this day!

@@igordias6881 Mano, e juro que nem foi intencional. HAShAHShASh Foi simplesmente o acaso da notificação desse vídeo ter aparecido exatamente enquanto a final rolava ao vivo. Mas que o Ninja merece, é fato. Respeito o trabalho dele de levantar a cena competitiva dos retro games.

There was a long period where I thought this was the best game of all time. Especially back when it came out, it just did so much more than Capcom's fighters were doing. I always thought should have been bigger than it was in the English speaking world (Asia & Latin countries have always been on it). When this hit the Dreamcast my friends & I played endlessly.

Another cool detail about the team mates in the background is that when you're dizzy or the enemy is grabbing you near them they jump into the stage and help you out a little, but you have to input some buttons i can't remember

I feel that comment. They should have like a 24 hour thing that shows a gamer's life. A lot of casual fans see the setup, and think that's living the dream. But then you turn to the guy's kitchen, and it's just pizza boxes and a single table. And it's not even the good kind of pizza.

If i could make an FGC show it would be about KOF in Mexico. I would show the old school players and the history of the series in Mexico, and the current gen and how the series stayed alive and evolved.

KOF98 is one of my favorites. So much so to the point I have it everywhere, from orochi saga on PSP & PS4 including ultimate match, to the port on my switch. I have the game everywhere almost, I’ll get it on my iPad and it’d still be worth it.

I think it would be cool to watch pros practice for different games in the same house till Evo. Other reality shows have constant events/drama to keep it interesting so maybe up until the big tournament we see them enter smaller tournaments, do sponsorships, charity streams etc?

Tbh, what I'd like to see in an FGC reality show is something like The Ultimate Fighter. Where you have teams of smaller competitve players and high level content creators under one coach, and the goal is winning episodic elimination, and last man standing gets an opportunity for a sponsorship or something. It'd be cool if every week it was a different fighting game so the competition would be more about the best player fundamentally and not just in particular games.

Once again Justin is discovering a KOF game lol ! Damn ! So funny when you say : "wait what ?" So funny specially when you play a game for the first time ! I remember playing KOF 98 in my neoragex on PC in 98 but I had my PC in 96 , when I figured out how to enter the Bios and stuff by myself of course I started to rise the level as my own level started to get better until I reached level 8 I play on level 8 since a long time now.

I got into KOF and SNK fighters in general because I got tired of the monotony of all the Capcom fighters. Other than Darkstalkers and Rival Schools (and their vs series), I was pretty much done with Capcom fighters. SNK fighters always had this cool anime vibe to them, especially KOF. I played Dreammatch '99 and '99 and was hooked ever since.

KOF '97 and '98 were really great. Normal Chris -- his jump CD was ridiculous and broken. I had some ridiculous combos with Chizuru too (involving cross-ups and mirror image and supers).

98 was the favourite in Mexico for a reason. It was far more polished than its predecessors and the cast was the best ever. At least imo, 98 is peak KoF and an excelent fighting game. 99 was when they went for the tag team and all sorts of weird interactions and busted shit started happening that threw fans off.

I remember the first time I bought my neoragex emulator and saw the insert coin I was like Justin : wait what ? Lol and started to search for a button that would insert a coin in the game and then I pressed the 3 button and I said finally then I looked for control options and changed the buttons then I went to system options and turned Arcade into Console and I said wow that s cool ! Etc...

KoF rules: if you have special(DM) use it in the first combo confirm..if you was in defence, do C+D to push off enemy and do damage... O.Shermie was a zoning, dont try killer combos, stay in lame play

The truth is that I never liked it that much, I prefer to play 97 xD but it still seems like one of the best games in the saga along with 2002 UM, 2000, XIII and IX.

Why is that? 97 feels weird for me, like an incomplete 98 with the lack of songs and slowdown.

@@AntonioCardenasT is that 98 is only the improved version combining 96 and 97, it has few new things, but 97 besides the story, I like more because of the arcade mode, in the end for example you fight against Orochi Iori or Leona and then the Hakkeshu before Orochi, in 98 there is only Rugal. 96 was better for that too. And maybe it doesn't have much music but the one there is is quite good, leaving aside the ambient music that gives the tournament a bit of realism.

Heavy D! Was always my favorite member of the USA Sports Team, he was the only one i actually liked and thought was cool, Lucky and Brian are lame to me, lol. KOF '98 (especially Ultimate Match) is definitely one of my favorite games in the series along with XV, XI, '02 UM, Xlll and KOF '95.
