Some songs had to be changed due to copyright blocking the video. Voodoo Child, Cum On Feel the Noize, and Life in the Fast Lane had to be muted. All AC/DC songs had to be cut entirely.
I got an idea for you blitz: for the next top Spotify rock songs list you make, keep acdc on the list, just cut out the noise and keep in the music video. It works!
@melissaperpar3408 For AC/DC, the copyright claim was listed as “audio-visual” and the the option to mute the song was disabled, so yeah. However, my dad suggested that I just have the album cover on screen instead of the music video, so I might do that in the future!

Van Halen - you really got me? You cannot be serious? Ray Davies wrote this song and performed it with his band The Kinks. Do a little bit more research next time mate
The Van Halen version is far more iconic than the original. Just like Quiet Riot’s version of Cum On Feel The Noize was more iconic than the original by Slade.

It’s about intros, like the best of the best. There were many other songs I wanted to include but the video length was too long. Video is so long I had trouble downloading it.
Those are not exactly rock intros (with the exception of WWRY & HTF). ^^ If you want well known rock intros from Queen you go with Tie Your Mother Down or I Want It All. And if you want to blow someone's mind you'd go with the intro to Ogre Battle which blows most of the songs here out of the water. 😁😁 (My personal favorite from Queen would be the intro from Death On Two Legs, but that's not exactly straight rock either 🙂)
I'd suggest Tie Your Mother Down's intro riff even before any of those suggested in the comment due to it's more powerful guitar riff while having had more exposure than any other of Queen's intro power riffs.
@@mori1bund - Yes, I agree with "Tie Your Mother Down" before any of those in the above comment. And I'd also go with "Ogre Battle" but I realize it's just not iconic enough since it had no radio or video exposure. What did and still does have some radio coverage, however, and would be my pick, is "Keep Yourself Alive," which has a very solid and catchy intro-riff, though it may not be quite iconic enough to stack up against the others in this vid, though only due to lack of exposure.

I have to say that I really enjoyed listening to these intro's! In a fair number of tunes I wouldn't care to listen to the whole tune but the intro itself is outstanding! I would add at least 3 tunes to this list: Layla, Funeral for a Friend, and the tune I consider to have the Greatest opening of all time, Bat Out of Hell. All of these have openings don't quite fit the 20 second time limit, especially "Bat" that takes several minutes and has several different themes, each great by themselves. One could also consider Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, a tune with a VERY UNIQUE opening.
I'd put 10 other Stones songs ahead of Start Me Up. Keith Richards was the intro M.a.s.t.e.r. Most people recognize "Brown Sugar" after just two notes. AND - you've gotta question any list that doesn't even mention Gimme Shelter.

American Woman - Smoke on The Water have always been standards. Come Together - A Hard Days Night (no-one has been able to duplicate) just to name the very bare minimum (and you forgot Elvis and most of Motown....like (Papa Was A Rolling Stone)....
Aerosmith - sweet emotion !!!! gotta be the all time best song intro . Another one you should check out is Big Wreck - The oaf. And honerable mention should go to Accept - Fast as a shark.
If you've got songs cut then it's really best ever intros is it. I agree no acdc? For whom the bell tolls but not hells bells even though hells bells was first. Have a look outside America and England to buddy they don't own music.
Rebel Yell? really? nothing special about the intro to that song and I can't believe you don't have the intro to Eminence Front by the Who on this list.
