The Sweet are not loved, more... adored by their fans, even though three of its members are dead. Their music remains, has influenced other bands and is listened to. They made incredible hits and songs, ranging from glam to hard songs that are still a blast today. I listen to them myself. @thecuttingroomfloor5817 I've no idea from where this click-baity channel guy hails, But he can take with him my resounding THUMBS DOWN. Not only did he not merit a thumbs up just for producing content that's watchable, he's earned a THUMBS DOWN for producing content that's simply fail. I caught the 1960s vid before I got this one (it was even worse). I thought that perhaps he was dragging the lake to come up with those artists, until I saw that this one was just the same. More amazing artists who, for the most part, saturated the air waves in their day, but who are not popular today. I have had many cars in my 40+ years of driving, but only one bumper sticker -- the "Unknown Pleasures" album art. Yes, Joy Division was something, and still is. Their sound was cutting edge then, and timeless now. Also King Crimson - really? I just have to shake my head at that one, too. This video did not claim to be about musical taste or preference, so I can't give the "subjective" pass here. Sweet? Just - what was this guy thinking? (clicks and views, clicks and views). Enough of my rant. In summary, this video and at least one more from this channel belong -- you guessed it -- on the cutting room floor.

What the hell is the radar of time? I remember all of these bands. I own most of their albums. I often wonder how the Runaways would have fared if they'd kept Michael Steele on board. As it is, they had no peak to reach. Fleetwood Mac had two heydays. Give me an Albatross any day. King Crimson spawned greatness. Lots of Budgie fans out there. Big Star has always been great, Alex Chilton is a magician in his own right. Wild Cherry turned out to be a one trick pony. Wait, what? The Carpenters? I daresay they'll never be forgotten. Ever. Same with the Canadian wonder, the Guess Who. They were all over the radio. Burton and Bachman still tour. Since when did 1977 radio eschew good musicianship? I may come back and do a part 2 maybe. I'll leave with this: Stop underestimating your audience.

Ditto the Guess Who. i live in Canada, and we hear Guess Who music every day on the radio. And they didn't "fade away". Randy Bachman left to form Bachman Turner Overdrive (taking care of business, let it ride, you ain't seen nothing yet, and looking out for #1). The Guess Who and BTO were awesome and their tunes are super well known. And the Jam? LIke the Guess Who, their main guy, Paul Weller, left to form Style Council in the early-to-mid 1980s. Both great bands. i still play their music. And #1 The Sex Pistols. Is he nuts. They were the face of Punk. They haven't fallen off the "radar of time". They were massive and full of energy. DEATH: most of these bands have had significant deaths. You mentioned Badfinger, Jackie Fox in the Runaways, FM lost Bob Weston, Bob Welch, Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Christine McVie. KC lost John Wetton, Ian MacDonald, Greg Lake, Boz Burrell. Badfinger is a VERY well thought of band. The Runaways? Both Lita Ford and Joan Jett have had VERY successful careers. And there barely there clothing appealed to the boys. FLEETWOOD MAC???? Where are you getting your information? UMMM FM were legends in BRITAN due to the brilliance of Peter Green, you sod. KING CRIMSON: too experimental. They didn't see enough FM airplay, you would only find KC on underground stations. Same with Budgie. Never heard of Big Star. The CARPENTARS?? she died!!!!! The Guess Who have not disappeared, check out your oldies staton.

The Runaways have not been left behind or forgotten. There was a fucking documentary AND docu-drama released in the last 10 yrs, lol. Reeeaaach. Joy Division is still highly relevant, so not sure what they're doing here. Leonard Skinnard...seriously?

...... The Pistols were the greatest R&R car wreck of the 70s & most entertaining. Syd Vicious promised, delivered & became legend. All the rest faded.

Is this a remake or so? I saw this already weeks ago... And during the Montrose segment there's a picture of Van Halen. Why?
@Christopher-v7u

Because Sammy hagar tied to van halen as their second singer. Look up Montrose on RU-vid one of the channels is van halan archive.

There's a photo of Van Halen during the Montrose segment, which would be understandable, but Hagar isn't even in the shot - Diamond Dave is, and no mention of the connection between the two. Other than that...

How can you talk about this band's original near fall while only having pictures of Fleetwood, McVie, McVie, Buckingham, and Nicks. That is an effing disgrace and a total lack of knowledge.

Who is 'M', ditto Sweet. He's right about the Bonnie & Delaney / Blind Faith / Taste tour though, I saw that show in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was the 4th show from the end of the tour, Eric came out and played 3 or 4 songs with Delaney and Bonnie so it seems they had become good friends by then. I'd be willing to bet D&B weren't too thrilled when Eric took off with half their band to form Derek and the Dominoes LOL

I believe the guess who got their name when they sent blank 45s to the radio stations to play. They didn’t have a name so jokingly they wrote on the 45 sleeves guess who. I guess the name took on a life of its own.

What happens when what happens doesn't happen like what should happen? Maybe "what happens" happens to become "what doesn't happen"? Who happens to care what happens? Or how and when it happens to happen? Yes, this is a not-happening happening. - If this clip deleted the phrase, "What happens when..." it would be half the length.
