There’s different ways to look at it. In my opinion great finals can either close fought contest which we’ve seen a lot of in WC finals, or one side demolitions like this one and 2019. I think the 2019 win by SA was the convincing victory we’ve seen in a final, considering Englands quality in 2019 compared to Australia in 2015. Then we’ve seen close fought games for most of the other finals, but 1995 and 2003 I think were the closest games, with both being decided by dropkicks. But ultimately I think 1995 was the best final, because of what it meant off the field, with the politics of SA, also a year out from that WC, there was no chance the Springboks were going to win it, but they made it happen.

New Zealand’s Greatest All Black team in History in my opinion, but this is not the greatest rugby World cup final, I’d say England vs Australia 1999 would have to be up there, where Johnny Wilkinson broke the hearts of Australians with that winning drop kick, what about Joel Stranski in the 1995 World Cup not only sealing the win with his drop kick, but that win was so important for South Africa because it had united the entire nation, Nelson Mandela had invested a lot of time to be with the Springboks and their captain during that tournament to try and lift the players spirits and unify them, boy did it work and what a Man he is for doing that, come to think of it now, the significance of that win meant something more for the people of South Africa and the world, the 1995 Rugby World Cup final in my opinion, is the GREATEST ❤

No I would say that the 1995 RWC Final would pip this one any day since it was played into extra time and was won by only three points. This one isn't tense because it's not close. That one was close. And my second choice which is my favourite is the 2019 RWC Final. Tense until the start of the last quarter. But I guess coming close in would be the 2003 where it was back and forward between England and Australia only for England to just get in at the end. So no this is not the tensest RWC Final. Edit: 2023 Final is much better than this also because from this game it's clear to see who will win. With the 2023 Final it was tense the entire way through. There was no point where either team ran away with the game. No one at any point felt sure their team was going to win. Only by the scruff did South Africa manage to pull it off. But I had no assurance Springboks were going to win. I felt confident but only because I support them and they are fantastic but NZ were also fantastic on the day
