Africa doesn't have much going for it and yes South Africa may be more blessed than other African Nations but when we come together in sport, we come together as a continent and not just a country, that is why your example of Germany and England doesn't really apply to us. in short it is the spirit of Ubuntu.

@@taraishot100 yea it was really huge for South Africa recently emerging from the brutal Apartheid regime the Nation United to win the 1995 Rugby World Cup and i mean the All Blacks had the Great Jonah Lomu and even with that South Africa won a tough grueling RWC Final

Have to agree with the comment above - 1995. Against the ABs with Jonah, 100 minutes of unbelievable rugby against the odds. Just wish we'd had the try we scored in that game awarded, but it's still the best.

i will say 1995 was best, even after being in isolation/sanctions/sports boycotts during the apartheid years did nothing to the quality of rugby, the country could still win a World Cup, that's why i always say sanctions do not help, in first world cup thy win against the best of teams at that time, just imagine if the country was never boycotted what rugby team thy would of been,

Also if it was a question from the press how was it the England Media team allow it to get out ? Also why was this not a big story at the time ? A comment like that would have been big news before a final. And yet it wasn't.. I will take your word about this as unlikely as it sounds , but without context how can I comment. Regardless even if Billy did make such a comment, fo you really think that anything he said would have galvanised the Boks further to win the final ? It doesn't make any sense
