Having gained a reputation as one of the most influential traditional Irish bands, ‘The Bothy Band’ recorded a two-part programme for RTÉ Television in the Embankment Cabaret Rooms, Tallaght, Dublin.
The band comprises: Matt Molloy, Dónal Lunny, Paddy Keenan, Kevin Burke, Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill and Mícheál Ó Domhnaill.
Just two years after their formation ‘The Bothy Band’ have already garnered strong support in Ireland and abroad.
Formed in 1975 by Donal Lunny ‘The Bothy Band’ recorded three studio albums and released one live album. They disbanded in 1979. A ‘Best of’ album was released in 1983 with a further live album in 1995.
