I was in pre school when this show aired. For the longest time i only was able to see the Batman green hornet cross over and had vague memmorise of the green hornet show. Now thanks to utube i can watch the episode s.
William Dozier told ABC that he would not agree to continue the Green Hornet for a second season unless it was expanded to a full hour. ABC said no due to the costs and the fact the ratings weren't that great in the first year. Van Williams also said that he wanted a full hour because it would help develop the episodes more thoroughly and could expand the relationship between Britt Reid and Miss Case.
But then again, we got 26 episodes of Bruce Lee. After he died, for us who were born long after Bruce died, I can't tell you how much of an unbelievable jackpot it was to discover this series.
It makes it an inspiring show ,the great music score ..it's a little cheesy ,but nothing like idiotic 60 's "Batman " ,with Adam West..also amazing is the fact my mother's ashes are scattered in that exact section of Malibu !!👼😇❤⌚
Me too, I used come in metro Detroit on channel 20 in the 1970s after batman but never watch it, linda gaye Scott the gold outfit lady invaders from outer space, she played Riddler sidekick on batman episode, she was gorgeous with truckload of makeup and purple outfits on
The encounter with the Fake Green Hornet did not end in hand to hand combat. I was very disappointed!!! In the episode where the bad guy ambushed Kato and tossed him into a garbage can Kato was able to fight and defeat him at the end. This time the Fake Green Hornet ambushed Brit and kicked him in the face to win that fight. At the end it was Kato's driving skills vs the Fake Green Hornet's driving skills. Kato has many years of experience driving Black Beauty and has mastered "handling" her. Kato made a very smooth left turn and Black Beauty remained totally stable. When the Fake Green Hornet attempted to perform the same maneuver he failed. He turned too sharp and too fast as a result his Black Beauty became totally unstable and flipped over!!!! So really it was Kato who won this fight extremely decisively!!! What else is new!!!! Another day at the office for Kato!!!! Lol!!!
For those who may have missed it in episode 18 part one, you get an early Robert Crane just before Neal is shot - no speaking, just an appearance. I love these trips down memory lane with these classics. Thanks for these great uploads.

I fell in love with all 3 guys… Van, Britt & TGH when the show aired in the 60s. - Now thanks to the wonderful person who has provides all of these great episodes to watch here, I am a nut again over Van. I told my best friend if there had been a law against a man who looked as gorgeous as Van did, he would had gotten 5 life sentences… she cracked UP laughing 😆. - I told her I have seriously lost my mind because who not only renews a mad 55-year crush on a man who not only never even knew that I exist, but was married before I was born AND has passed away over 5 years ago as an elderly man…. SMH!!! 😂… Prayers please, haaa ha haaa!! LBVS.. 😊🙏🏽
The series really has hit it's stride with this 2nd two part episode! Remember, NBC also tried to cancel Star Trek the same year, also after the first season.
@@marinodomino1376 Yes, it was. The Green Hornet and Kato appeared in an episode of Batman in a cross-over, and also in another episode as a window gag.
But... If Simon had had a duplicate Black Beauty made just for the masquerade party, it wouldn't have had real weapons. So Sabrina was lying... but then she wouldn't have had any reason to want him killed. Only his niece... and why was Dan...? Oh well.
don't look into so much? its just a t.v show from the 60's. Actually, if you want to get technical, in some episodes they show the black beauty parked up-side down hidden in the secret garage, if this were true the car would never start because all the fluids like gas and other stuff would come pouring out all over the car!!!! but, like I said its just a show from the 60's.
I really wish Adam West had made an appearance as Bruce Wayne/Batman on this show. I think the writers could have played Batman straight, something that was done during a couple of episodes during that show's first season.
That's what is magnificent looking back ..I wasn't even 9 or 10 ,but although a little campy ,this show was kind of sinister and edgy ..there are almost as many deaths as " Hawaii Five O " ,back then version..I think the music score drove the more adult (thank God!) Action
If Mike doesn't see what Britt sees in that restaurant, he's gotta be gay.... I have really grown to like this series. I remember it playing in reruns on a small UHF station in the late 80s. Fun to see them again and better appreciate the stories.
I was wondering that myself. I don't think there's been mention of Mike's family or relationships before this episode so I think at this point it was left open whether he was gay or just disinterested in the company of others all this time.
@@blazerocker1734 never a thought that he was really gay. It wasn't hinted at, or left ambiguous. It wasn't a thing in those days on TV. Mike was presented as a dedicated reporter whose first, last, and only interest was reporting. He wasn't fleshed out more than that.
I still don't understand the ending. It appears that Britt Reid telephoned Melissa Neal while he was having lunch with Sabrina Bradley, but what could he have told her that would have made Dan Scully play the fake Green Hornet again? And why have Sabrina hold Melissa at gunpoint to prevent her from meeting Reid when he called at her home? None of this was explained.

Look,dispite a name change in PI and Asia,the focus of the show has ALWAYS been the Green Hornet.Even in the 1940s serial,it was the Green Hornet.Look,we all like Kato,but like Robin in Batman,the focus was always Batman.Without the Hornet,Kato is a never to be.
Okay, people. I asked this question as a 6 year old kid watching the show first run and not even my parents answered it. So 50+ years later I ask again: What would happen if the Green Hornet actually LOST??? What would happen if the bad guy actually WON??? I’m still waiting for my answer.
It'd be business as usual. This is a city without the street crime but held by syndicates and gangs. The Green Hornet 'collects' protection money from his quarter of the city: of course he doesn't actually charge them or take their money. The question really should be: If the Green Hornet went bad, how long before he owned everything.
Cringe-worthy writing. Britt Reid ogling girls in weird outfits--especially girls dressed as ponies--ewwww. Kato (Bruce Lee) is the real star of this series and is light-years more enjoyable to watch then anyone else on this show.
