We would really love to have an update on this greenhouse experiment! Your videos have helped me as I try to recover my health after cancer. But I may have to unsubscribe due to the constant unhelpful videos which are being posted. I assume you have been hacked, & I really hope someone can help you with that soon!!! We REALLY miss hearing from you!!! 😢🙏🏽💜
Hello from Poorboys'Little Homestead. Guys I'm located in NE LA. and I'm doing an experiment with the diesel heater this year. I have a video of me testing the heater on cold nights but have no plants in the green house at that time. Anyways my question is how the heater has been working out for you. I see this video was done in 2020.
Do you know if Victory seeds has a tomato called "MEAT BREAKFAST". IT's the meatest i've ever seen, along with "BEEFSTEAK" too i very meaty. My seeds are SEEDS N SUCH. THE CHEAPEST I KNOW. ALSO PINETREST, THEY HAVE EVEN HERBS, TINCTURES, WOOL YARN, ELDERBERRY LOTS
Interesting setup hope it works out well for you, the veggies may be expensive but will be better than the tasteless ones you get at the big stores.. I will agree this has been a fantastic fall and if I don't have to get out the snow shovel this winter I will be happy.
I had my diesel heater inside my greenhouse like you but i was getting some small amounts of exhaust fumes inside so i ended up putting my heater outside and just piped in the hot air and it made a huge difference for the good , also put a carbon monoxide sensor inside , good luck
Well, my husband is the one who researched setting this up and I know he watched a bunch of youtube videos. If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find one. As Tim mentioned, I guess there are a bunch of them out there on these things.
Anything to extend our growing season right? Everything else is bonus! Too bad you didn’t have peppers in a bucket and you could bring them in the house because as long as they don’t get frosted they are “perennial” and will continue to produce. Thanks for sharing. ☮️-Kirsten
I'm in NW Ohio so about same temps as you guys. This is my 1st winter with greenhouse. Wondering how your heater did during the really cold snaps we have had this winter? How much fuel do you typically use a week when its really cold? I have double pane windows for my walls and triple wall poly for roof so its pretty insulated - north wall and roof is fully insulated. Using a 1500 watt elec heater w/ thermostat to keep it at 40* can get a bit $$ when it gets down to single digits over night.
i cant wait for the update. im also in michigan. im wondering if you have ever looked at the ana white green house plans. i plan on building a green house in the future and this heater looks like it is nice. though i do wonder if there is green house out there that could maintain heat with out a heater in our michigan winters.
I've never seen her greenhouse plans, but boy is that woman clever, clever, clever when it comes to designing her tiny house spaces!! There is a way to have a self-heating greenhouse in colder climates: Look up Walpini. They are basically pits dug into the earth with a slanted (to the south) roof. They use the earth as insulation and take advantage of its steady temperature (below the frost line) -- much like a root cellar does. I've always been very intrigued by them. If we were starting over on a homestead, I would definitely build one of those.
