The Grey -The Letter 

I'm a woman, and this film kicked the shit out of me. Honestly! It gave me the most honest insight into a man's psyche; the most honest I have ever seen in my life on planet Earth. Can I say this? I never knew how much we women drive you ahead; how much we give you purpose, and how much you LIVE for us. ...and after watching this, I can only imagine the fury that 'GOOD men' have towards men who take what is offered to them from women and children and use it to make themselves feel more powerful, as opposed to using that love and trust to build yourselves up and nurture what you have. And believe me, GOOD women see a GOOD man, and are so thankful for what you sacrifice for us. We TRULY are thankful...as GOOD women. Anyway, I guess I'm just rambling here, but this film hit me hard, and is completely underestimated and undervalued.

I lost my wife to cancer and can totally relate to this. Someday we all have to deal with our fears...

This is a fine story of Men, what they have seen, felt , emotions and how they deal with their personal demons, to give up or to fight. Their is empathy on both sides, every man has a breaking point.......The question remains what will you do when you have had enough?????What direction or action will you take when you are broken and have no hope???Its hard not to take the easy way out when its in front of you, and you find peace there.... It doesn't matter about the wolf, perhaps we should call it fear and pain which lives in every man mind, its how you deal with it..

this was one of the best movies i have ever watch in my life ... my life's story

This movie was cleverly disguised as an action movie for the knuckleheads but it's philosophical. The wolves represent death as they don't behave that way in nature. It covers survival, love, loss, grief, fear, persistence, "God", fate, "beast vs. man", death.....EXISTENCE. It's got Neeson minus the mindless 'Taken' nonsense. Life = White. Death = Black. THE GREY = Survival....at least temporarily (and that goes for us as well). The antithesis to Life of Pi in it's message regarding faith (although, that was a good film too). Beautiful music.

The theme is universal. The struggle and grapple with/for purpose in life. Everybody can relate. So moving. Seriously underrated.

I just want to thank you for posting this. It means so much to me. My friend took me to see the movie one night. My wife and I were the closest we had ever been and going through the toughest time. We had been beaten up by everything, people, the system, everything. She held on to her faith, how, I'll never know. Me, Ide given up on God a long time ago. We lost our children for nothing, to a corrupt system and supposed loved ones. We turned to drugs and that pain and suffering when you go that far down is incredible that I am here today. We were homeless, lost everything. All we had was each other. Then I lost her too. We had battled addiction and were clean. Before we could even get going with our new found everything and fight a major injustice, she died. It was over before it began. Have law suit, not so much for me, but for our girls. It was shortly after when I was taken to see this film. Wow! It hit me deep as my wife had cancer, an unfair world and God who I called upon to save her as I struggled to breathe for her, never came. Now I wonder this world only to be here for my girls. I wanted to die. All the while I pleaded with God that instead of her, take me, take me I cried. The wolf means many things for many people. This movie put some things into perseption for me at just the right time. How the story of my life ends is but a tale to be told at best. All I can do is try my best as I really do think I am lost without her. I put a gun to my head many times knowing I stopped doind this world any real good. Then I think of my girls. Who would walch over them and help them during their hardships. I have to live and be here for them for every thing in their stuggles in life. I have to live showing them that life isn't easy. This movie is so amazing and under appreciated. The writing is a perfect simple survival story that allows the real emotions of fear to shine. I just saw 60 minutes interview with Liam Neeson talking about his wife dying. This happened before this movie and makes those scenes even more real.

I like how it has a Liam Neeson voice over, making the song 10x better.

Man the last scene when he ducks his head and stares the wolf down. Epic we men are beasts in our own way.

The letter he wrote for this film was to his actual wife that died...Amazingly sad but extremely powerful.

The background soundtrack just makes it way more emotional i literally shed tears while watching this movie

You did a great job on this montage. I think the trailer for the film should have been more in this vein as many people hate on this film as they went in expecting a typical brainless Hollywood film, but this film is so so much more, brings me to tears every time, it's so deep. The director was fearful that a more allegorical deeper character film wouldn't be a commercial success so that might explain why they went for a more mainstream feel in the trailer. Good work fella! PS don't you just love the piano score they use - it resonates the feel of those scenes so perfectly.

I've battled with depression on and off for years I'm one to hold things inside because in the foster care system you can get attached or show weakness but this video has hit so close to home and I'm 30 now with even a bigger chip on my shoulder but this brought me to tears I lost my mom to an over dose I really only knew her for a couple of my teenage years but I can say I loved her and she loved me

i lost my dad when i was very small. I believe that if he were alive then he would have had raised me in a much stronger way to face this cruel world full of selfish people and cold stoned hearts. Whenever I miss him, I listen the music from The GREY movie. And today I am missing him a lot.. :( :'(

I think this film relates to Liams own struggle through his own losses in life and how the Wolves represent the hurdles he's having to face through life and leads poiniently to the final battle, with the Alpha wolf at the end, his ultimate test. I believe he fights through this and lies exhausted, but triumphantly and takes him to his next chapter. I also believe the Wolves are taking revenge for the ones he's taken during the film.
