The most frustrating thing is that within my family there is such profound resentment that everyone bears towards everyone simmering beneath the surface. Honest and direct communication is fundamentally impossible. FOG is the default setting.

My parents weren’t perfect but pretty good. I ache for my children with a narcissistic father who have missed out on so much because he fed his ego instead of being a loving father😢

A lot of middle aged divorced women from the baby boomer generation are feeling isolated and left behind while their former husband is busy with a much younger woman step mother most of the time for around 5 or more years. To say that pain is always due to disfunctional home grown up in is not always accurate. A mentor at school explained it better to me by saying that kind of thing always happens when there is a lot more money being paid to men during any [] rush era.

Yes and it hurt so much to see how nice my mother was towards my friends. She was so lovely. All my friends loved her. It was hurting so much to see, what I will never get. She could be a lovely person, but she couldn't love me. The huge feeling that accompanied my entire childhood and teenage time was envy. For everything. Even food. It was eating me from the inside out. It became better, then grieve came. Now I have both feelings now and then a lot milder. But I'm not happy and I'm so scared my life will always be worthless.

@@taschak3889 I'm so sorry, it's so difficult to heal from this type of thing but I know if you put effort in then you will heal somewhat. It's worth the effort.
