As a man that stands at 5'2 and having just gotten out of jail a few weeks ago, let me just say you are absolutely correct. You have to befriend the biggest person in order to survive. That is indeed a basic tenet of survival for us.
Can Confirm. Back when I was a wee lad, my family had this cat, looked quite a bit like this one actually. Every week or so during the Fall, this cat would chase black bears out of the yard. Black bears mind you, not grizzlies, but still, zero fucks given.
@mdo686 That fat, raised-by-humans bear isn't going to catch that cat lmao. Size and power are only effective tools if your prey cant outrun/out maneuver you. Bears have impressive tree climbing speed, but that doesn't mean they have cat climbing speed. The bear would have a better chance of killing an adult puma than a house cat.
1misanthropist / AGREED! A medium sized dog would be the best to have 1. Easier to lift then a large dog , 2. They’d listen better then a small dog, when you call a small dog they look at you like “Fuck you!” And keep running, 3. Medium sized dogs would be less overwhelming for a first time owner who lived in a small apartment or something, 4. A lot of dogs are medium sized so it’d be easier to find one.
So true, I had a friend who would put his gf's cat in a room when he came over with his dog because he was scared his dog would hurt the cat. I had to laugh telling him if anything he should be worried about his dog getting his eyes scratched out over the cat getting hurt.
@@1sTEfFaniE1 same, I had a cat and my cousin's two dogs, I was scared cause every time the dogs got near they would bark at the cat and growl, so we tied them up, wrong thinking, the cat go to one dog and beat the hell out of him the other got scared and every time the cat got near he would cry. Then I let the two dogs run free so they could hide, I couldn't find a way to Tue the cat or close in the bedroom cause he new the way of opening the door that didn't had a lock. XD In the end one of the dog stayed near the car like saying, when we where going back home? And the other joined the cat and started to copy the cat behaviour, hiding between books, trying to get on top of things and even making holes to take his business and then cover with sand. Was a mess XD
I have preferred dogs to cats but after my dog died I came across a cat that was living on someone's open air porch and only ate when someone was kind enough to feed it. She has been with me for 4 years now and I'm glad that she adopted me. A month ago I found another cat about 6 months old in pretty much the same dilemma and now she too has a warm bed and a full belly. Cats are loving companions just looking for a warm bed on a cold night, a little food for their empty stomachs, and someone to love.
well done ssdog...im the same way and I wound up with 7 kitties at one point...lol...but they all lived long and happy (I think anyway) lives, I still have 2 of them
I have 10 cats, i've worked out that if i feed all the cats on the estate, they then come to live with me instead of there original owner lol. My next goal is to become a millionaire and do the same with the girls on the estate.
@Zippy Thekid If you’re talking about Timothy Treadwell, he never truly bonded with any of the bears in Alaska. They only got habituated to him. On his last season before dying, he did notice that a new bear came to the region where he was camping, and knew that the bear would probably pose a problem. He got eaten by the bear, in his camp, along with his girlfriend. This cat has bonded much better than Timothy did, and the bear has gotten used to it, unlike that old one which ate Timothy without hesitation.
@@juanjoyaborja.3054 And this cat already together for years (the bear lost his mom) means they are together and the bear didn't eat the cat bcs he love the cat. I know how Bears actually way worse than lion or Tigers bcs bears can eat you alive. It's not rare to see a bear eating alive deer. This cat is very special to this bear and i bet the bear Will fight anyone who want to hurt the cat. Maybe the bears also eat fruits if he didn't find any meat just not to eat the cat. That's the highest level of bond
Cats are strange critters. I had one that used to chase bears out of the yard. She was meaner than any junk yard dog. She also loved to hang out and play with the skunks that lived close by.
Polar bears occasionally get a arctic fox as a companion. It is too small for the polar bear to eat, gaining very little from eating fox. But the fox gets security and more food than it can eat. Same situation, only with a cat and a brown bear. Some things may be different however.
What I found awesome, the bear moving the cat aside with his big mouth gently like "this is my food move" nonaggressive but obviously moving the cat aside several times, even with it's paw "move" lol
I feel like this music is supposed to sound whimsical and playful, but something about it is horrifying. It sounds like something you'd expect to hear in an abandoned theme park attraction that's haunted, and it suddenly powers on and this starts playing.
Yeah, it’s horrible! Gave me a headache. I tried to hear the cat and bear communicating, but instead some idiot banging on his mamas pots and pans ruined that opportunity. Geeeee!
@TeenMomTo baby.J Then why do male brown bears wake up earlier in the spring and actively seek out female bear dens to eat cubs, that might be their own?
i got a cat next door that thinks that it is a human, he keeps coming up to me and talking but in a dialect i find hard to understand. no matter it is always about either food or friendship. many of my friends have died, some prematurely, i figure him for an old friend as he behaves much more like a human than than any animal that i have ever known. his vocabulary also is far more varied than i have heard from other animals......also he scoffs down sardines in tomatoe sauce as his favorite.......he comes to see me because his keeper feeds him cat food but i share with him food that i too eat.
@Seth Organ thanks for the advice, i have got fish in brine and fish in oil so i will feed him those instead from now on and keep the ones in sauce for myself..........he did enjoy however a party for someone's birthday that we had last year where i made him up a party plate away from the noise of sausage rolls and other goodies.........he licked the plate clean and said thank you afterwards in cat.
@@jonathanlovejoy1984 I recommend the brine for tinned fish, over oil anyway. My cat loves tuna and will eat oily tuna but its obvious she goes through some distaste when i have given her that type of tuna - being a lot slower to eat it.. Really the fish in spring water is the best because brine could cause a little bit of unwanted build up of salt.
Love that 'Get outta the way bite'. Then the love nibble as if to say 'I'm not mad, just move'. Then 2:44 'I'm just gonna take this and get out of your way... '
Oddly, this is not the first instance of a bear and cat duo. There was also a black bear at the San Diego Zoo that had a cat companion, and a sun bear in Berlin that befriended a cat.
Haha, no way. This is definitely one of those cases where the music is so bad that it's good. I couldn't help laughing at the randomness of it. What's going on at around 2:25 is pure gold.
I absolutely hate wildlife videos replacing the real sounds with music. I don't understand why these people can't figure out that nobody wants this. And it doesn't matter what music.
This sums up the attitude of a cat so well. Just like the kitten who befriended a gorilla. I’m proud to be the caregiver/slave for several cats and every day is a new adventure. 😻
I've heard worse tbh. The music on one 'cute kittens do the funniest shit' video I saw last week made me feel like I was in a high security mental institution.
Beautiful! Animals that are more intelligent than we are. They share and show compassion more than what we think and give them credit for. Love and respect to them all
It's instinct they have not inteligence. Animals can't reason like people they kill based on instinct humans kill based on greed, hate etc. Animals can't build cars, computers, they don't have the capacity to reason, you saying that is a slap in God's face because He created man in his own image.
Dave Winfield Most people, however, have sacrificed their natural traits for "intelligence", decreasing their own and others life qualities considerably
Animals are certainly not as intelligent as humans, but they do have intelligence, not only instinct. You need to start watching more wildlife documentaries.:D Besides, if animals can express feelings like shame and guilt that's also a strong indicator that they may have a conscience. I'm not trying to go against your religious beliefs, because I respect that, but I just think many times we think very highly of ourselves and think that we're more special than other species because we have a super developed córtex that allow us to use our brain in more complex and sophisticated ways and do things that animals can't. But aside of that, in the end we're really not that different.
Kitty is sturdily built and has fur thick as bear fur. Bear knocks his friend around, gently nips. They're like 2 boys kicking around , just being buds. They don't have species' ism... 🐱😼...we are blessed to see this lesson.
i prefer dogs to cats but have to admit that cats are unique in their intelligence and ability to adapt to new things! long life to this new friendship :-)
Luigi Turiano Not my cats. Too well fed, bunch of couch potatoes, but at least they don't catch birds because they are too lazy and well fed. People often compare them to dogs and say they are not loyal, don't listen etc.. But it takes time to get a report with them and mine will follow me around like a dog would. One siamese I used to have would talk non stop to me.
This needs to be a series of children's books where these two go on adventures with the rogue-like o'possum that breaks them out of the rescue facility, each night. 🤣😂
Smitaay: write it, write it, write it. You've got a brilliant idea. This is the kind of children's book we read which also reads: "Inspired by..." Blessings
It's Amazing, how the Bear allowed the Cat to Share the food and Eat side-by-side. I never saw Anything like that before. Very unique footage. It proves: Anyone can become Friends.
