When the road first opens it is usual for it to be closed to motorcycles and cycles for the first few days and then when conditions dictate thereafter. On this day only 4 wheeled vehicles carrying snow chains were allowed. It was closed to two wheeled traffic but as you can see some cyclists took no notice.
Absolutely stunning scenes and the perfect music to go with the splendorous views from the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße. It's a shame about the cyclists. 😃❤👍
Gotta laugh at all the tearjerking comments about the cyclists. Why ? Because you have to take an extra couple of seconds to pass them ? Or by their simple existence ?
In fairness the road was closed to cyclists, motorcyclists and cars who could not show they were carrying snow chains. Cyclists do not have to pass through the Toll Booths where they would have been turned back and those you see chose to ignore the closure.
