HELL yeah, my favourite band and one of my favourite songs by The Guess Who. I saw Burton Cummings on tour in 2019 and he was AMAZING, he's taken good care of his voice.
I'm 62 years old and I've been listening to this song since it came out on the radio. Never once did it cross my mind to think of Motown in relation to this song. Brilliant! ✌️
You just reacted to one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Timeless; remember my parents playing this in the 70’s; was blessed to grow up with wonderful music ❤
Guess Who had a lot of hits, mostly early 70s, including this song. They were well known and got lots of radio play. But they were popular at the same time as several super groups (LZ, Stones, The Who). So the Guess Who is kinda hidden from an historical perspective. Also, Guess Who never made it into the US rock hall of fame. They deserve the honor but haven't made it yet
After years of making records that were local hits, the Guess Who achieved worldwide mainstream success with the release of These Eyes in early '69. It's not a cover, Biz, it was written by rock superstars Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman (Bachman Turner Overdrive). They followed this one with a string of hits, including in no order, "Laughing", "Share the Land", "Hand Me Down World", "Rain Dance", "No Time", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Dancin' Fool."
My hometown boys ❤ This was one of their first hits and no not a cover. Other Songs Undun Humpty's Blues Albert Flasher Running back to Saskatoon So long Bannatyne Share the land Laughing and I know you have done American Woman but there is a 14 minute version from the 2004 reunion tour live in Winnipeg that is a banger!! Cheers
One of my favorite songs of theirs. And right on, a Motown vibe for sure. The whole Arrangement is fantastic and the performance is perfect and wow his singing on this, and then there is just key change after key change after key change and he just keeps nailing it and each time he gets a little more berserk with it, laugh.
THE GUESS WHO, "THESE EYES". This band with an outstanding music song library. Still waiting to see you react too, "HANG ON TO YOUR LIFE", and "ALBERT FLASHER".
Hey Biz, is it Canada 🇨🇦 night? Neil Young, Rush and the Guess Who. I've seen them all in concert many times. In fact, the Guess Who in 1970 was the first concert i ever went to.
……the way you react and appreciate this music makes me Happy and emotional at the same time You Rock Biz 🔥❤️🤘🏼 All these songs are the soundtrack to our lives.
Biz...it's called Wheatfield Soul...From the Canadian prairies...!~!!!! These guys are a huge rabbit hole to explore, including many many many album only cuts like Humpty's Blues, So Long Bannatyne and more...!
Haha! I used to sing "These Eyes" to my little sister when she had a pout on. Her eyes were wee little daggers. Used to make her so angry. lol That was many years ago.
Theyre great live! Dang! They opened for Steppenwolf. I think it should have been the other way around. They sure had the crown hot when Steppenwolf finally came out. Great concert. Steppenwolf was great too. I like to sing so i tend to like something i can sing with.
There is a track that was removed from one of their albums. Subject matter was a little different, so commercially, it was not successful. The track is called "Friends of Mine" of the album called "Wheatfield Soul"
My friends and I use to play guess who the band and song on the radio, lol. I burned their asses every time, they knew I knew my music. But this band is the one that always stumped me, knew the songs, but blank on the band.
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Love your reaction channel ❤ May I suggest another great song by "ST-Paul and the Broken Bones" original video live studio Song is 🎵 Grass is Greener 🎵 You gonna love this one too Keep the good work Biz 👏 ✌️ 👍🏻 🙏
They have a lot of great songs (some of my favorites UNDUN & Laughing) but get a little trippy and try Friends of Mine, most people aint hip to that one. I don't know if it was an homage to the doors or an attempt at competition to them but it is awesome.
not a cover bachman wrote on his dates piano while waiting for her to get ready.... I think... check the facts it's in a bachman interview somewhere ;9) great selection
That's funny. Your background image has the current, so-called Guess Who pictured. That's why four of the five look far younger than the fifth guy, Gary Peterson. Any of the original band members could have kept touring under the band's name but the song writing duo responsible for almost all of the band's hits - Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman - are so famous (and had successful careers after) that they still choose not to do so. It's very sad to see the Guess Who having morphed into a weird sort of cover band of the Guess Who!
Next reaction VOB "ENTER SANDMAN "Metalica cover VOB BAND TRIO HIJABERS from 🇮🇩 VOB consert LIVE AT FRANCE. TRANS MUSICALES DE RENNES 2021👍 VOB AMAZING super talented 🤟
