The Guild Wars 2 Graveyard - A Selection of Lost Assets Over Time 

So this is a wierd one. I LOVE this kind of stuff, but I feel like usually most people don't care because it's not new / it's probably not actually going to actually affect the game. So I'm watching closely to see if the video does well, if I can justify it I have so many cool things to talk about in new parts. And who knows where it'll lead. Problem is that there are quite a few projects in action at the moment so I have to be picky about which ones actually go up. So vote with your enthusiasm!

The dungeon completion voice lines are fully implemented. I know because I am the one that has been slowly completing that table. I just don't have any charr, nor human characters

On the snake: I believe I read that they were actually ganna implement snakes, and even have them as ranger pets, but that their animations were too hard to implement and kept breaking (which can kinda be seen in your footage). Now I would love if they took the animations of the sand eel and use those for snakes, I mean our spiders dont look or move like real spiders so why not?

Snakes were in the beta. In fact, the Carnival "Snake Handler" actually had a snake instead of a wurm. Another thing for the Graveyard...Human Female idle poses.

Weirdly enough, polearms are now used by NPCs ingame from the recent DRMs, specifically when you get the watchknight allies during a DRM there's a few seraph guardsmen that tag along, those seraph (can) use a polearm, and you can see this idle animation as a result - 7 years later.

I love the school uniforms. I can't see that they're anymore skimpy than the medium human female cultural armor that exposes underboob. Also I have a great idea for those paper bags, it would be awesome to have something like that to wear when learning something new such as a fractal or dungeon path you're not familiar with. If it were standard then everyone would know that you'd like advice and guidance rather than salt! I always let people know but its tough when you're trying to type it up in chat and your party is halfway through already! And yes please keep digging up these rabbit holes!

So about the snake, I specifically remember there being snakes in the betas. I remember pointing it out to my friends because the physics were really janky. The one I saw was around the very northern part of Kessex Hills by the long road. I did not know about the one in the highlands so that's really cool. Wish they would've added them in more. They look really adorable

I'd love to the leviathan covered in the next video, even though I think it's one a lot of people know. The orignal trailer of the player character encountering it underwater is still so memorable.

"Requesting offensive Golem support." I distincly remember this one that it did play when you used the Summon 7-Series Golem elite skill. I don't know if it still plays as one just doesn't use that anymore.

If you draw your weapon, your wardrobe preview character will as well

The Bullfrog Hammer is actually available as a skin as part of the Reclaimed set that came with HoT.

Man, the icon at 3:28 takes me back. I remember having a bow in GW1 that had that icon and I was super confused. It was so obscure that over time I started doubting my memory and though it was a weird dream or something like that haha

I miss the town cloths. In fact I have a picture of my first charter with town clothing on. For a long time I forgot about them and did not use them and later on remembering them I was looking around did not even realize it was gone or what had happened lol

Oh please please do more! Even if they aren't popular videos, they're still fascinating for us who do like them!

i want more, this video was incredible to watch. Its like watching a Guild Wars 2 "History Channel" and i'm like i need more of this. Loved the discovery of weapons not finalized in game like looking at the pole-arms for example it really captures ones imagination to use different weapons potentially in the future. Keep up the great work!

6:40 - Imagine if similar to the Knight of thorns quest with Caladbolg. We get a story in Cantha with Marjory and her family, a separate sort of quest. Marjory was recently tormented again in Ice Brood Saga with them bringing up the old story thread of her sister. Surely if we're going to Cantha , we might even up seeing her family? (further more the jokes about her mother being E could be a thing). Id love some kind of detective mission that ends up awarding this blade.

Not a fan of the school uniforms, but then I've never really understood the schoolgirl fetish. Which is also why I think they were not implemented, they didn't want people to put them on Asura (or really small humans) and go down that dark path. The paperbags are pretty cool and absolutely not outrageous by GW2-2020 standards. The angry one looks perfect for an Asura Necro, doesn't it.

This is incredibly fascinating, especially the voice lines at the end. I wonder how the ended up connected to the "Hold The Line" shout. It reminds me of the time when one of the Salvage-o-Matic sound effects broke, I don't remember it being anything interesting tho.

They do have pole arms in Lake Doric on the Seraph. When I saw them I was hopeful they might bring them in. As for the school clothes, I think they're kind of cute. If they offered them as armor parts I'd really like that instead of outfits. I remember the paper bags helms from way back. Someone posted them somewhere. Seems like a easy thing they could toss in at Halloween.

Guardian is modified version of the monk class in Gw1 and they used spears according to a buddy, so a polearm wouldn't be right at home on a guardian. Maybe it was intended for Dragonhunter? Maybe a ranged throwing polearm. but instead went with longbow.

I'd love more of this kind of stuff. It's super interesting!

I remember the snakes! Saw a lot of them in diessa plateau during betas. I think they were removed because there bodies were pretty segmented and the fractured/bent weird.

Really enjoyed this! I had no idea so much was never implemented. I began levelling a Canthan Human revenant a few months back, ironically before EoD was even hinted at with the Shing Jea image, and I've struggled to find a pair of swords for them. Eventually settled on Mordrem Sabers but I'd swap them out in a heartbeat for the Quetzl swords used by the Ele in the fractal. I really hope they end up implemented sometime!

We have anthropomorphic Cacti tonics, we have skimpy outfits and armor for every weight on human female, we have 15 foot tall char and norn running around looking like a supernova, we are past the point of no return. I'm sure the paper bag helms would fit in nicely.

4:00 crazy looking at your character here. With the flashyness of the radiant skins, this in early days gw2 was considered the peak of how flashy we would ever get. Zephyrite helm (still my favorite) and spinal backpiece close contenders. Not looking at it.. the backpiece seems to plain for huge a massive AP reward. Yet at the same time, the contrast to the rest of the gemstore skins, i love how subtle it is.

That was a really fun video! I don't know if this counts, but there is a light armor set that was originally only available though pvp, and then it was gone for a while, then it was available through wvw, but I think it's gone again, called the Tribal Armor. It's actually still usable in game, but I don't think you can get it anymore

There is a rifle skin called Deadliest Game that was added into the game about a year ago or so, and it apparently is obtainable from the mystic forge, but no one has yet been able to figure out how to make the weapon, which disappoints me because it's a cool skin and I want to make my deadeye use it with a gillie suit looking getup for the ultimate camo sniper!

I always enjoyed looking at and sharing the chat code for the "Raven Staff" back before Nevermore or any of the other t2 legendaries were added. Maybe they can reimpliment some of these skins in cool ways eventually like they did for Nevermore and Caladbolg and the Revenant weapons. We have been getting more old Norn armor lately in the Raven and Bear shaman sets, so I think it's on the table! Not technically un-implemented, but the spvp mystic forge exclusive armor and weapons still fascinate me. Luckily they added the reward track for the armor sets a few years back, but the weapons are still unobtainable if you didn't spvp for the first year. Please, Anet--I really want that Darkmoon Shield!

Literally one day later they added a school uniform outfit, yes it is different to the old town clothes outfit, but it's still there.

During the pre-launch beta, they also had a set of Scholar robes available in the Gem Store as town clothes (that would later evolve into Outfits). They were quite nice and I remember thinking "I might actually buy these", but then at proper launch they just weren't there and they never reintroduced them. The interesting part is that the model still exists in game and it is used by NPCs: it is the robe that human politicians (and some scholarly individuals) wear in Divinity's Reach. I always wondered why they dropped them from the gemstore: maybe it was difficult to implement them properly with other races? I can't see other reasons. They have the same toned down aspect the student's outfit has, but without the skimpy element...

As a sylvari player I never knew that about the voice prompts. The dialogue was always just the norm for me. Never realized others never had it 😅

Speaking of unused stuff, they could use a lot of animals as Ranger pet skins. It would work just like the black moa or the white raven : they don't need their own skills, they're just a copy of a pet that already exists with a different appearance. Stags, does, rams and longhorn sheeps could use the same skills as a rock gazelle for example. The crocodiles of elona are just drakes with a different skin. Vultures and tropical birds could totally work like the other birds. They could add snakes that have ibogas and sand eels animations. Btw sand eels are considered monsters more than animals, but they could totally be a pet too, and so does the rock dog or the warg, the griffons and the raptors. These ones don't fit into any pet family but they could just reuse already existing skills, I'm sure you could make the raptors act as moas.

I would love to have town clothes as individual items again. It's already in the game, or at least it was, and would add a few extra skins here and there

omg how do you not remember the snakes from the beta!? they were hilariously buggy! they were ambient creatures and if you killed them, their death animation would cause them to stretch to enormous lengths..... literally every single time. All I remember from those betas are the buggy snakes, being able to jump while sleeping and sitting, and portals not having a cap and crashing the server when a hundred people would take it all at once. (and getting an abyss dye)

One day we'll get the school outfit... one day. I know we just got one, but I still want this.
