The AK-101 and AK-102 use 5.56 rounds, not to mention the plethora of AKs made in the US that happen to be chambered in the same cal. as the AR-15s/M carbines
@@Devin7Eleven An AUG's _barrel_ can survive at least 20,000 rounds. The rest of the rifle will continue for another 40,000 before your first major breakage. And that first major breakage is usually your firing pin, which is a very quick fix _but_ it does require a little bit of percussive maintenance to open up the BCG to replace it. So springs and pins ought to be kept handy. The polymer components will keep running long after you're gone.
I hope the shotgun range and spread will be represented realistically unlike most shooter games which give them less range than a dart blaster and less accuracy than a 3rd grader's score on a theoretical physics test
From my testing, they're pretty onpar. It's super easy to miss with the 590a1 because the spread is realistically tight, whereas the m1014 is a little wider, but still pretty accurate.
Most shooter games tend to exageratted the shotgun spread due to most of it has average combat range of 30-50 meters which is tenth of average combat range in real life so it would make the rifles, especially sniper rifles useless if shotgun have same range as its RL counterpart.
@@govinlock8568 I beg to differ. Shotguns aren't only limited by range, but fire rate, recoil, weight, and ammunition capacity. There are many games which realistically simulate shotguns such as Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, where balance is maintained despite the shotguns having realistic spread and range. In real life, shotguns can hit targets well beyond 50 meters.

Another advantage to consider about bullpups is that, due to the mass being shifted back towards the shooter's shoulder, they are less fatiguing to hold than a conventional rifle. This results in the shooter being more accurate during longer engagements, especially if you attach things like lights and suppressors to your rifle that add weight to the front of the gun.
@@Shovel328 i think the ak 107 would be a safer bet, if i remember, its 5.56, but despite having a recoil dampening system, its still fairly reliable that comes in the form of a nato spec variant under the name ak108 but that also comes with the ak109 thats the ak, but in 7.62x39
My weapons would just be ether a AKMS a G3 for my rifles pistols are p320 FN 5.7 or 1911 and shotguns probably a pump action mossbeurg or Remington or Winchester m1897 and for smgs mp5 or p90 honorable mentions are the AUG tavor and FAL
i never shoot M16 or AK or bullpup but does that sounds kinda funny how M16 guy and AK guy say they don't like bullpup because it awkward to use but then they spend 10 hours per day training with their gun like if you train bullpup you probably be good at using it too right? or should i say "Skill Issue"?
I mean, considering that the zombies are being removed from the game at some point, it's an interesting choice to start off with a question about the zombie apocalypse.
"Zombies with no hands or feet can't kill you." Assuming that bites can turn you into zombies in SCP 5K as well, no that is entirely untrue. If you're careless and step next to a zombie that isn't dead yet, they can still try and bite you, and if that draws blood or even just breaks skin, you're done. Removing the head typically ends the threat of that individual zombie, but removing every limb on top of that, whilst probably overkill, pretty much guarentees that the zombie isn't a threat no more. That being said however, dismemberment is a good trick for dealing with zombies that can run and have a tendency to grab. It absolutely will save your life if done effectively. But assuming this is a typical zombie, (which runs, probably the only "atypical" thing about it) you *cannot* ignore the head. If it's got a head, it ain't dead, and it still poses a potential risk to you if you forget about it. As for my prefered weapon? I live in the UK, so firearms aren't really generally available for me, nor have I had the chance to try one out myself, so odds are, I'm not really using guns in such a scenario. If I lived in the states however? If I have to go loud, AR-15, easily. They're common as hell over there, (or so I'd assume) and I expect a fair few homes would have ammunition for it lying around. The problem would be any gun safes I'd encounter, but some of them probably aren't as secure as some would think, so if I can figure out how to bypass any locking mechanisms, it'll take time annoyingly, but it's doable. I really don't get why Max Brooks trashes the AR-15 though. They're reliable enough, but more importantly, they should be relatively common, as well as the ammo for it. I love AKs, but the russian ammo isn't readily available over in the States, I believe. (especially with the whole war going down) In any case the important thing to consider when picking your go-to gun for this kind of scenario is factoring in if the weapon is available, and more importantly, if the ammo is too. Perhaps you might have an AK-47 you really like, but beyond your stash of bullets, you're gonna have to find more in the long term, and that is going to be a bitch in the AK's case, for the above reason. AR-15's however? In a gun legal state, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to get a hold of one. I love videos like these. Zombie survival scenarios are just fascinating to me, even if they are probably never happening. That said though, we're probably more fucked if they start throwing eldritch horrors in on top of zombies. Zombies, we can probably deal with. Eldritch shit though? Nah, we're gonna need bigger guns, at best.
honestly i find that the guns that use 7.62 wind up being the most effective in this game, what with them being able to kill a zombie in only 2 bullets, as opposed to the 5.56/5.45 counterparts which take 3. so you save on ammo and kill faster when using one of those. i generally prefer the SG553R, since it has basically no recoil with a grip and compensator.
With bullpups, the reason velocity matters is because 5.56 fragments (and causes more severe wounds) at certain velocities. Naturally rounds lose velocity the farther they travel and therefore lowers the probability that it will fragment. Because of this, there's only 2 ways to extend the fragmentation range: bullet construction or letting the bullet exit the barrel faster. This is the advantage of bullpups, because the longer barrel allows more powder to burn and more expanding gas to push the bullet out faster and extend the fragmentation range and probability of the round Given it seems this game doesn't have engagements beyond 50m (from the gameplay shown), both a 10.3 inch MK18 and a 16 inch Aug would be well inside their respective fragmentation ranges. Bigger considerations in my mind could be muzzle signature or personal ergonomic biases
IIRC the muzzle blast of a MK18 makes it feel like a bloody autocannon has been shot just in front of you. Its blinding, loud as hell, and certainly not pleasant for extended periods. Hence why many people put suppressors or linear compensators on their mk18.

Engagement distances have been getting longer and longer with each update. Furthest I can estimate is 400-500 yards based on EOtech reticle estimation. Would be nice if fragmentation range was taken into account.
@@darththork99 frag range is roughly 2900-2700 ft/sec which when assuming M193 ammo yields: 10.3 inch barrel: 45 meters 14.5 inch barrel: 150-180 meters depending on specific ammo brand and load 16 inch barrel: 250-300 meters ammo brand and load dependent 20 inch barrel: 300+ meters. Altogether, back when the M16 was first issued there is a reason why it’s effective range was considered 300 meters. With M855 or the M855A1 your effective frag range would increase by about an additional 50-120 ish meters which would make sense as the effective range of a M16A4 with M855 and Acog is considered 450-500 meter ballpark in the USMC.
For me, i’ve got a Winchester model 1897 (yes the almighty trench gun) w/ the ridiculous 13 in (or something) bayonet, and a USP 45 for a sidearm. Also wouldn’t it be kinda cool being known as that one survivor walking around with a ww1 shotgun?
Assuming my friends have got AR primaries, Beretta 1301 is loaded with buckshot and slugs to take down any stragglers and focus on any mutated big boys.
My weapons? That's easy. For primary, MK18 Mod 0 with supressor, EoTech with magnification tube, laser on right rail, flashlight on left, FMJ rounds, and vertical grip. For secondary, FN Five-seveN with Trijicon SLR, flashlight on left and laser on right, supressor, and FMJ rounds. For backup primary, M110 SASS with EoTech. And don't forget the holster for all of the firearms! And the other things in case CI comes around.
I wouldn't go for a red dot on the handgun. Lots of small parts in a fragile package, along with the need for batteries, is a bad idea for a backup. I'd also recommend an LPVO or an ACOG over a holo with a magnifier on the rifle. While replacement parts for the holo itself wouldn't be hard to find, the magnifier is rare and expensive. It would also still lack the ability to accurately attack targets at longer ranges. While an LPVO is also rather expensive, and lacks replacement parts, it will enable both CQC and long range combat. If you're will to ditch the CQC aspect, just slapping on an ACOG would be the best option. Easy replacement along with good accuracy at medium and longer ranges.

@@docbrosstudio7680 sry, assumed this was a zombie apocalypse weapon. That said, if I was going into a mission, I'd only pack a single primary weapon. I assume you wouldn't be dealing with a rogue A-1 solo. I'd also still stay away from a red dot on the handgun, risk of breakage is too high. I will say that a holo is a good choice for that, as the optic will work with night vision
I'll tell you about section with ar15/m16/m4 and ak's That really depends on your place of habit. in Russia its easier to find ak and 7.62x39/5.45x39 because ak'$ there are main combat and military issues rifle there. In states it would be easier to find m/ar series because 5.56x45 And m/ar series are easier to find there. it really comes where you live. in Britain its easier to find standard bullpup than Ak. and vice versa
I Think in the real world, the AK vs AR argument comes down to where in the world you are, 5.45x39 is nearly non existent in the USA vs in areas like Russia and the Balkans where the round is common. Also, say your using an AK in the USA, Its going to be a lot harder to find parts for, Leading to the use of the AR-15 and vice versa.
A lot of bullbup issue can be solved with advanced manufacturing techniques. The trigger for example can be made to be no worse than the regular firearms. The awkwardness of the action and placement is hugely exaggerated. People have done tests and the different in speed is negligible. Like less than half a second or something with only a few minutes given to participants to familiarize with the bullbup. Snagging on gears is unfortunate but can be alleviate if people actually design a gear for bullbup instead of using traditional gear for the bullbup set up. X-95 tried and succeed in solving a lot of these issue outside of the trigger. And the trigger can be changed to be better. It's just if the military industrial complex will make the effort.
I would like to either use a rk62, or maybe a colt c7 since I like the colt because it's used by my countries military, is a good rifle and is quite modular with lots of mloc rail space and the night vision and thermal scope that is issued to some special troops and it is wonderful from what I have heard.
Its a kind of stupid thing to say that if you built a ak incorrectly it wont work. Like no shit it wont work. It gives the impression that the ak is bad for that reason and it is not completely correct since even the most fucked up ak can fire, it might no fire well and jam a lot but if the bolt is machined correcly it doesnt really matter how fucked up everything is it is fixable and is easily fixable.
What you show at 8:28 reminds me of the HK416, which is also an AR platform using a short-stroke gas piston system, and I believe that iteration of it puts it very on-par with the durability of the AK platform as well. What I tend to say is: The best choice between the two, is the one you have the most ammo for in the moment.

My top 5 zombie apocalypse loadout; 1. Any 9MM or 5.7 Handgun with 30 round magazine. My preferred is the Beretta 92XI Tactical. 2. Any 9MM SMG or 5.7 PDW. I heard MPX and MP5 has 40 round magazines. While P90 has 50 round Magazines. 3. RPK 16, very light for a machine gun with a 95 round magazine that can be reloaded like a rifle. 4. Any Assault Rifle, I personally prefer the Gemtech Integra. 5. Any AR10 for hunting and due to penerration power. Lets be honest a shotgun is part of any loadout but due to its low firepower and slow reload. Its hard to find a use in Military warfare and Zombie survival.
Shotguns are extremely effective, just ask the germans from ww2 where thetmy were so deadly and lethal, they tried to ban them. It all comes down to training and being that most go down after only 1 round, the other 7 in the tube are just insurance.
545 tumbles because of its long bullet, 556 tumbles from speed, and if you have the 55 grain instead of the 62, at certain speeds it has a chance of basically exploding (the bullet fragmenting from the energy transfer). Easier to do with a 20in gun than anyother even with the 45 grain V-max bullets, if you want max energy transfer, those are your tickets.
by all means, i love your content and have been binging your RoN vids (and rewatching them) for the past month and enjoyed every one i've watched, and what i'm about to say is meant to be taken as constructive criticism and isn't even gun related at all (and i'm not sure if anyone has noticed it too or its just me) but whenever you pronounce your "S", the hissing sound cuts straight through and sounds sharp as hell, idk if its because of your mic or a bad pop filter or a audio software thing, but i've noticed it in your past vids and it's pretty annoying, but nonetheless, your videos are excellent and i always look forward to a new upload
When it comes to ak vs ar comes down to parts availability and ammo availability. The afformentjoned section in the m16a1s reliablity is due to government mismanagement and to learn more id reccomend wendigoons video on the us governments mis treatment of eugene stoners acceptional design.
i love Light Machine Guns and Shot Guns but i prefer to use them in games with squads as it can be a pain if your solo praying the reload doesn't take too long and god forbid any interruption
Easy choice for me USP 9 compact and a Beretta 1301 tactical as the primary USPS is equipped with night sights and a compact flashlight and the Beretta 1301 is equipped with a 7 round magazine tube adjustable stock and I'm perfectly fine with ghost ring sights along with a 6 round side saddle on the receiver. A lot of people here are talking about finding replacement parts but I think what's important to point out is that in a real world zombie apocalypse you're only going to fire the gun for as many rounds as you can logically carry and a gun is easily going to outlast however many rounds you can carry as somebody who is a combat veteran I can tell you carrying a lot of ammo is no easy task especially when you have to carry other things like water food and Communications equipment I'm not worried about finding replacement parts because chances are I'll run out of ammo or I'll be dead before the gun breaks especially with modern technology of firearms
Best weapon for the zombie apocalypse? Provided we're talking a classic zombie apocalypse not SCP 5K specifically, you'd want survival firearms not something sexy. That pretty much means a Ruger 10/22 or similar .22LR semi-auto rifle. .22LR is still dirt cheap and likely the single most readily available ammunition in all of North America and Ruger 10/22s are among the most prevalent rifles in the calibre making spare parts and after market upgrades easy to find. It's lightweight ammo too so you can carry a metric ton of it , subsonic loads suppressed are quieter than the sound of the rifle's action cycling, and quality hollow points like CCi Stinger will put down just about anything with correct shot placement meaning, meaning you can take down a zombie or any game animal up to a deer with clean shots. The biggest downside would .22LR is VERY dirty ammo and can be finnicky so you'd have to be able to routinely clean your firearm to keep it in good working order and even then you can still expect stoppages. Another good choice would be a pump shotgun. It'll be loud, it'll kick, and ammo will be cumbersome to carry but 12 gauge shotguns are the most prevalent firearm in the world, being available in some configuration or another for civilian ownership even in countries will insanely tight gun control such as Japan, Britain, and Russia. There nerd out over.
Been following SCP 5K and want to see it do well, but one thing that has irked me ever since the beginning that hasn't been changed yet. Walking backwards and shooting is still the first order optimal strategy with no speed or accuracy penalty when the game is supposed to be a tactical shooter at heart. Even in Left 4 Dead, which is a relatively casual game is moving backwards and shooting a rather poor tactic compared to standing your ground or even pushing towards the zombies.
Weapons i would use of i had them: Vss Vitrones or As Val P90 M4 like mgs4 with a master key Pistols: Beretta 93R because of the 2 round burst Usp The best handgun ever made the colt single action army
At that point you both failed if you have to argue over it 9:36 in harsh times comes unity and action as long as you know how to use your weapon that’s all that matters
I do want to say although both the AR15 and AK series of rifles are both great, depending on where you are, one would be better than the other in terms of ammo availability (AR15 is better for America, AK is better in Russia for example).
as someone who has gone roughly 2500 rounds suppressed with no lube in an ar15, I can't help but laugh at the ak dorks especially since getting a good ak in the states will cost as much or more than a "gucci tier" ar15
still look at the ak, its so fucking cool, reliable just like that ak of yours and in europe the ak is cheaper because of a lesser import distance but more customs fucking about but there is zastava in serbia, there are the finnish ak's the romanian ones, hungarian ones and a lot more but these are the ones i know of.
@speedman69420 compared to almost any other ar platform, the AK is just bad. Not completely awful, just bad. And that's coming from people I know personally who have served with their own armed forces and were issued these firearms. 7.62x39 is objectively worse in every category compared to 5.56 and 5.45 is just anemic. It's cool but it's bad lmao. And the whole cost thing is more so from tariffs and what not

Its a bit like racing a f1 car from the 60's against one from the 00s. It's stupid and you know it. The gun you should compare the akm to is the original m16 from the same time, and dont tell me m16 was bad, that was because the army did an army and used a different powder than that was supposed to have used. It was designed by eugene stoner and james sullivan for a different powder and they used a cheaper one and told them it was self cleaning, which is wasn't. THe thing you can compare a modern ar to is a modern ak100 series and not the 47. 545 has it's tradeoffs, just like 556 has.
Never played the game, but my zombie kit is the FN Five Seven + P90 and a Shotgun. The 5.7x22mm round weigh less than 9mm but travel faster. The net result is two guns that across 3 mags each pack 210 rounds. The Shotgun is just there to be More Gun when needed.
If i had to pick a primary and secondary for zombies, I’d probably have to go with a 9mm PCC that takes Glock mags and Glock 19 or 17. Same ammo and mags, you can carry twice as many 33 round 9mm mags as you can 5.56 mags. If one of your guns goes down, you can still use all your mags in the other
personally in a zombie apocalypse (not scp since idk enough about it) my preferred weapon would be the p90, assuming i have access to the ammo, otherwise likely some other smg or bullpup type thing in a pistol cartridge like 9mm or 45. also with the addition to a suppresser, don't wanna be attracting even more attention lol
I'd like to add that direct gas impingement can have its reliability and less chances of fouling be doubled by either making it bigger, or *having another set of gas system.* KAC's 6x35mm PDW did the latter as it has 2 gas system And as for the bullpups concerning their trigger linkage, aftermarket trigger packs are available and widespread so there's no spongy feel when pulling the trigger, thereby one can fire as fast and be as accurate as a conventional firearm. So the argument about those is already invalid. And being bullpups their weight distribution is as balanced as they can be than conventional ones, ending up less tiresome to carry & you can maneuver faster in the long run One thing though. You forgot the God's Caliber, the 45 acp. One bullet per head in close range, especially zombies and entities
The Adder A magazine fed, repeating crossbow, by Joerg Sprave. Quieter and cheaper than firearms. Ammo is more or less recoverable if you get to scavenge after the engagement; if not, it's easy to craft, no special tools or gunpowder needed. Only downsides are fire rate and needing more than noodle arms to operate the lever action. Did I mention it's lever action? +5 style points PS: Sir Sprave has even showcased an apocalypse modded variant. It includes something of piledriver bayonet.
how did I just make the conection that scp 5k is scp 5000 "why?" so im asuming that you play as a rougue MTF aqaud, a military resisting or the GOC right?
I would rather not use optic or a holographic sight. Its a waste of battery in a zombie apocalypse. Iron sight is just enough for a zombie. If yes long engagement is required I'll use a standard scope no bats. Just sayin tho.
A medival bow for use on horseback(30 pounds or so) and a spear (and something to inflict blunt damage in case the zombies actually only use a small fraction of the brain as often said, because then a stab in the brain wouldn’t be enough)
christ this game is severly unfinished , horde mode sometimes breaks for no reason, the story mode's start is horrifying you have a knife and that is it, i enjoyed it then it just turns to a shitty "find the keycard" sure chapter one is cool but its supposed to be horrifying ready or not, not scp resident evil EDIT: Im going to play the new update since i didnt know it had one lol
