The crossover I never thought I would see. Following Matt for years and years almost day one and Brent was a RU-vid recommendation watched every episode of him. Both awsome content creator's.
Exactly I never thought I would see these two together watching Matt for litraly so long now and then watching Brent sense the beginning its awesome to see them
I have been following Brent since the beginning!! I love all he is doing at Cerro Gordo. Cried with him when the saloon burned down and am really looking forward to watching it be rebuilt, and am hoping to get an opportunity to visit and stay for a weekend. Continued support for Brent and hoping Matt start his own ghost town refurb as well.
Matt, I Love Brent's "Ghost Town Living" channel. Glad to see you featuring him. He's the man, having experienced the good, bad and the ugly of owning a ghost town. Hey! A guy doesn't really need a reason to own a ghost town .... Right?
Love Brent, I’ve followed him since he started his channel. Really pleased you’ve both met in person. He’s a really great guy with so much passion for what he’s doing. Amazing you’ve linked up. X
I remember watching Brent's first few videos thinking "this dudes gonna fall down a mine and kill himself". He was so under equipped and unprepared. Been awesome watching his journey building that town up and all the people coming to help him and teach him along the way. Keep it up Brent!!!!
Imagine turning a abandoned town into a town with cabins and a small bar, activities ect for us fans to come and rent out for a few days, keeping the abandoned feel though ;)
Matt do a taste test on those buckets with the whole family. I know other people want to see a full family reaction to them. You suggested it when you showed the other bins.
Yeah, and check out Cliff, over at The Urban Prepper. He is organized to the max and covers everything, as well as lots of guest RU-vidrs of the same variety, first aid/medical preppers, you name it. He does equipment tests, food taste tests, all sorts of things.
... Do the taste test away from home and the city ,,maybe a make believe truck breakdown in the middle of nowhere .... no fast food or any other restaurants around ...
I notice he said he walked into town because his truck wouldn't make it all of the way. Not that he did it at night in the middle of a blizzard. Or that he's rebuilt half of the town on his own and learned who knows how many new skills while doing it. Humble doesn't begin to describe him.
i love Brent, he's such a gentle and friendly person. Everything he does, he does it it with passion and love. I've been following his adventure with his ghost town for a while now and it's amazing how he is rebuilding everything, even with setbacks like one of his buildings burning down. Im glad you 2 met in person!
Do not separate your bags into different bags. If your “protection” bag gets lost, you lost everything in there. Spread it out evenly between each bag for your family
True, there are a few items I have spread out like fire starters and first aid supplies. I chose different color bags for each set of items and have a patch on them to be easier to identify.
Some people seem to be unaware of what is happening. What will happen. The tribulation. One of Darkest time in human history. one of the only one to come before the end of this system of things. It’s coming fast.
I agree, my son and I have double ups in our bags just in case. Emergency blankets, fire kits, food, medical, sewing, cutlery and can openers, torches etc
Matt, you don't have to explain yourself for being a prepper. We lived through 2020... Everyone should be prepared. (Also, 18 food distribution plants mysteriously have burned down in the last 6 months)
Don't forgot Demo! He needs his stuff also ready to go. As a vet you know what meds can be used for both you and him, so it helps alot with first aid kit!
Brent is one of my favorite people, that I don't personally know. I love his passion for history and Cerro Gordo. One day, I would love to go out there, meet him, see the town and help out however I can. I just worry that I'd fall in love with being there and not want to get back to my current life! lol
Matt, my “go bag” started with a really good first aid kit that includes things for gunshot wounds, Heaven forbid, and a ceramic water filtration system. I added extra fire starting devices, knives and other compact utensils. The backpack is a little heavy but it has everything I would need in an emergency, including emergency foods for extended time.
I’m loving the fact that 2 separate Channels that I follow have merged together. I would love to see Matt turn up on Brent’s Channel that would be awesome!!!
My emergency kit has fishing line and fish hooks as well, amongst other things. It's a good idea to have a way to catch fish, so you're not solely relying on hunting for meat.
You should consider what you would need to survive down in that bunker for extended periods of time, like a way to generate electricity without sunlight or fresh air, extra oxygen tanks, water storage, etc...
That was an incredibly emotional moment, cemented Brents passion for the town, but with everything comes a silver lining and it seemed like the turning point for people like Dave Sparks coming to help.
Never thought I would see these two collaborating together!! Wicked!! Brent is an awesome guy. Have watched his videos right from the beginning. His channel is a great history lesson and his content is the best there is. Great video!!!!
The collab I didn't know I needed! Been watching Brent since June of 2020. Been watching OffTheRanch/Demilition Ranch/ Vet Ranch for a lot longer I believe. Thank you, Matt and Brent!
I've been watching Brent from the beginning you should invite him back and have him on demo ranch and I was thinking even if you aren't able to buy a ghost town you could always build one on your property and name it Demolishion town
Matt. As an Air Force Veteran one thing that I would suggest that you get a good amount of gasoline/diesel for all your vehicles that you would want to use and keep a large amount stored for your personal use because we don't think about that as much as we should. Also make sure to have potable water that can be easily used even when the temperature gets to freezing and below. Good luck man. 👋👍😎
Love Ghost Town Living! Make sure you put food and medicines and pack for your dog too. Fill your pantry inside with lots of the foods you eat most. Seeds, fertilizers and water storage. Alternate power. Store electrical items in bunker. It may act as faraday box.
I've actually been following GTL since the very beginning. I love abandoned stuff very much, so it was right up my alley. It's a good channel, so go check him out if you wanna see some cool mining videos, or if you just appreciate history as much as he does.
@voltaicbore03 Honestly, from all the stuff I watch like Demo Ranch, and The Proper People, ghost stuff... it was a match made in heaven. I was immediately turned on by the idea of him fixing up that ghost town. I wanna go visit so bad, but I'm in Florida, so it'll be quite the trip, but I'm determined to do it. The algorithm did us right lol
Ive been a fan of Ghost Town Living since early on, I think only a few months after Brent started the channel. Kinda weird seeing my 2 favorite RU-vidrs randomly hanging out talking 😄
Brent is such a good dude. Definitely deserves the subs.. thank you Matt for doing that for him, Been a fan of ghost town living since he bought the ghost town. Been a fan of yours for even longer.. much respect Matt. Would be cool if you had a ghost town to.
Now that I see Matt's bunker in more kitted out form, it reminds me of Burt and Heather's basement from the movie Tremors. If someone came for you there in the bunker, they would have come for the wrong rec room (bunker). I just rewatched it on RU-vid while commenting and noticed how they were told whatever this beast was, it was under the ground.. they give each other a look at it breaks through one wall and they pan to the gun wall.. The rest of the crew hear them shout over the radio its here! ahh!! then radio silence. Every has a sad look until they hear all the gun shots... and they end up with a dead worm :P
This was such an awesome episode. Brent is such a cool guy. Awesome to see you both having a conversation! PLEASE do a vintage gun "ghost town shooting" episode at Demo Ranch with Brant behind a trigger or two or three. Would love to see that 🙏
I wanted to cry when I found out the Hotel burnt down. My wife and I had visited there and felt we had walked back in time. It's great to see how the RU-vid community is working together to rebuild the Hotel. Awesome! Big thanks to Dave Sparks and crew.
I find this guy to be very interesting. You can see his true passion for his project. New subscriber here. P.S. so if Roman and Britt are there does that mean the surprise is the Bunker is going to be doing Smile More merch?
Is their merch business that much bigger than anything the Bunker currently does? I figured WhistlinDiesel was a massive chunk of the Bunker. The timing does make sense though.
THANK YOU! It was bugging me for ages trying to work out who it was...I had vague memories of their last visit but I couldn't place their faces to the channel! 😅
Brent is great with lots of energy and a litt bit of crazy, just like Matt🤣. I watched ghost town living from the beginning, even got a nail from the American Hotel. This is the meeting of two of my favorite channels. God bless
For the full demo experience, I feel like it should be an abandoned missile silo. Or at least a uuuge bunker. Complete with a gun range, gokart track, merch area, and whatever else screams demo ranch. And whats above it on the surface? Bunker Branding 3.0!
Matt you should research Love Valley North Carolina, a small town built as a western town . population around 100. Purpose built for one person's idea .It is kind of what you are planing . It has a no auto rule but horses walk the st. May be easier to make it then buy a ghost town and have to fix everything . Really enjoy your channels
Brent is awesome. Been subbed on his channel since it started too. Nothing wrong with being prepared for natural disasters. My wife and I keep food and such for hard times.
So glad to see you meeting Brent. I've had a nightmare of surgeries last 5 years and you two and your posts have really had an amazing impact in recovery. Thank you so much for all you guys post!
The reason why I watch both of these channels is that I am thinking about what I would do if it were me in that situation and then when I see what they do it end up being so much bigger and better than I imagined.
since you already have a semi fortified mountain, you should put a decent sized greenhouse for mere and the kids out back, they can just keep flowers or you could grow some of your own food, youve already had the chickens before lol.
BRENT! My other favorite channel that I watch religiously. So funny how he went from being afraid and nervous of mines to actually spending the night in the Union mine and all his adventures in that mine and others. Awesome to see him on Off the Ranch.
Prep gear ideas. - gas masks - gaffer tape. - tarps - water proof pewpew holder & water proof case for involuntary lead poisoning pills. - Vaseline covered cotton balls in ziplock bag. (Fire starter and skin care lol)
Have one "Go bag" for everyone in your family. It should contain a sleeping bag with bivy bag, tarp, water/purifier, food, a windproof/rainproof layer of clothing, a set of clothing that fits your climate. Please have a good set of shoes/boots for everyone. You should pack for 72 hours (then you will always be able to travel from a broken down car to a city without worry). All of this should fit into a standard hiking backpack. I work with force recce in Scandinavia. We have a different climate than texas. But the basics are the same Love your videos!! Keep it up
Its nice to see you and Brent get together. Been watching both the abandoned mansion and ghost town living since the beginning. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Definitely stock more food. Second have a well drilled that has a hard pump head on it. There's water filter systems that you can build to filter your water. Last but not least make at least enough bug out bags for each person in your family. Love this vlog and I've been following the ghost town guy since heavy D went up there. Keep it up
I have several different bags and each serve a purpose. Also get paper maps. -First aid/food bag -Gun bag and ammo is vacuum sealed to protect from wet conditions -Tech bag which includes HAM radio, battery power bank, multiple phone power cords, drone, satellite phone, handheld Garmin GPS device, thermal binoculars and a few other items.
This is one of the best things I have ever seen, I absolutely love both of yawl's outlooks on life and to see you two come together is just an absolute joy. ♥
love brent's channel been watching him for a good while. as far as a prep bag you got a killer start, a good knife, hatchet or saw, and some form of paracord is always good things to have with you if things hit the fan.
This is a great Collab. I have been watching Brent's channel for many months now and it's super interesting, and sometimes very nerve-racking for someone who is kinda freaked out about going into caves or mines. lol
Matt get a hold of Heavy D Sparks and ask to tag along next time he goes down to Cero Gordo, the only way to truly experience what a ghost town can be is to go to one.
Thank you Matt for doing this we need to get more people involved in mining mining in general the history and everything very proud to see that you did a collab with this guy thank you
the original mining men had nerves to be left at shaft entrances - my grampa was one in FlinFlon- i've explored a few too - no matter how many times you go back - you always run out of time
This is the channel crossover the universe desperately needed, awesome that Brent was able to come out and visit to chat with you about crazy projects and ghost towns!
Get one of those water filter straws. You can attach them to a gravity bag. This way you can get clean water out of any water source. Also get a lock pick kit or bolt cutter. And some parachute cord, comes in handy.
You should start growing a vegetable and herbal garden. Then you can can all of it and store it in your basement or dig a root cellar. Canned foods can last for years. When my cousins were selling their grandparents farm, they found jars of canned foods in the house that had been stored for over 50 years. They opened one up expecting it to be bad and stinky, but their dad said "let me try it". He ate one of the apple slices and it was still good. Then the kids tried it and they liked it to. They now have a life time of food in each of their basements.
Blown away at the support for Cerro Gordo!! Been watching Brent since the beginning and seeing him collab with OTR was amazing!!! Best of luck to the both of you!
honestly never saw this one coming, all the years Ive watched you, & Ive been watching Brent since he started making videos at the town. now yall are in one video!!?! lets gooooo
