22:35 Zoanoids in Guyver don't really have free will of their own, not all the time at least. Zoalords can command them as they like, forcing them to transform, and do their bidding etc. That's why Guyver is kind of a big deal to them, among other things, they can't control the person using the unit.
Although I know virtually nothing about the Guyver anime/manga, I do think the second movie they made is pretty cool, especially considering the protagonist is played by none other than Solid Snake himself :D
#Deusdeacon if your reading this I wish I could help in any way by any means..I've watched your videos from vlog series to all movies, tv series, gameplays, even audiobooks, if I could make of list of all my favs of your reviews I would top Constantine as the best critic's on your behalf and that doesn't mean the other reviews aren't any different from your own personal opinion I'm just glad your back and if I could give you support I would...just short on my end that's all I enjoy all your reviews everyday I get a chance to and I would even watch again you bring..hmm listen to me rambling on just so you know you have my full support even when I'm not on the list of supporters I wish you the best to become a sensational candidate for what you believe in and achieving..and good day to ya
Oh and ofcourse all your H.P lovecraft is by far the top my list aswell I mean c'mon who wouldn't want to see Sam Niel in The Mouth of madness from time to time
I'm getting tired of remakes but there's some serious potential with this one. I remeber this movie when I was a kid. Watching 100s of times. Wouldn't mind seeing seeing a visually more appealing and more serious version
I seriously wouldn't mind a Love, Death & Robots type anthology series for a Guyver reboot. Like every episode shows new characters or Guyver hosts, with some connective tissue to show that it's all connected.
I casually came across your videos years ago and did some binge-watching. I forgot to subscribe and spent a good hour trying to find you again. Glad I finally did.
I do love the Guyver anime, and always thought it would be so damn cool to have one. The movie I always heard was a mixed bag, and totally looks it, but you are right about the effects, totally top notch.
I've missed you on my screen, Andy… Gotta say, I too prefer the sequel and, like with you, it's what got me into the franchise; can't wait for your next review. ❤️
I remember this movie. I've only seen pieces of it. I remember when I first saw it. Sadly, it was not long after my grandmother had passed, because I was at her house and it came on TV. I don't remember how I first heard of the movie, but I did know Mark Hamil was in it and watched it only for that. I only saw a bit of the end at that time. No matter how bad it is, it's something I watch because it kinda comforted me back at my grandma's house.
After this review I watched the anime. God damnit where you correct, I was immediately hooked and binged the first season yesterday. Great stuff! Thanks for introducing it to us!
New subscriber here and am binge watching almost all of your reviews (from oldest) am at The Ring now and just had to say...Why the hell dont you have more subs! You serve out very good and entertaining content and it is a travesty that this has not been recognised yet. I look forward too the rest of your channel, keep up the great work.
awww yeah glad to see more of your videos!!, you just made my day!! i remember seen this movie and mistakin the title with the other anime series gulliver boy
I just started watching your reviews/breakdowns like 2 weeks ago, and all of them seemed to be from within like a month period in 2015. Im glad to see you actually make new ones (granted I only went based on recommended next videos and never at the actual page)
Thanks for your great content ( and introducing me to Die! she said) You deserve a lot more followers and views and I'll try to do my part in expanding those.
@@deusdeaconReviews like the zoom in on all the letters connecting together, the names slide across the screen, and at the end it glows just like in Terminator.
Guyver was my first manga, first mature anime and the second movie was my introduction to sci-fi horror and The Guyver as a hole. It is great to see Deusdaecon cover this.
Glad to see your review again and glad to see you tackle a charcter that meanta a lot to me(even if i gave up on the manga...at this point it will never be finished)
Guyver dark hero is one of my favorite movies ever, just watched it a couple of weeks ago, own it on DVD. Also been watching the OVA anime on YT. There is even an older one I didn't know about called Guyver out of control. Missed you reviews man glad your back with these can't wait to see the sequel review.
I just watched the first Guyver movie for the first time in…maybe 20 years, was looking for something to watch after, and almost everyone else has posted boring, pandering bullshit. I stumbled on your video, saw that you started with the anime, and knew I’d found the right video. You’ve got a new subscriber, sir! Edit: I found *one* other video that was worthwhile. *One* - and I already watch that channel. Cheers. 🍻
Ah, so you are posting new videos. Yeah, RU-vid recommended one of your videos to me about a week or so ago. Been looking through your older videos. Couldn't believe how many I agree with your viewpoints on. But yeah, you got me to subscribe while you were away, and now I know can look forward for more. 😉
@@deusdeaconReviews Your review of Ginger Snaps was the one that specially sold it for me, seeing as that's my favorite movie. And making a little stinger of Brigitte from the second, makes me smile each time. Thank you.
Yay ! Like AnimeAlliance (poster below), I too recently discovered your channel and found it wonderful. You do such a good review / style and you have enough snark / comedy moments mixed in (which still feel fully genuine !). So - yeah, thanks for making all these reviews for us ! Also, was curious if you'd ever continue your Lovecraft Movie playlist / series, and do "Necronomicon", from 1993 - as well as Whisperer in Darkness (2011) - ! :-)
I guess the what I wanted is slowly coming true. I've been saying for about two or three weeks that The Guyver franchise needs the respect it deserves and more people need to know about it after I told my cousin about the 2005 series. The first live action wasn't that great but I still watch it but the sequel really did a good job. I can't wait for review the sequel and hope you'll review the three different Animated versions
Here's hoping you cover Guyver:Dark Hero soon. I was a huge fan of the Anime and Manga as a kid. My folks probably shouldn't have let me check it out when I was that young, but I enjoyed it and it's cultivated a love of anime to this day for me. When I saw there was a live action rendition on the shelves of my local Blockbuster, I was ecstatic. This excitement was obviously short lived. However I still got excited again when I heard there was a sequel. I was optimistic that "Maybe they'd come closer this time...?" Thankfully my hopes weren't misplaced. I'm again feeling that same nostalgic excitement knowing you will be reviewing the sequel to what was ultimately a disappointing adaptation.
Great to see a new video. It was awesome! Glad that your still doing reveiws looking forward to the next one. Also the character striker does remind a lot of a Power Rangers villian cause they actually do fight a rapping monster in one episode. Lol
I remember when I first watched this on Sky Movies when I was in my teens and loved it (as bad a B Movie as it is, and it was called Mutronics when it first aired in the UK). After a few years I discovered it was actually based on an Anime (thanks to computer magazine Mean Machine, I think it was, having collectable post cards of the anime, although it could have been CvG) and saw the original dubbed anime on Sky channel Bravo. The 2nd film has to be one of my favourite films, and I'm really looking forward to seeing your review of it. It's also funny you mentioning that this film sort of feels Power Rangery, as the effects team went on to do a version of Masked Rider (Dragon Knight) which while still kid friendly, I felt was actually very well done (and had Mark Dacoscos in it towards the end of the series , who has been one of my favourite martial artists since I first saw him in the Crow TV series).
Just imagine, this could have been such an amazing Action/Horror movie, similar to Predator. But instead we get Saturday morning cartoon with amazing effects.
Great channel and even better reviews/commentary Would it be possible to review a movie called Demonoid? Also known as Demonoid: Messenger of Death it is from 1980
I think the overdose of lore is an artifact of the way anime are often made as a introduction to long-running manga series. "See, we have a whole universe to explore!" It used to be really frustrating back in the 1990s to buy a subtitled anime tape to learn it was an "intro" to a manga series that would never be available in the USA.
I grew up loving the anime and I hated this movie. Your review covered alot of my feelings about this movie. I would love to see a new Guyver movie (US or Japan) made today.
The movies were my introduction to the franchise as well. I love the anime both the old one and the one from 2005 and while it doesn't seem likely to happen I would love it if this movie was rebooted especially if it was given a more serious tone.
The Guyver has one of the best movie intro themes ever!. I would say if this would get a remake, give it to Blumhouse, they're a staple in horror and sci-fi. It could be gory and have good practical effects. Steve Wang did a great job with the effects in this. This movie didn't know what it wanted to be, sadly, comedy was a high no for me, JImmy Walker shouldn't have been in this, he's a real funny guy though. Now the sequel was awesome.
