@@BeingGood79 After listening to this track I have just learnt by reading the comments that he passed away in December .I live in NZ and I only got to learn about him through RU-vid. I understand he didn't like to travel but he would have found a good audience here and I think also in Australia and elsewhere.

Nice version. A very nice version is by Skeeter Davis on RU-vid. However, we, the adoring listeners, appreciate EVERYONE'S efforts to share music for our enjoyment. Music does unite, I think. Keep up the great work! Regards from Tasmania.
If you don't want me I won't try to keep you But there's just the smallest chance you may be wrong Until you're sure I hope you'll never let go Of the hands that you've been holding for so long
The hands you're holding now if you remember Are the very hands that gave you your first rose They're reaching out for one last dying ember In the ashes of a love that lost its glow

I've got news for you people. Mary Robbins wrote this song and recorded it. It's a very pretty cover version but Marty Robbins actually wrote it. It credited to him.
Posting wrongly lists Lloyd Snow as the songwriter. In fact it was written by Marty Robbins who was from Glendale Arizona ( just outside Phoenix) U.S.A. and one of C&W music’s greatest stars.
