I've been carrying an Olight S10R Baton for about a year now and am entirely impressed. Haven't once even though about replacing it. Really digging on this Nova H1R though. What a cool light! The fact that it can be easily used as a headlight is huge.

I have one of their older S10R baton lights that I really like. This new light looks like it is very practical and as you say versatile indeed. I may have to check this out for sure. Thanks for sharing brother.

Olight is a brand I never disappointed. My EDC light is small Olight and I have an Olight Valkyr gunlight on my Glock. This is the next one to go for. Thank you for this review!

H1R looks nice. At the end of the day I'm looking at around AU$100. for this light. I'd hate to lose the little sucker.

And it weights only 50 grams. Remove the battery cap and clip before putting on headband so you don't stress the rubber rings.

Only bad part is if you lose/break charger you're screwed. Cant even charge the special battery in a regular charger

i like the model, bit i prefer the AA batteries, if they make a 2 AA batteries model, i'll get one. my solar chaeger can recharge de usb cell it is a good combo.

I own a baton s15r and it's been like 7 months since I bought it and it's not working now. I'm looking into any warranty olight might have I'll get in contact with them and I'll give and update.

Has anyone had any problems with this light in the cold? Mine went out on me this week when the temperature got down below 20F, even after a full charge. Went back on when warmed up.

Please read. I have wanted to but several lights made by olight and the ONLY thing that has stopped me from buying them is the proprietary charging system. If the charging cable breaks, you are forced to buy one from olight. If it was micro USB (which many other brands are) I would own many olight products. Any suggestions on lights that have non proprietary charging cables?

multiple flashlights use that retention clip method and it royally sucks it loses retention after regular use and you will lose you flash light, my only criticism. a few companies use that style and I've lost two flashlights due to retention clip failure.

I own three O-Light's and haven't had any problems with the clip retention.

The clip is very strong and can be bent back into shape if it loses its form. Its actually hard to get off the light. Theres always room for improvement in this respect but can't see it being an issue with this light.

it's a good light...been looking at it...but a bit pricey...found this light...same configuration, bit larger,higher lumens, takes 18650, CR123s and RCR123s. Not a fan of the CR123s as mAh is so low...compared to an 18650...ipx-8, and about half the price. www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_391921.html?wid=21

Retail me not is a good place to find coupon codes for gearbest, and a ton of other sites...and gearbest has a big sale on right now..for pretty much everything...and a slew of coupon codes. But check out retail me not for coupon codes...but be careful....if gearbest's discount is higher than the coupon code...9 times out of 10...it'll increase the price buy using the coupon code...so pay attention. www.retailmenot.ca/

I was going for portability here so am not put off by the CR123, glad you found something decent at gearbest, unfortunately as its a non name brand I question the warranty, I know that gearbest shipping takes forever so I imagine that there returns are far worse!

actually....anything I've bought from gearbest that I had trouble with....they told me to just keep...and sent me a new one....the one flashlight that I had trouble with....they sent me a new one....then when that one didn't work....the refunded my money, never asking me to send the product back to them......most stuff that is free shipping usually takes a month...but for a couple extra dollars...you can get it in 15 to 20 days...I'm not saying everything is high quality coming from the website....but they do have lots of quality stuff and good customer service...though the language barrier does slow it a bit...it's not the 1980's....when the only thing coming out of china was garbage...they tend to make everything these days....and because they make a ton of products for american companies...the quality has gone up on a lot of chinese company products... I'm canadian like you and have no affiliation with gearbest besides shopping on the site...

I wouldn't call it a "none" name brand...it's just not a well known brand in North America. Olight and Thrunite weren't well know til a few years ago either....
