Y'all are forever entertaining. I'm the weird kid who grew up loving to listen to the old folks telling stories. Now I'm the old folk, and yall tell me wonderful stories.

My in-laws are buried at Mountain Home and it is a beautiful place. In college it was a favorite place to go and find peace and beauty.

My sister and brother-in-law live in Johnson City. They go to Mountain Home cemetery when they have veterans events. I've never been but they tell me it is a peaceful and beautiful place. Thank you for the interesting history lesson. I really enjoy your stories of the Appalachia area.

Next time you come to Johnson City you should definitely visit, if even just for a good walk. Thanks for the kind comments and we're glad you like our stories!

Growing up in Clintwood, I used to think of Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City as being big cities. Well, they're cities, anyway. Each had malls, and I remember going out to the malls with my friends on a weekend. Driving much of the day to get there and back, we made the most of each visit. Fond memories of those trips. I knew of Judge Parker before this video, as I am something of a history buff. "The Hanging Judge" was himself, a very interesting character. I didn't know a lot about Maledon before this though. It's always great to get a new video from the two of you on RU-vid. I've been following the podcast since you guys started out. I was just talking about some of your Clintwood-centric episodes with the mrs yesterday!

Thanks, as always. It's fun to do a Dickenson County story, especially since Rod is related to a lot of the folks involved in those bits of history!
