Thank you for coming to my defense. This was supposed to be a video about the bathing system. My tub setup is old but quite functional. It is a full sized human tub on a wood frame. It uses a washing machine hose with a garden sprayer attachment that works very well. The sloped bottom of the tub is especially functional for the Bathing Beauty. The shower curtain is replaced as needed,
I don't know what anyone had said Barbara but I want to thank you for explaining this so well. I shall be thinking of your "top to bottom, front to back" when I use my submersible bathing system.
I have decided to get a shower curtain hanger to put a temporary shower curtain around my tub in my bathroom so water doesn't hit the wall. You know, those old time looking ones for the claw tubs. And, I bought an extra hose from Hanvey, so now I have one that connects to the pump and one that connects to my faucet, so I don't have to change anything out...now I have to get a spray bottle and get some fabric softener. I'll be all set for my Belgian Tervuren.
Thank you so much for this video! There's still not much info online about the Hanvey Bathing Beauty system, but this video answered the primary question I had: how does it wash the dog when sitting in water that's becoming increasingly dirty as the wash progresses. Thank you for commenting on this in your video :)
I would have loved to seen that dog after it was dry. Just a quick shot. You wouldn't have had to go through the whole table grooming process, thanks for the help on this, though, was wondering about the rinsing. I have three Belgians, not a groomer, but feel I can do a better job with my dogs at home.
Great video, I just purchased the Havey Bathing nozzle and hose attachment and a utility pump from Lowes. Trying a DIY home bathing set up. Can you tell me the silicone product you are using and does it condition the coat or just keep mats at bay. Thank you
she probarly has more experience than all of the negative comment people have in total, she is kind to the dogs and I would leave a dog with her no question
I use a similar set up at my shop (although my tub is a bit bigger to accomedate great danes and saints that visit) with a home build surround. I use a garden hose with a garden attachment as well, which helps to get down through double coats better than most commercial attachments. I think this set up is fine :)
Sorry you feel the need to be so judgemental. 1) "Tearless" is a marketing concept, not a product reality, there is no industry standard of what constitutes tearless. At the extreme dilution used in the bathing system there is little chance of eye irritation. When we have to scrub with direct shampoo around the eyes we use a different product. 2) There is nothing dangerous or toxic about using fabric softener to break down suds in a tub. 3) I like my tub set up. It is a full sized human tub.
Thanks. Jill, for the lovely reminder of my dear Gracie, who has long passed. She was a real sweetheart! Yes, we are recirculating dirty water. The dirty stuff is held in suspension by the shampoo surfactants. That's what they do. The dirt and germs are not able to be redeposited on the cleaned surface because they are trapped by the anionic micelles of the detergent. The recirculating bathing system works much the same way as a washing machine. I think the electric cord is 9 feet.
As for her setup, I don't understand what has you miffed? It's close to the ground incase someone jumps out, the tub is fine for the size of dog she is bathing, and all the bottles I see are clearly labeled? What's to say this isn't just her home and she is demoing here and not at her grooming shop? And if not, who cares? The tub is clean, the curtain simply makes cleaning easier and bathing less messy, and both the dog and grooming are relaxed.
I'm sure not if you are a groomer, and where you leave your dog is your choice, but there are a few things I would like to point out. First, although the shampoo she uses is organic and is not tear free, it is not going to kill her dog to have it on her face. The dog isn't stressing and is being good, so why not? I know many groomers who do not use face shampoo. Fabric softener is toxic if ingested, and I have a feeling you wash your clothes with it, so there really is no difference.
