Gilmour can't write a good song to save his life, Waters is one of best songwriters ever. Now if you mean the live shows you should check out the delicate sound of thunder and pulse which are Gilmour Floyd and compare it with in the flesh which is waters solo. In those it is absolutely the opposite: Gilmour's Floyd is all about the show with lasers and flying pigs and stuff and Waters is only there with his band with no special effects.

The original was a brilliant piece of music - this rendition polishes it to a diamond. Tremendous imagery and stage craft - this is a show I would love to see live.

This is the real deal. “Pink Floyd” nowadays sans Roger is less authentic than Roger Waters. This is the writer, the man, the brain behind it all.

Seen Rog so many times over the years. Never disappoints, always a strong ethical message. This is the deeper more thoughtful side of Pink Floyd and beyond.

This never gets old. Best thing that happened to me was that when I was nine years old (1993), my father played me some of his favorite records and there where couple of classics from Pink Floyd. I never forget that moment when these songs bursted out of those speakers. In that day, I found my religion and that was music.

I am 13, and a couple of months ago I never heard nor listened to Pink Floyd's music. I've heard their name, I've heard plenty of things about them, but just never their music as I always thought they were one of those satanic rock bands as I am a Christian and stay careful of music that may be satanic. At that time, I only ever listened to Queen and a couple other rock bands along with christian music bands. Until one day in my classroom, my teacher put on a radio station and this song came up. When i heard it, it made me feel...different. I cannot describe it but it changed me with new perspectives, new feelings, emotions, it really felt like a wall made of bricks just exploded and I have changed...I was outside that wall and finally knew the magic and genius of Pink Floyd. I'm glad that my thoughts, original expectations, were false. They weren't satanic, their music wasn't necessarily evil or bad. Although I listen to rock more than ever and am still trying to get into my religion and it's music more and more, I will never forget the moment where I and the rest of my class heard that song...it will always be just another brick in the wall.

I'm Christian too, well I act like one... at the least- more importantly I believe, so things like music that has a power to influence well or ill, I can't ignore it. I've been listening to pink floyd for years, and although many claim it to be drug related- that's their take on pink floyd, they're not a band never were a band who condoned drug use, they were much more about expression of their own truth like any single person or group will do in any case naturally or through their own influences in their lives precepts passed on what not, you'll be surprised that back in the day many Christians listened to pink Floyd's music, I think because there is an interpretation of the world's horrible truths expressed obscurely in they way that is like when your eyes have been opened and all you see is injustice and suffering your conscious mind has awakened to a whole new level and you want to shout out and stop it all from happening! Pink floyd struck a similar chord in me, and that is comforting to know you're not alone and there are so many non believers who already have this awareness in the world and can see. Pink Floyd in my opinion like most artists do touch on these subjects in their way, obscurely or clearly to reach anyone listening to their music, lyrics, that's the way the world is whether you're of any faith or not. Pink floyd don't praise themselves or others in their music, they say what they see and they are only men not in anyway shape or form demigods but are professionals maybe because they love what they do. God takes pleasure in our pleasure when we succeed at being good at something that is good. And anyway how can a song writer write about anything else than their own experiences, objections, beliefs and opinions, and how can that be bad! It's part of what makes us human. But Maybe, if it is clearly or subtly an effort to tempt or sway someone off away from a righteous path towards something un beneficial... then you should know that for yourself with your own mind. The lyrics here- I don't need no thought control, a certain type of controlled education system that compromises a soul's free will, God's gift to everyone, this song to me stands up against this type of systemic oppression of a younger generations choices to be themselves, in schools, worse more in some countries than others.. given only the choices that the world demands of them based on who you are and where you're from, only a very small miniscule percentage actually break the mould and make it themselves, God gives us the desires of our heart, these are talents a talent is a measure of potential to spend on what you are genuinely interested in, to become whatever you genuinely want to be, the Christian view is if its given by God then its 100% possible, genuine interest cannot be forced... so the difference lies there. Knowledge of that truth being suppressed to suit the needs of an unsustainable way of life that serves only the vastly rich and powerful. Our lives are shorter and full of more pain because of others greeds... unless you allow the truth to challenge you to think for yourself and those who are within your circle of influences benefit.
