Call me old fashioned, but back in the day, the game was released AFTER it was finished.

Those rant on executives is just on point. This game is literally getting the treatment of cyberpunk 2077. The devs are rushed and pressurised to release the game even if it is not completed yet because of the deadline. I feel bad for the devs as much as hatred against these higher lazy ass people who just care about money. Games have just become another business where profits are prioritized higher than experience. I hope and wish the working people there all the best so that we can get a good satisfying product at the end.

Dirty tricks like DS Lore Pack disappearing from the store after one hour, nerfed Venom and Devel, Garage store over 20 not existing, bugs like multiplier error 29, iPhone Pro overheating, chat for 3 words and on and on. Terrible UI and overall experience

For me it is a mistake and I am going to go on a rant here so stick with me okay: Out of 100% of players 70% of players are android player 20% are Pc, Xbox and console and the remaining 10% are iOS. So out of 70% of android 40-50% of players use low end to medium end device. And the new unite update is just a graphics update and what this means is that 40% which use low end devices can't play. I don't have the stats but I am pretty sure that in the next 2 to 3 weeks asphalt unite will lose up to 50% of it player base. When the hype die down that when the truth is going to come out. Asphalt 9 was a perfect game sure it has flaws but it was much better. I am disappointed in Gameloft big time

Bro you forgot to mention the store , it's the biggest lie they told ,they haven't added those cars to the store they did only for the premium card packs , which contains the normal cars too , it's actually a scam

I just can't understand how i suppose to choose a game like asphalt over forza ,NFS, grand tourismo ...in pc/consoles.this game needs to be more optimised for phones that is the thing GL needs to know

The phone version of this game is a downgrade easily I can't play in max graphics my phone overheats and fps drops, and this is affecting my performance to drive the cars I'm now a worst player compared to 1 week ago

My laptop Used to play the game at 90 fps with high graphiques, now i cant even get a stable 60 fps on the LOWEST POSSIBLE settings , i hope they optimize the game

I'm on android and yes, the game now runs and looks like sh** :) Most people understand that it is hard for devs to optimize for android. They should just give players access to advanced graphics settings instead of just 3 presets. That way everyone could optimize options for himself and choose resolution/details/antialiasing/motionblur etc.

Asphalt Legends Unite, for a "new" game, has surprisingly gone pretty well in terms of initial launch. Remember, we've had massive catastrophes like Cyberpunk 2077, which was SO BAD that even a 2000-dollar RTX 3090 couldn't run the game at a stable framerate. Yes, there are "issues", but it's still important to appreciate the devs for what they've come up for a "launch day game", as said by @CarsOnGaming in the video... My experience so far... Is a mixed bag. The Windows version, while it doesn't have "graphical glitches", it does force me to reduce the settings in order to get a stable 60FPS (although it uses the CPU and GPU like crazy). The worst issues of them all however, are the broken Overclock menu (it just doesn't open at all), and Gameloft acting as if ad packs and multipliers didn't exist on Windows version... The Android version though, it's in a real mess. My Snapdragon 778G phone struggles to maintain a stable framerate. As Cars On said in the video, Vulkan is technically better, but the way it is implemented in Android now needs a lot more improvement. Also, there are shimmering artifacts everywhere, so yeah... All I can say is, time and updates will eventually solve the lags and glitches. Its saddening for the ones who cannot straight up play the game though...

I have s24 ultra and started playing asphalt 9 recently, and the game was super smooth. After this new update, i have to say graphicwise game is improved, but battery consumption and temperature are also increased. And sometimes i face minor framedrops.

Vulkan is a relatively new graphics API compared to DirectX which you're probably familiar with on windows or OpenGL and Metal. While it offers more control over graphics processing (like improving quality at very little cost of performance), it might have compatibility issues with older hardware or drivers. It has the potential to give better performance and graphics, but the problem with ALU lies in its wonky optimization. Knowing that the majority of players are from the lower segment of android users, it would be no time until complaint arrives.

pretty sure they promised better performance for low end devices, its just that the game is broken on android right now the update was rushed and they probably didnt have the time to test it properly, there's a good chance the game will still run on low end phones as long as they support vulkan

When Asphalt 9 Legends was still a thing, it was fine to play on my Xbox Series S, and it rarely crashed, only when I played more than an hour straight and when it's on the loading screen. Now that Asphalt Legends Unite came out, it feels a lot smoother design/performance-wise, but it began to crash so much while on racing that I couldn't play for 10 minutes straight anymore. And the worst of all is that this has happened more than 10 times in 3 days in a row since the expansion update was released. I decided to not to play the game anymore, temporarily or permanently.

Imo GAMELOFT should give an option to the players to select the types of graphics they Want! Like if they want Old Style graphics or New style Which i think we can download ingame They should give players a option to download old style graphics It would be a lot better

Having to disable my GPU because it simply couldn't handle any of the graphics settings (laptop kept shutting down) was annoying. The missing adverts on the Windows platform is equally annoying. Prior to the update there were Card Ads Packs, Credits and Tokens Ads Bundles, Ads to refill Event Tickets quicker, Ads to refuel cars quicker and Ads at the end of an event to increase Race Reward Credits. Incredibly useful for us noobs. They're still there on Android so hopefully it's a simple fix for Gameloft.

Bro, the game feels very different from before. It is obvious that it is a new game engine. Drifting feels very different compared to A9, at least for me. I wrote a bit long about the video, but I would appreciate it if you read it. And I appreciate that you care about the developers. You are very right about this. They didn't want it to happen like this either. This makes me think that he is an impatient and spoiled child placed in charge of a huge company. The only thing he cares about is money, he doesn't care about getting something done right. In such a case, the developers should of course be understood, but they should give us an apology reward and this time the managers should be badly affected. I think an easier DS9 might get the job done. But never mind, they'll pay you 5 tokens again. :/

In terms of technical issues, I think Gameloft intends for the game to be better and they're gonna fix them with time. Personally, I can run the game at 120+ fps on highest settings when I could only run 60 and medium in the past. The bigger issue for me right now is that the game is just dead for casual players with the new implementations. MP is too long, ads have been completely removed, Car selection can lock you out of MP (currently, you cannot play in Legend League if you are F2P), previous MP cars like SLR and ZR1 are gone etc. In A9, you could play 20 or so minutes daily and still have decent progress, but that's impossible in ALU.

Ok this new asphalt was sincerely and clearly designed for pc and consoles to get the best experience. I feel really bad for phone users😂

I am glad I am not the only one who finds the new multiplayer system to be a completely failure. Back then I didn't understand why I had to race against cars that are normally used in Gold series in Silver series but now it has gotten even worse. Plus not all your cars are available in the multiplayer mode anymore, I can not longer use my Formula E car, which makes things even more ridiculous.

cars on, i agree on most points. I am using 888+ snapdragon processor with 16 gb ram and the game is extremely laggy and i do see black screen on the start. What we are talking about are the high end mobile devices just 3 years old is already giving up. They screwed up on MP system. Now, i dont have any issues with Devs as i am a dev myself. However, the communication from CM/GL is something i had stressed in the past. All we need is assurance that they are/will look into it. What seems to be happening is, it is impacting more players than what you would think ( because of huge player base in Android ) and with the lack of communication, few members have quit the game. This trend will continue until GL communicates or until GL finds out on lowering playerbase. All in all, I hope they come up with solid plan and a deadline...but "hope" doesnt go well, when it comes to this game.

petition to strike gameloft by not spending on absolut ds. They scammed so many people with the devel nerf and nerfed venom by -3 nitro for no reason just so the whales would spend on absolut. The people who had both devel and venom maxed and still spend on absolut knowing the context are actual stupid. devel nerf was needed but not to the point of scamming players who paid thousands

Bro I love this update. I was patiently waiting for Unite and I wasn’t disappointed. The Xbox version is amazing but imma say it freezes and crashes at times which is annoying. But I love everything else.

Asphalt is a mess. The game is poorly optimized, and it's become unplayable with too much information, constant flashes, and noise everywhere. The graphics are terrible for 90% of players; not everyone has a high-end PC to enjoy the graphics. Mobile players are particularly unhappy, finding the graphics subpar even with settings maxed out. The game isn't optimized at all. Plus, there's way too much purple everywhere, and the UI is unattractive. Honestly, it's better to stick with Asphalt 9. The garage looks like it was copied from Asphalt 8, and the multiplayer mode is a disaster. Even top players haven't reached the maximum league, only making it to the silver league. Multiplayer is just too difficult. Sorry to say it, but it's a failure.

Another thing is to reduce the abilities of the Devel Sixteen cars too much. Players who already bought the pack and upgraded were satisfied at that point and bought them. So is it appropriate to reduce the value to a low level like this?

First things first: they must fix the massive drop on fps and graphics, and they must start doing it now because the android community make more than 50% of the players of the entire game ,then they must optimize the graphic option like what we want to see and I think it's time to gameloft to make their engine like A9 CN exp choose the things that I want to see on game .and the blurry is a hal, another story ..and the fonts for console player they have big screens, but for mobile players, the fonts can hide an entire car or a barrel role man ...we living a nightmare 😢

And, to be honest, as a game developer, I confirm that all what you said is really true and logical.

When A9L has released at Steam game has used DX11. But I found out that game also could run in DX12, Vulkan and openGL. So it was obvious for me that they will eventually migrate to DX12 on Windows and Vulkan on Android. ALU graphics look worse IMO, volume can be adjusted by 5% only now, 120FPS is gone, UI is not so convinient. I'm kinda disappointed.

I don’t really understand all the problems. It all runs just fine as it used to. Gameplay, graphics, all is fine. On Switch that is - cause we didn’t even get Unite (due to certain reasons and bad project management) and are still stuck with A9😄. As you mentioned, the business folks seem not have to talked to the engineers…

The World Series mp need to be fixed because don’t have sense, but the other mp just need to be a little different, it’s better than in the past when everyone used the same car in each league, at least this give some utility for most of the cars in game

Well, as sad as it will have to be, I guess I'm gonna have to drop Asphalt Legends Unite till further notice. Seeing as my 3 year old phone can't run it anymore, I'll have to get a new and better phone to run it on (and that's just not feasible rn). Goodbye, Asphalt Legends Unite. Call me rude but on iPhone 11 the game runs so smooth right after it was released. I was shocked. And later seeing android peeps can’t even run the game with the latest android phones with 8 gb ram on it💀😹

In terms of graphics i run it on my phones which haves 6gb of ram on maximum settings and don't even have overheating issues, optimization is not the issue, the game also haves a site which tells you what specs you need, if your phones don't fulfil the requirements, then your phone isn't good enough, tho on a big point that the asphalt legend unite runs on phones with a lower resolution than xbox or pc devices do, the vulkan API is yes more unstable which is for lower spec devices a large challenge, i saw in few comments that people talked about the scammy store, asphalt uses the infamous gacha system which yes sometimes make people feel scammed As f2p i have no large issues with because you already get few decent cars at the start and grind the other cars later

The black screen bug can be overcome by exiting the app and re-entering it in a few seconds (i do it after Gameloft logo disappears) and higher graphics settings are more stable due to more consistent load. My phone has a Snapdragon 695 chip which is capable of running the game smoothly as long as thermal throttling doesn't kick in, which makes this game one of those where room temperature makes a huge difference. What i expected from Gameloft when they said better graphics is a wider selection of graphics like on pc so people with higher end phones could have a better experience and lower settings to make the game runnable for players with lower end phones, but instead they made performance and default completely useless because if the phone can run these without lag it delivers better performance on quality setting.

Asphalt legends unite should have done the following: 1. Make multiplayer balanced, so then instead of class, we go with rank. (Bronze - 1500 or less for example) 2. Make unlocking cars less tedious by buying the car like in 8 and ditch the blueprints and make them unlockable by playing the career. 3. Make multiplayer less laggy 4. Cross-play, where you can save your progress and play in different consoles or devices 5. Loads of more Customization options and make them buyable like cars and upgrades 6. Design Creator, so then you would have an exclusive skin or download from others 7. Ditch the retchid gambles for car blueprints so then it would not be as tedious as in the actual game

If we wanted fancy graphics we would be playing Assetto Corsa or smth, I play Asphalt for the playability and the accessibility to the community is a huge part of that. Multiplayer is destroyed and nerfing the Devel has damaged the communities' trust. Wake up shameloft

For whoever got a black screen, I got weirded out cus i have a high end phone and wondered why it wasnt launching, had to restart the game TWICE for it to work

They could have just released the unite update next month or later. No need to release a buggy version that is not yet fully optimised and make people quit. This decision by the upper management is completely dumb and if they think it will make them quick money they are idiots.

Gameloft made a HUGE mistake, logistically. Imagine how many players will simply DROP the game because they can't play it properly anymore? Moreover, this is NOT A NEW GAME, it's just an update to Asphalt 9!!! How are people just forced to update to a new version, and all of a sudden the game performs like 💩?

The easiest way to solve the optimization issue across all platforms no matter the device is, instead of rushing to get pre & post release funds, they should just optimize the game from the lowest possible device specifications the game can run on and go up from there, would save them a lot of time and effort and would result in less bug fixing, less asset changes, and less patching. If they really cared about money that much taking this route guarantees the best financial outcome, but even if you tell this to execs they just scoff and disregard your input as if to say "you have no idea what you're talking about", bunch of quick cash grab dimwits they are. They don't contemplate long term 😑

Why is there so much purple?

Yeah, this update has been a disappointment so far. Even mid-range devices can't run this game properly so the only devices left to buy are high-end devices. And not many people have the money for those. Also, yes the executives are certainly to blame here and not the devs themselves. But I doubt the executives are actually gonna let up on the devs and I don't think things won't get much better. Even if they did fix the current device issues in regards to graphics and performance, it won't erase all the other horrible changes GL made.

Meanwhile on Switch...

My main issue rn is that for some reason I can't overclock cars nor can I claim rewards from the special events.

Before the update I was able to play on Ultra on my Moto G54, now I can still play on Ultra, but after a few seconds the game crashes, on the computer they no longer support DirectX 11 now we only have DirectX 12, but look how funny, the minimum requirement is Intel HD graphics 4000, and it has DirectX 11.1, so how can it be a minimum requirement if it needs DirectX 12? Funny isn't it?

Asphalt 9 used to run at 60fps at high graphics in dimensity 7050 Now it barely runs at 40fps(with serious fps drops to about 20-30) Even after changing fps to 60, no change Graphics are even worser , they removed blur effect while starting of the race , even motion blur got removed The game lags a lot I was so excited for this one, but it seems to be a dissapointment , hope they will optimise the game Or else it will end up like warzone mobile! Asphalt 9 was a beautifully optimised game bit asphalt legends unite is just☠️...... Edit: When I first updated the game , graphics were good and motion blur was also there but it was running at 20fps , like seriously?!?!!! Then I reinstalled the game and graphics went even worser however fps (AS I MENTIONED ABOVE ITS AROUND 30-40) got a improvement but not as it used to be in ASPHALT 9 , And now the game often crashes in multiplayer in the middle of matchmaking its a serious bug i think , it needs to be resolved And OPTIMISATION NEEDS SOME SERIOUS WORK!!!!!!!

The changes to MP make it all worthwhile

I play Unite on an S24 and haven't had any issues whatsoever. It actually runs better on my Android over my Xbox which constantly freezes frames for whatever reason.

I have the Samsung s24 ultra...fingers crossed, i havent had any issues, but i will check to see what i have the settings on

As an iPhone user, the controls feels a lot heavier than before and some cars are now more harder to drive than asphalt 9

I really think Gameloft will try to get the game running as smooth as possible based on what Android device players have. There have also been some iPhones overheating due to the massive upgrade and now I think I might need to order a kit so I can clean out and apply a fresh coat of thermal paste on my Oled Switch for a more stable performance level. But like I said, the game does bring a lot than A9. I just want the date for Switch to jump on cross-play, since there’s nothing going on there, so I don’t understand why everyone is praising Switch not having the update. I can’t even finish up my All American MP season and there’s only 11 days of July left. Literally the 2nd MP season will be the best area for me because I like going back on these career cars and competing with cars at the same rank and performance level.

I just love new mp system. Because I can drive any car I want without facing problem like Cente vs Bolide and many spaming cars

I ain't gonna lie, old A9 was better, they could've just added Team Pursuit mode since that is the literal only really enjoyable part of the update, the "improved" graphics are IMO barely noticable but cause massive lag (and on my phone) literally 2 times longer loading screens, the rest is just more grinding and I play the game for fun, not playing the same event for 50 times in a row. The new UI is extremely flashy and in your face, plus there's a ton of simply wrong placed text, like on blueprints for cars with long names. Also, this one's really specific, but the loading "circle" for some reason mildly infuriates me every time I see it, it just looks... wrong.

6:10 for me the rank based matchmaking works well. I use 1976 etense and get paired with other people 200 above or below me.

Im playing on pc and for me somehow unite runs better than legends lol (faster loading times, and Better looking game overall)

Because of this new multiplayer system, cars like Trion and Onyx are just way too godly for their rank classes.

At least they could have remake the garage packs. Yes for starters it is the best packs to get new cars but for most of the player base who have been playing longer the most you’ll get are fricking trade coins (if they have already max stated those cars). I think if they automatically remove blueprints for star maxed cars, it will help us so much more with staring up the car we wanted. It also makes the game more enjoyable. Those card packs are rotting away imo.

Meanwhile Fordo running ALU with Intel pentium... I want that old mp2 system back in which we used to get free gold season cars to play and enjoy!

I can't really relate to all the complains about the Update. I think it's and awesome expansion and makes it feel fresh and more modern. The expansion just got released from a now days small studio, which makes it obviously unpolished. I really like it and had a good experience so far, and I like the Multiplier System (exempt for the too good enemies cars) and only had little mistakes such as text being oversized or minor graphical bugs. I'm exited for the next one :D

I wanted a D16 nerf, but the nerf was too much. The ppl who hv it spent so much money on it and now it's not the king anymore. It still loses speed on ramps and the drifting radius isn't even as good as the Jesko now. They ruined it instead of nerfed it.

I cant play on android or windows because i get 20 second lags. but i linked my account to steam and that plays fantastic and the graphics are awesome, but i have no sound lol
