Great review, I have a few HB's as well and some had minor issues. When I bought the Harley Benton RB-612BK Classic Series the frets were very sharp and inside the F holes it showed a lot of glue residue. I agree it takes an amount of work to play these 12 strings, as the tuning on these and the intonation could be better on them. I kept mine and am doing the work needed gradually, I do find this is my least guitar played though due to the setup stuff. It looks great from afar, if you are not bothered by small imperfections and are handy then this is not an issue but if you want one that is ready to play and no issues, there may be better alternatives elsewhere than HB.
Thanks for the tip on birds-eyes - I didn't know that one. Its certainly very orignal and fun, but it feels a lot of money for something that needs work. And there are so many other nice toys I could spend it on :-)
@@ERIC-65 good question. I returned it after changing my mind about 5 times. Its a fun thing but for me it just needed a bit too much work. And I can get a 12 string sound on other things I’ve got. And I can use the money for other instruments :-)
I've only seen video of the Eastwood, it looks 'very' similar indeed. But if the intonation is better, maybe its worth it. Check out the Duesenberg one - that's crazy money (for me) but looks very nice indeed.
From my experience, Basswood and wood screws don't fare very well together. I always end up having to use the old matchstick and glue plug trick and one time that didn't even work out.
Not got round to that. One channel here is fun and I kind of understand it. I’d rather spend more time making content here than getting on other social media things.
