I wonder why people need to talk about others with their bosses. It be some sorry losers trying to get you fired. I think its pathetic for anyone to go back and gossip about others.

Dude you have the realist videos online relating to developing. Literally you sugarcoat nothing, thanks for being so honest and open about your experiences and what we can all possibly expect in this profession.

Love this Chris! Thanks for being open and transparent, but also vulnerable. I feel like I've been going through the same highs and lows in my own career, which it's nice to hear that I'm not alone. Love this group coder therapy ahah!

Hi Chirs! I have been following you for a while now. I like you points of view, but why do you guys have to work for companies? I never have worked for a company in my life, always 100% self-employed. Why don't u do freelancing? Btw, i am thinking of going to IT and programming cos there I have I can learn for ever, but i am more concerned about health issues related to that job. How has programming job effected your health?

Good ole days are over. this is why I didn't get in back then. jobs were not stable. the only thing I learned in life you have to know how to pivot. Make business out of nothing to survive.

I tried to learn coding, but I found out after about 6 months this is not the right job for me. I love to communicate with ppl, need my creativity and my passion to create something new. I have big respect for all good coders out there, just for me I think it’s not matching. I envy ppl who enjoy coding 😢

now retired and came to the same conclusion-the coworkers were never ever real friends-been burned so many times-so much politics-and yes if you make more then "them" they will try to knock you off that position -smh

its looking like it wasn't a good as it's cracked up to me. Other developers at the company don't like to help or train because they want to protect their job. So be prepared be treated like crap. people think its going to be beer and ping pong tables when you get hired lol

Hi, please could you recommend the best platform I can learn complete mobile app development. Even if it's paid. I don't know if zero to mastery offer complete mobile app development just like they have the complete web development course. Thank you Chris ❤

I appreciate your honesty and courage to talk publicly about the issues and challenges in tech. It's difficult to keep track of this changing world and it's also an emotional issue for those who burned their wings. I live in France where the pay allows a good life if you never stop working

I’m worried I won’t make it as a self taught coder, and I would go to college for it but it’s just not possible for me. Hopefully the grind will pay off one day

Well said. I've been in the technology industry for almost thirty years. This is one of the most unstable industries a person can get in. I've been unemployed for numerous times in my career. I'm glad my adult children chose fields in the health industry. I'm in my fifties. Some of my friends have chosen early retirement. I've earned awards in companies that I've been laid off from to.

People learn the hard way. We now have 1000s of channels all pushing the idea of the how great Technology field is to get Advertising money. They will very rarely talk about all the downsides of this field.

@@BUDDHISM_Simple_Easy This field is very unstable. If I can get free state training for the health care industry, I am going to do it. I'm laid off now. I've been searching for over a month and a half.

@@captainkirk9700 exactly people are lying and hiding the truth how unstable IT field is and that that medical field/government jobs is the future. We will always need more medical people but Technology jobs will all become automated away with A.I. and outsourcing till all the outsourcing are fired when even more advances A.I. comes in the next 5-10 years maximum.

Yea I feel you on that work and personal life meshing doesn’t work, you can’t be friends with everyone and especially your boss too I’ve let myself get close to along people in the construction industry everyone’s out for themselves (most) and if it downs make them money or excel they don’t need you or care about you

Hey man! I’m from the Ph and have been working in sales and business development for about 6 years, and I’m looking into making a career shift to tech. I understand it’s going to be a lot of hardwork, but is it as good a choice as it was maybe 2 years back, or is it getting very competitive and risky now with AI gaining more traction?

#1 is hard when a) you work from home b) are a workaholic I always keep it professional, but I work where I live and I live where I work. If I worked in-office, the time I leave the office is the time I stop working.

Would you say front end engineer is still a great career to go for? I was told that they’re always the first to be laid off because it’s bottom of the barrel compared to back end and full stack I’m still studying but that was a bit discouraging🥴

Make good projects, join local groups, try to build websites for small local businesses, enroll at community college to try to get access to some internships. Just spit balling here but those are all valid propositions
