He let the anxiety take over. Dude is good hearted but can’t take criticism. I just simply don’t think he’s ready for the hate, shit neither am I mane. The media fuckin us all up. He shouldn’t have felt the way he did but at the same time those people shouldn’t have said what they said. There’s no winning here but I’m hoping he can bounce back twice as 💪🏽
Bro he was taking hate when he first started I seen a post on fb from like 2013 where he was talking abt ppl hating on his music this nigga been facin ts he gon be straight
People get mad when artist get upset when their stuff is called trash but art is a reflection of the artist. So rejecting someone’s art to an artist is like rejecting them. And then multiply that by 1000 since he’s famous. It’s not normal for someone to deal with stuff like that
STUPID COMMENT. HE AIN'T ABOUT TO FORCE ME TO SAY HIS ALBUM WHEN ITS TRASH ASF. HE NEEDS TO GET GOOD. IF ITS TRASH ITS TRASH.I AINT FINNA PRETEND LIKE ITS GOOD OR SOMETHING. FUCK THEY FEELINGS THEY SHOULD KNOW THAT PEOPLE GONNA SAY ITS BAD TF? HOW TF ANYONE GONNA BUMP HIS SHIT WHEN IT SOUNDS GENERIC. LET THAT SISSY GO CRY IN HIS CLOSET AND DEATIVATE HIS IG IDC. HE CAN'T COME OUT UNTIL HE PUT SOME GOOD MUSIC OUT.
It’s lowkey conflicting that after everyone praises Roddy for so long, the few times people finally _don’t_ have something good to say, he folds completely.
Waited on this. Whole situation is getting very sad. I don’t see Roddy Ricch retiring or quitting but I definitely see him creating a barrier between him and the fans emotionally.
That barrier should exist for all artists though right? At the end of the day I only like them because of their music first, personality second. Not exactly a structural sound foundation for emotions
@@Clinster246 A lot of artists assume that they are liked by the fans as people and artists. Hell as a content creator myself I assume that my subs care for me and like the content… assumptions aren’t always correct as you can see.
@@IAmLEE21 You're right, you would think a supporter cares about your well being (mentally, physically) and wants the best so they can then make the music that you also love but that unfortunately that aint the case...plus Roddy now is on the "joking" side of the internet..he post something now people will make jokes a lot of them probably aren't his real fans though.
@@lovebeefyoutube exactly. Like I said in my video about the situation… he’s become a meme to the kids the same way DaBaby and Polo G did. It’s a shame. Artists loaded with talent getting subjected to being the butt of jokes. You can block everyone online, but you can remove yourself from where they are.
I agree. I love Roddy, but his music is very on trend. The beats are very RU-vid beat like and the lyrical content is that street life we hear polo, Rod Wave, Rylo, and all those others do. I hear a lot of people argue that the box and the album it’s on only got big because of tiktok anyway so 🤷🏾♂️
The hate comes when they see an artist do better or grow. Tjay, Polo, Roddy, and others got this hate because they became mainstream and get all this love
This is definitely not the same situation tho, the fans were just expecting a way better project after all this wait. He should take this as motivation to make better music and be more consistent
This may be good for him, maybe he will push his content in a more progressive direction. Artist gotta understand that we dont truly care about the material things they all rap about. Give us more
That’s all they usually have is material shit in most cases They don’t know who they are they don’t have what they want us to believe they do Dame Dash talked about that before too
I think what he did was smart seperating himself from the hate can help him focus more on writing instead of opening up whatever social media he's on and seeing nothing but negativity.
The crazy part is Roddy has been posting some hot snippets before this one and nobody was saying anything. I believe he will make a come back with Feed Tha Streets 3
You gotta remember that the box did way too good to the point he even told ppl to go listen to Selena Gomez and JB… two of the biggest artists bruh.. and they still couldn’t take #1 spot. So he probably expected that to happen with this album and it just wasn’t it. He let that energy die. If you wanna come back after 2yrs you gotta be on some Kendrick Lamar type shxt. He got too comfortable basically. That’s what I think. The album had some solid tracks. He has to accept the loss and come back harder. Kendrick don’t be on his phone like ever so the criticism doesn’t dictate what he creates. Easy for someone on the internet with little buzz to say but it’s not the first time an artist has gone through this.
It’s definitely troll season on all social media platforms.. They get labeled as funny, get the most clicks, and the algorithm boosts them to the highest comment. Will it ever change? Smh. Keep your head up Roddy, that album was weak but you’re so talented man bounce back 🔥
Roddy and Polo both aren't necessarily my favorite style of music, but I just don't see how you can go out of your way to hate these guys. Both seem to stay out of the nonsense. Both clearly make good music, even if it's not your preferred style. I don't get the hate but that's 2022
@@marcusisunknown4105 never said he didn’t gang but seeing ppl hate Roddy n consistently clown him ain’t gonna make him wanna continue,, clearly Roddy ain’t turning pain into passion and hates only gonna make it worse but idk ydy 🤷🏾♂️
The reason you think it isn't that bad is because he's one of your favorite rappers. Ppl that like 69 sweared he was the goat too remember that. When someone is your favorite you tend you just like anything they do
I love how you say whats on the screen for those who are not looking. I myself like to listen to youtube videos whilst doing shit so i find it very useful. 🤝
you have to strike when the irons hot. you can’t ghost for 2 years after your biggest moment. 2 years breaks are taken after your third/forth album, when you’re an established artist. even kendrick, cole, and drake did not ghost after their first album.
True wish he woulda kept the momentum going... listening to the out of touch label thinking he needed a break was a bad idea... we should’ve gotten Feed the streets 1st before his second debut album... these labels are bad sometimes at managing an artist 🤦🏽♂️
@@MrEOM41 bruh at this point I believe he was going through to much through 2020 21 and come back to have hate like bruh i believe he need to get a lot of stuff off his mind fr
Nah J cole took 2 years after his first album and Kendrick took 3. Drake followed up his first album with take care after 1 year but then took 2 years for NWTS.
@@reggiesadventures4325 Drake was still dropping 🔥 collabs and giving us loosies like 5 pm in Toronto (to name a few) ... Roddy got too comfortable thinking he was already on that level and he isn’t.
@@reggiesadventures4325 J Cole and Kendrick Lamar are different types of artists with lyrical skills with a message in their music. Drake is lyrical as well but does a lot of features even way back then when he started.
Twitter been hating on roddy all day bruh bandwagon hate everywhere they overreacting way too much and the criticism is going overboard just say you didn’t fw the album and move on
the criticism is deserved. sure he's talented but that is even more of a reason to criticize him for this trash music hes been putting out recently. If we don't push him then he has no reason to change. that don't mean go after his family or death threats but definitely make him feel the backlash
wdym make him feel the backlash? I feel like as long as it's just an opinion (meaning u judge his album, not him) it's okay, but a lot of ppl been just crossing the line.
Its not like the snippet he posted was bad or trash though, just pretty "eh". Not to say I don't get fans being underwhelmed and wanting more from their favorite artists though.
It's not even trash though, just mid at best. It's just that PEMFBA was so damn good and his feature on Pure Souls with Kanye, we was expecting a lot and we was heavily let down. I feel like we as people ask for too much at times and we have our expectations insanely high, but that's just me though
I don’t think he really has to anymore. That’s not the type of artist Roddy is imo. He has a unique presence so you can’t just expect him to drop the number 1 song in the world every time. He got super lucky with the box. But he’s solid and can do it again just give him time.
The more time you take off, the more people expect when you come back. We know he’s crazy talented he just needs to find a way to express that in his music again. I feel like him deactivating his socials is going to benefit him a lot when he drops again
this is what happens when rap fans hype mid. the quick success and hype had this man believing he was really the hottest thing coming up, i guess thats whats got him all spun out. i liked his hit songs but he woulda never seen that level of success without mustards beats and co signature. theres nothing special about him, never was, just a catchy beat and catchy lyrics. roddys got talent and potential but he gotta cut out the antics and drop something worth coming back to 🤷♂️ onto the next
I disagree, there was def something refreshing and special (especially with the Box) but that song was too big for its own good and now he probably thinks that it is his "sound". He is still such a young artist that he should be trying to continue experimenting at trying to find his sound and pushing boundaries. IMO he is getting caught up trying to recreate the past rather than focusing on leaving a mark in the future, and it can be heard in his music.
@@ProdByCari I know I’m late to this but agree with this statement a lot. If anything he needs to follow a Future type of career and not just stick to one type of sound but evolve it over time which will make the audience appreciate its sound old sound overtime so it’s not overheard or repetitive
I think rappers need to understand when they drop music there’s a 50/50 chance that’ll either blow or have a bad reaction. If you don’t want a certain amount of criticism don’t drop anything. How come when artists get praise they love it but when they get a bad reaction they see it as “hate” or they say “I’d like to see you try” bro you make music to get an opinion they’re either going Tj be good or bad you need to accept both
That shit ain’t that deep, blacky. Roddy was never a social media guy, so why would he keep it if he only receives hate. I bet roddy just chose to work on better music on the low.
3:00 exactly this. Imagine how you’d feel if tens of thousands of people don’t like an album that you took two years to curate and release, and made videos on social media just attacking your work. Nothing wrong with criticism like that, it should be expected, but he’s just a person at the end of the day.
Bruh y’all don’t know how that can affect especially if he was through so much shii last year y’all don’t know what be going on wit em behind doors y’all to do to much y’all say yea he deserves criticism like that’s not cool at all
I think some artist are made for the long run Others are only here for a good time not a long time . Money sometimes blinds the audience and the artist perspective of success .
He waited too long to drop. Just like Bobby. The hype was so big neither could ever live up to it. I pray Kendrick doesn’t fall into the same trap but he might. People will eventually look back at all of them though years after their respective music has been dropped and be like “This is classic”
I disliked the album until I really listened to it! Jay-Z said it best "niggas want me sounding like my old shit, well go and buy my old shit" #LiveLifeFast y'all make everything drake put out blow tho.
The thing with Roddy was that leading up to LLF he was dropping hits after hits as features on songs, but when it was time to drop his own album it just got to repetitive
Roddy thought the ppl gravitated towards The Box because of his pure talent as opposed to the song just being catchy.. he fell into his own hype & it came back to bite em.. he got cocky & he deserves to be humbled
i'm NOT finna defend roddy, he need to learn to take criticism. the hate torwards roddy is NOT unwarranted that man literally dropped trash after 2 years and thought he was going to get away with it. and that twitter snippet was absolutely bad. he need to get his soft ass back on social media
Some people just don't react well to criticism when it comes to their craft. In fact many of them become disheartened from it and never come back from it which also reflects in their future work. Hope this guy can escape that or we may be losing a good artist.
I think it was more of something that an artist makes for themselves that they reflect on, not for the radio beats like everyone expected, still a homie respect earned considering growing up as "anti social" It's the next drop will be the determining factor so he should stay silent & blow everyone away
Can you make a song? Do you know what it takes to make a song for almost every one to love, do have an idea what these Artists went through just to make you all happy? If you are there fan support them in good times and hard times, this is the why Artist got into Depression
the thing is if you notice Roddy's behavior recently he was really feeling like he's the shit, like he's the actual GOAT. It was about time for him to get humbled. Not saying he should have been bullied from the platform but it is what it is
How can other people say, this is not him anymore...ofc some ppl have a certain type of style but 2 years later, people change in 2 years...like his taste. Fans want old stuff which they will never get anymore, its the past get over it..
i said it before and ill say it again; the box wasn't that good of a song, just in contrast with what was out at the time, it was top tier. the over evaluation and expectation is what is hindering the art form. everyone always got to compare which forces artists to just stay in their own box.
All the hate Roddy been getting lately is nonsense imo, i mean yeah, his last album was bad, but this doesnt mean he cant evolve w time. I think he just needs time to clear his mind and he ll come stronger and better. I belive in him
Live life fast roddy ricch’s version of eminem’s encore both of them had fire first album but they second one was disappointing but eminem recovered from encore hopefully roddy will do the same
I’m a huge RR fan since day one. Till today I listen to “Every Season” and “Down Below” at least 2 time EVERY DAY. Even though the album “Excuse me for being Anti Social” was his biggest success and had many great hits, I must confess that he started to lose me and some other fans with that album. For me “Feed tha Street I & II” are the best projects he ever released. (Even if they’re Mixtapes). Dj Ghost explained it well in one of his reaction video. The problem with most artists that come from the mud, is that as soon as that Big label money comes in they ain’t hungry no more, they fell off and lose their fan base. The same fans that got them to the point of even get noticed by the label. Look at RR old videos, filmed in the projects, in his hood with little to no budget. Yet the songs still hit hard. Look at a rapper like NBA young boy, the reason he’s one of the most streamed artist on YT without any promos is that he stays constant and coherent to his fanbase and produces the type of music they expect from him. So I think if RR want to come back to the scene, he def has one thing or two he can learn from YoungBoy. We want that good old hungry Roddy Ricch back. And I know he can make good music 💪❤️
The hate always been a thing for him even before he blew up…..right before he blew he almost quit because of it….. dude need to just focus … he’s mad talented
Honestly, I didn't think LLF was bad, I only thought he could do better, not that it was a bad album. I still bump 25 million on my playlist, that shit hits, just didn't compare to Antisocial. Even tho it flopped, Roddy still stays as one of the artist I'm excited to see when they drop music. He just gotta keep pushin this shit 🔥
This is a good experience for him to mature a bit, I think he has talent. He just needs to not let shit get to him which is easier said than done but still
Yeah I blame these RU-vid media outlets for bringing all that attention to him, and now every fan under the sun is critiquing his work not out of genuine care but because they saw blacky ackedemiks or yassine say it. People are just bullying him at this point. Most of the people giving him shit for his snippet didn't listen to it.
