Fun fact: The Suns and Bucks entered the league in 1968. A coin was flipped to see who would get the first overall pick. The Bucks won, and picked a center from UCLA who would later be known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I wonder how that guy turned out.
I don’t remember this Kareem guy but I remember tall dude named Lew who got in trouble for dunking a lot in college. But I heard he lived in LA, hope he doing well for his career.
idk if they are ESPN or not but Skip finna say that LeBron’s legacy is officially tarnished bc he lost to “the worst finals team in 20 years” and Shannon finna say that it doesn’t tarnish LeBron’s legacy at all bc he list to the team that’s in the NBA finals
Same here. I've loved that the conference finals were made up of teams who never won a title (Suns and Clippers), and teams who haven't won a title in a long time (Bucks and Hawks).
NBA Finals 2022 - Orlando vs. Sacremento NBA Finals 2023 - Orlando vs. LA Clippers NBA Finals 2024 - Miami vs. LA Lakers NBA Finals 2025 - Orlando vs. Denver NBA Finals 2026 - Brooklyn vs. LA Clippers NBA Finals 2027 - Orlando vs. Houston NBA Finals 2028 - Detroit vs. Golden State NBA Finals 2029 - Orlando vs. Phoenix NBA Finals 2030 - Orlando vs. Utah
i mean what can i say by the end of this series one team will either win their first championship ever or the other team will end 50 years of drought this is a great matchup
I like that UT didn't even pick a winner, he just felt happy about the teams that made it And yes, ESPN will find a way to make it about Lebron. They will always find a way until the day he retires.
Hell they do that to themselves when Rachel Nichols exposed herself with a private conversation about how she’s salty about Maria Taylor with Lebron’s spokesperson. Yes, Lebron’s spokesperson. At this point, they’re just asking to be fucked
@@gauravagochiya4218 just wait until Lebron announces his retirement season. If he doesn't make it to the Finals, ESPN is gonna treat them like an afterthought
@@FelixHawthorne Why couldn’t TNT have hosted the Finals instead? We could’ve gotten one last hurrah for Marv Alberts before he went into retirement. Still one of the best announcers of all time. My favorite call of his will forever be the finishing touches of T-Mac’s 13 points in 35 seconds with 1.7 to go.
@@gauravagochiya4218 I was very pissed when I learned that TNT wasn’t hosting it. It’s not just Marv, the show with Ernie, Shaq, Kenny, and Chuck is probably one of the few ones I actually enjoy
I'm legitimately pleased that the Finals are Phoenix vs. Milwaukee. It's a damn refreshing change of pace from what we've had (apart from the glorious 2019 Raptors blip) for what...the last 10 years?
Thank fucking god it wasn't Warriors vs Cavs. I wasn't born before the 90s, but I'm sure people were like thank fucking god it wasn't Celtics vs Lakers.
@@GamingBeFly Are you kidding? This finals might kill the NBA. No matter who wins, they will be the most illegitimate championship team probably of all time. Because it's unlikely the Suns get past the first round if the Lakers were healthy, and there's no way in HELL the Bucks get past the 2nd round if the Nets were healthy. What a joke this finals is.
The biggest losers of the playoffs weren't Philly, Utah, Lakers, Portland or Denver; were all the press of ESPN who wanted a Nets-Lakers final, they looked like clowns.
Finally an NBA Finals with two teams I actually care about and want to see either team win the Finals. Now watch ESPN ruin it by talking about Lebron and the Nets for the next 2 weeks.
Yeah, they'll start talking about the Lakers and Nets in the Finals for NEXT year which probably means another 11 months of Lakers & Nets hyperbole Smdh Lol.
Suns and Bucks: *Game seven comes down to a last second buzzer beater after all six games end with six point win margins* The Media: "Our first take, Lebron-"
I love that he’s a great player that doesn’t care about being a star, but I think that he literally creates problems with his team and teammates by not communicating enough.
@@joelmilten Kawhi has proven himself to be able to succeed without communicating. It’s everyone around him who creates problems. Bad medical staffs, Pat Bev being a loud mouth, Paul George and Marcus Morris’ inconsistencies, Doc being the overrated coach that he always has been, etc.
@@joelmilten Between his attitude and no-show last year, I think this it for him. His Uncle treats him like a paycheck and is an awful agent. He's lucky the NBA hasn't outright banned him for trying to leverage both LA teams against each other with blatantly illegal requests. Even Pop was like, 'Kawhi, I still like you and wish you well, but fuck your Uncle and I'm sending you to Canada because of it.' What he did to the Spurs was just outright dirty. They made the guy, they had the best shooting coach in the world, the only guy who saw Kawhi as a player who didn't know HOW to shoot, rather than one who COULDN'T shoot. Injuries fucking happen, and the Spurs are the only team that ALWAYS put long-term health over short-term success, resting starters on B2B's before it was even a thing. Now the Clips have to eat crow for picking up this toxic asset. We know what Uncle Dennis wants, a supermax. We know what the Clips want, another year before doing that. Now him and his POS Uncle have to decide if to walk and take another max from a team stupid enough to chase him, or stay another year. Personally, I'd pull the rug from under him, convince him to stay and not opt out, then ship him off the moment after.
There's an interesting little sub-note to the conference finals this year. Everyone knows the Los Angeles Clippers started out as the Buffalo Braves in 1970. They played there for eight years before getting shoved out by the Sabres and becoming the San Diego Clippers, then the Los Angeles Clippers. But did you know the Atlanta Hawks ALSO started in Buffalo? They were created as the Buffalo Bisons of the National Basketball League in 1945 and had to move after 13 games. They bounced around before reaching Atlanta. My point here is this: It was inevitable that the Clippers and Hawks would lose. Both of the NBA teams that started in Buffalo reached their respective conference finals and both of them lost. The Buffalo Sports Curse shows no mercy.
Jesus Christ, Even if you move to a different city, the Buffalo Sports Curse still follows. Imagine if Winnipeg had that sort of curse. Oh wait, the Arizona Coyotes.
Right? people in media act like If it ain't NY, GS, or LA nobody cares when in reality people are so sick of always hearing about or watching these big market teams that are talked about 24/7.
@@skyblaze1134 I’m pretty sure the viewership declined when these injuries keep happening. It would have been more adored if these teams beat everybody healthy, but because basically everyone is hurt but ironically Chris Paul, no it’s not that exciting.
@@MrSlashblade for a fan of actual basketball it is, not just bandwagoners that only watch when big names are playing.. cause I'm loving the action on the court young dudes playing hard to make their own name...not LeBron flopping and being a cry baby asking for a foul over and over. Small market teams shouldn't deserve hate they're on the come up why does everyone always want to watch the same crap?
@@skyblaze1134 literally there was more players who elevated their name from last year (Butler, Murray, Mitchell, Jokic, TJ Warren, Powell, Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, Luguentz Dort, Luka Doncic) vs this year (Ayton, Seth Curry, Trae Young, i guess Middleton, Booker, and Paul George) it’s less new stars and more next man up, and again there’s been so much injury that as a real basketball fan the only reason you would like this finals, is just the concept of new teams in the finals, which that novelty runs out when star players from every side get injured. If Giannis just gets a 2019 KD then I don’t care how much you love the “new stars” it’s just going to be virtually every top player that Phoenix played was either injured or playing hurt. It’s not even like GS where the best player on the team was still there it was just key piece or two that’s missing. Also this seems less like small market teams and more you not liking Lebron, because something tells me you still disliked him even when he played for small market Cleveland and that’s more small market then the capital of Arizona. Also we’d have this same issue if the finals were Clippers vs Hawks which neither is small market.
This is the one Finals where I don’t mind either team winning even tho I’m picking the Suns Edit: Well Milwaukee won. Congrats to Giannis for earning that championship
Yes, I am a Bucks fan, so I am biased, but really, games 4-6 of the Finals were REALLY fun to watch. You had some amazing moments and performances, even if they all went the Bucks' way. You still had viewers on the edge of their seats.
@@UHOH_415 The only 3 people at ESPN that are excited for this matchup are Kendrick Perkins Dave McMenamin and Malika Andrews. LET THAT SINK IN! Everyone else is in a sting of shock! #Bucksin6
Can we just appreciate on thing...No LeBron, No Lakers and no Warriors once and for all ! Something different that can breath life to that league !! Thank god !
Wow this NBA playoffs was a great recruiting class for the cba, the Shanghai sharks got Julius Randle, Ben Simmons, Porzingis, Rudy Gobert, Kyle Kuzma, Joe Harris, and of course Dennis Schroder as 6th man
"It's standard Denver, when you get some hope there will be about twelve wrenches thrown in the engine" That's what we Nuggets fans refer to as Nugglyfe. Anything bad that happens is to be expected; it's simply a part of life.
At least that’s predictable. However, the Clippers are that team where as soon as you write them off they do something great to give you hope. Then as soon as they give you hope, they do something to make you give up on them and it’s a constant back and forth cycle.
I'm rooting for the Suns for two reasons: 1. Chris Paul getting a ring would be great. 2. Monty Williams. He was an assistant coach in Portland for a while. Liked him here, and I want to see him successful.
He has a chance to ring chase on super teams once his contract expires by taking vet minimums. I mean, GP has a ring. This does feel like his last chance for HIM to win a ring though, to do for his legacy what Stockton and Nash never could.
crazy how in 2 years kawhi has not played in the west finals..and lebron has played in 1 in 3 years...its not so easy in la is it boys...pressure daily...
I've been a suns fan since I was a kid but since they've always sucked until now I was never into the NBA since it was always predictable and my team wasn't gonna win anyway. I hope we win now
so youre 10 years old? suns have been one of the best nba franchises ever without a championship. ryan mcdonough made a mockery of this franchise with his tenure putting a losing stain on a team with a proud history of winning, always competing but luck never on their side.
lmao how old are you, the suns were great in the 90's and 2000's they had legitimate title runs. This is proof you haven't been a fan of them since this year.
What I also like here is that the Suns & Bucks were brothers in expansion. I never give a damn what city a sports team plays in, if they're good, good! I think, due to more availability of communication and knowledge in today's world, that talking about how a team isn't worthy to praise, win, or watch because the city they play in isn't nationally known or a magnet for tourists is long past its expiration date. For me, it's nice to see the Suns back in The Finals, and great to see the Bucks make it back (the Bucks were one of the NBA's strongest for a long time and still hold a good franchise winning percentage, even with being in the wilderness for so long).
the fact that injuries riddled this postseason shows how more physical the game has gotten, or rather, still is despite an era of small ball and soft reffing.
players just have to cover so much ground on D these days. Also big guys are Embiid and Giannis regularly start their drives to the hoop from the freaking 3pt line, you can literally hear their ACLs screaming NOOOOOOO before they land.
Yes. Yes, he was. The Celtics didn't have Kyrie last year, either, and made it farther. It was actually a decent accomplishment for the Celtics to go a game over .500 in the regular season, seeing how they did not have one single healthy game all year. For every game this season -- both regular season and playoffs -- they had at least one guy either in COVID protocol or injured badly enough to not leave the bench.
They had one more title left in them, and at least one more playoff series win beyond that. Side note: Imagine what Golden State could be right now if they won the lottery and had gotten ANT instead of Wiseman.
Great ones, at that! Usually from the sports video games that people would probably forget about otherwise. Speaking of which, more people need to get some great quality rips from said video games from the Nintendo 64/Playstation era.
The playoffs were really fucking great this year. You’ve been missing out of you haven’t been watching. Even the sad sixers fan in me was still entertained
As a Hawks fan, I did not expect any of this to happen. 14-20 to being in the second ECF ever. Of course we lost our first one to that fucking LeGM guy
As much as I want Giannis and the Bucks to win the championship, my heart leans towards the Suns to win the series and this is CP3 last shot to win a ring before he retires soon.
As someone who doesn't follow the NBA extremely closely this and the Raptors run in 2019 have been so refreshing after having to watch Cavs vs. Warriors for 4 years straight
12 years ago you couldn’t find a bucks fan in Milwaukee it was literally “where’s Waldo: NBA edition.” Most people in the city were Bulls fans and Chicago used to take over the Bradley Center every time they came up here to play. Everything changed once Milwaukee drafted Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2013 and kohl sold the team to those investors who pledged to keep the team in Milwaukee
Funny how Lakers fans are gonna make excuses on why they lost but conveniently forget last year that the heats second best player in bam and there leading scorer in dragic were out for pretty much the entire series and were never 100%. They won’t talk about that though🤔
I have been waiting for over twenty years for my Phoenix Suns to get back to the NBA finals. Back when Sir Charles was traded to the Valley and had a career year only to be halted by Jordan and the Bulls for the third straight year. Now we get to see Chris Paul do what Barkley couldn’t do. I was hoping for a Hawks/Suns finals series, but I think that the Hawks will be back after how close they almost got. I think Atlanta will come in with that massive chip on their shoulders and come in with a hunger, so I will not count them out. But to have two teams in the finals that have not been there in in like twenty and forty years respectively. This Suns/Bucks series is gonna be awesome but in the end my Suns got this one. They are top to bottom good, but then again the same could had been said for Barkley and company and we all saw what Jordan and the bulls did to them to clinch their third straight NBA title. Love this match up. Finally some fresh faces in the finals.
Out of all of the ESPN reporters the one that is the most satisfied of the Bucks trip to the Finals was the reporter that Giannis walked out on 2 years ago after they lost to Toronto in the ECF.
@@johnchristanis5719 Her and Kendrick Perkins are the only 2 from the mothership that are excited about this matchup. Everyone else from ESPN thinks it sucks
Again at the end; "A combination of CP3, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton or Giannis, Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez will walk out of this with a ring". What did Jrue do to him
The fact is, the Bucks were in this same situation 2 years ago. We were up 2-0 on Toronto, thought we were well on our way to the Finals, but Toronto had the focus and drive, led by Kawai, and they showed it to the young Bucks the next 4 games. Giannis, Middleton, Lopez, they all saw then what it was going to take for them, and they had that same kind of focus and drive in the Finals against the Suns. No disrespect to the Suns, but they were too inexperienced in going this deep into the playoffs and it showed. The Bucks were more focused and determined. They wanted it more, and the Suns weren't ready for their responses and Giannis going all-out.
Starting with the coin flip of 1969 all the way into either 2010 or the failed Bubble surprise of 2020, depending on where the cutoff point should be there.
Love it or hate it, the grizzlies are going places over the next couple years. memphis has massively overachieved during the rebuild process and they’re only going to get better and better as the young core develops. Its not everyday you see the second youngest team in the league cracking the playoffs. Management is making all the right decisions and it’s paying off so far (well maybe except for justice winslow). It’s an exciting time to be a memphian
I was born in Flushing, Queens, and I have been living in Long Island since I was 2 years old. I am a fan of the New York Knicks and the New York Mets. The Knicks exceeded expectations, but there is no need for a parade for winning one playoff game. It was cool to see people simply having fun at Madison Square Garden. It felt like New York City was back, given what happened during the pandemic. Julius Randle is not a starter. At best, Julius Randle is a role player. There has been a lot of improvement though. The New York Knicks need an upgrade at starting point guard. Derrick Rose is definitely a good backup point guard, but the Knicks need a good starting point guard.
12:36 “The combination of CP3, Devin Booker, and DeAndre Ayton, or Giannis, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez will walk out of this with a ring!” Hold up, did you just put Lopez as their 3rd best player over Jrue???
More speaking in terms of veteran influence. Jrue Holiday as well. Just needed three or else it gets a bit lengthy and I'd have to add Jae Crowder for the Suns.
Here's a thing people overlook: Phoenix is a large-sized metro, the surrounding population puts them FIFTH behind NYC, LA, Chicago, and Houston. It's just Phoenix is not a "traditional" sports city or a city with "glamour/wealth" where the talking heads would feel more comfortable.
As a Mavs fan our one hope (besides Luka just being a historic player) is that while our new GM might bust he also might have the best and most intricate relationships with players throughout the league. The Mavs have NEVER been able to get free agents, this guy might be able to do that. Or he might crash and burn. Either way screw Cuban
