If the Sacramento kings make the playoffs, the jets will have the longest current playoff drought in the 4 major sports Update: They fucking did it. We now can laugh at the jets.
As a Vikings fan, I have absolutely no way to explain this season and absolutely no idea what it presages for the future. It was insane and unique. Will KOC and Kwesi succeed long-term? I think so, but I have no concrete answer. However, I do know this: It was _never, ever boring._ In that regard, it may have been the most successful regular season in all of football.
I just hope with all the good praise the Lions are getting, it doesn’t turn out to a bad omen. They just need to continue on building up their defense and sustain their chemistry. Baby steps is all we need at this point .
The Packers are on a downturn, the Bears deep in a rebuild, and the Vikings overachieved Detroit has a better chance to the win the North in 2023 than you might realize

I was expecting Dolphins slander until i realized these are non play off teams. Wow, The perks of being a playoff team. I hope our membership lasts past this season .
Poor Derek Carr, man. His 2016 season where he had the Raiders at 12-3, were thought of as a potential SB contender, and Carr himself had a excellent season, with a TD-INT difference of 4.7-1. Then he tore his ACL and the team hasn't been the same. I hope where ever he goes, he gets a shot at glory
@@deadlimerence He's got one of the great young receivers in Chris Olave to throw to, and considering the state of the NFC South, I think the Saints have a pretty decent chance of taking it
As a Ravens fan, I'm kinda glad we made the playoffs. I had no expectations of us beating the Bengals yet I was disappointed. That goal line fumble was a real dagger.
As a lions fan I’m still not used to happiness. Not sure what to do with myself now. Finally threw my bag away. It was getting kinda soggy and salty. Can’t wait for next year
Honestly, as a falcons fan, I was pleased with how the season went. Yes there were games that we blew, but the majority of us were expecting the team to be completely non competitive this season. Instead we actually have something to build on. Our offensive line is blossoming into a top unit anchored by Chris Lindstrom. We have a future premier back in Tyler Allgiers with solid depth in Caleb Huntley. Drake London and Kyle Pitts make for a foundation to a good wr room and while the defense is devoid of talent, AJ Terrell and Grady Jarrett are still excellent, there is promising youth in Anderson, Ebekite and Malone, a new defensive coordinator in Ryan Nielsen and we have $80 million in cap space right now with additional space that will be made available after some restructuring. Which means we can get the much needed talent and depth on defense to make the unit a formidable unit. The big questions are, what moves do we make in the draft and what are we doing at QB. Do we roll with Ridder, do we go for another stop gap, do we push after someone like Lamar or do we have someone like CJ Stroud fall into our laps. It will be interesting few years ahead for us.
This whole comment is facts. Smith really gave the falcons an identity on offense. Top 3 in rushing is a very new and fun thing for the falcons. I’ve said that they’re the team with the highest pick that shouldn’t feel embarrassed for being there
"The abyss is much darker than you remember it to be" Oh no, Tree. Saints fans like my dad (61 years old) remembers the inglory days of the Aints being Lions bad year after grueling year
Being a Chiefs fan since I was born I'm happy and proud of my team as of late. We've been to 5 straight AFC championships and now our 3rd super bowl appearance in the last 5 years I can understand how other team fanbases will hate the chiefs. Just understand I'm 38 and I've been waiting my entire life to see my chiefs be dominate in football. I've suffered through alot of rough years with horrible luck teams in the past so I tell you if your team is playing bad now never give up because you never know one day you may finally get a great team like the chiefs now.
@@jasonctekien6288 Yeah, I’m also a Bears fan. They’re my favorite sports team I follow so their ineptitude stings more than the likes of the Bulls, Sox, and Hawks. I hope we finally become relevant again. It’s about damn time
@@SVdreamin Same, the only recent success Chicago has had is the Cubs and Hawks (and they're also collapsed at this point). It'll be a long road back for every team I'm afraid
I can’t believe how much leverage the bears have, tons of cap and that number one pick, where they have all the leverage over QB hungry teams and if they don’t find one they like they still get to pick first, it’s an absolute win win.
What a season. Always love seeing these debriefings and comparing them to the outlooks at the beginning. Definitely will remember this 2022 for all the insanity which entailed, on and off the field. Glad to see Damar healed from the injury but I hope the NFL actually make an effort to address the concussions. Which they won't, most likely.
I’ve been following you since 2017 I remember you were still in the tens of thousands of subscribers. The fact that you’re still not at 1M is a crime against humanity. Almost there, though.
It's going to be very interesting seeing what the Lions, Bears, and my Vikings do in the off season. Green Bay on the other hand... well, it will be interesting for different reasons.
If the Ford's don't fuck things up, the Lions look like Detroit's best shot at a winning team again for the first time in ages. PS - Last relevant Lions team I would say is 1993-94 (aka the original 18 week season/final season of NFC road games on CBS) with head coach Wayne Fontes, QB Erik Kramer and of course, the legendary RB Barry Sanders.
The Kamara trade was just a rumor and absolutely not almost. He was basically our only RB other than Ingram. Also wrong about not being able to afford Carr. But I hope to hell they don't sign him. Loomis can maneuver the cap like he always does. Restructure some contracts. Cut players et al. We were way over the cap last year but they almost landed Watson but he decided at last minute to go to Browns. Thank the gods we didn't go that route. Thanks for the videos Tree you're truly one of if not THE best.
"We laugh at Broncos country for the next half decade" That's why if Sean or Russ fail, I've stocked up on Jaguars gear for the future, just in case. 😬
honestly with the state of the team, my saints did pretty good we were a few field goals from the playoffs, and many of our losses could have been reversed with a couple more good offensive decisions it’s not the best situation, but considering a lot of the other worst teams in the nfl, we’re not in the worst shape. we’ll be back to decent shape in a couple years. and it’s especially funny considering how hard you’ve been on us considering the situation at caronlina, green bay, baltimore, denver, and atlanta.
It’s gotten to the point I can’t even be mad about 28-3 jokes anymore. The Falcons keep falconing and giving everyone fresh material Like my receding hairline there is no stopping it, and just like when I started shaving my head I’m gonna steer into the skid
I became a fan of the Titans during the 21-22 playoffs when I saw AJ Brown make a nutty catch. Thought "he's the man, I'm rolling with the Titans" lmao what a time to become a Titans fan
Trading AJ Brown was indeed just the final straw for Jon Robinson tenure with the Titans. He did it behind the back of Vrabel and Amy Adams Strunk. But he also had a terrible record in first rounds and brought lots of injury prone players. Remember Jadeveon Clowney and Vic Beasley? The guy went from "In JRob we trust" to fired in less than one season. That was a spetacular fall. Can't say the Titans are looking for "Yes Man" to Vrabel though. They were aiming to bring Matt Nagy or Eric Bienemy to the OC position, but that didn't work. But it is indeed a limbo where the Titans lie now. We all know the celing of Tannehill and doubts loom Malik Willis. We don't know how much Henry has left in the tank. Weird times.
Tomlin hasn't made a pact with devil, he just manages to keep enough of players engaged and 'believing ' such that he has never had a losing season. Thus, he is the GOAT of motivational coaches; although his tactical prowess is average and relies more on intuition. With 20/20 hindsight, the production he got out of AB before Brown lost all sense of his place in the Space-Time Continuum demonstrates how well Tomlin deals with player's egos.
They're gonna have to work extra hard next season. Who do you see _improving?_ Not just a little bit, but enough to have contended this year? The Chargers? The other two non-playoff AFC West teams? The Dolphins? Jets? Patriots? Ravens? (actually...) Steelers? No, thanks to Matt Patri - -uhh, Canada. Not the Browns. Cincy would be lucky to get this lucky a third year. The Jags? NFC: Eagles can only hope to maintain what made them win this season. Giants aren't gonna repeat this amount of luck, _NO_ way! Howell works out or they get Carr or Rodgers, the Commanders make the playoffs. Dallas? They're TOTALLY effed. NFC South: the only team that wouldn't go 1 & out in the playoffs if they got Rodgers would be the Saints from _this_ season, not next. BFC North: the Packers, maybe. (People are speaking of the Lions in a way that makes it feel as if they KNOW they're wishing). The Rams? Maybe win six games? Seattle? Smith's comeback was a good _story,_ but he got tired mid-way through the season & *stayed* tired. Arizona will be lucky to win three next season. So: maybe the Ravens now that Greg Roman is fired (but the people who *paid him $ to undermine the entire team's success* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HkNpZxq80N4.html are still there), the Patriots will put us all to sleep with their systematic boring play, & the Packers might do more with Love than anticipated. Yeah, & the 49ers. Four teams next season may be interesting _on_ the field. At best. You realize that if Aaron *Rodgers* had gone to Denver this past season instead of Russ they would have made the playoffs? NO _WAY_ Rodgers doesn't score 18+ points in eight of those first games they lost because the Broncos _didn't._ Ginormous missed opportunity.
As sucky as it felt when the Panthers' somewhat magical comeback ended at the hands of Tampa, I can't help but feel a bit excited about the future. Yes losing Wilks hurts, but Frank Reich is a good coach and unlike Matt Rhule, is an adult. He and Wilks both are adults and it's so good to have that back in Charlotte. That adult mindset. That "this is the NFL, not NCAA" mindset. I'm excited by Reich's hires too. We got a couple good guys from Denver now on defense. Just really waiting on the new OC. I'm also interested in seeing how the draft shakes out. Excited for the future as I believe this team is coming back from the edge
I have to agree with Tree on the Panthers. They are at a crossroads. They can either go up and become playoff contenders, or go down into the abyss again. The Panthers can either pull a 2018 Canes and get the correct coach and pieces to get over the hump, or a 2014 Canes and piss all opportunities and hopes away.
Cautious optimism, that's the life of a Lions fan. Are we finally turning the corner? Do we have a legitimate team? Are we finally going to shake the chains that have weighed down this franchise for 70 years? Wait 8 more months to find out!
As a Cleveland fan the Watson trade hurts so bad. The team was finally getting some goodwill around the league and then in the course of one offseason they trade Baker despite him playing his heart out and sign Watson in the midst of sexual assault scandals. I know many Cleveland natives that refuse to support the franchise now. The Browns were always a joke to the rest of the NFL but when you fuck up so bad you turn your own city against you? That takes true fuck up talent. p.s. most Clevelanders hated that shit those fans did with the "happy endings are not illegal" thing at the tailgate early in the season.
Let's see how well this super early 2023 NFL prediction ages: Russell Wilson will have a bounce back season thanks to Sean Payton. Nathaniel Hackett's inability to be a head coach was the primary reason Russ had a dismal 2022.
Let the Rams and the Buccaneers be a lesson in how *NOT* to build a team. Sure, both of them have won a ring in the 2020s, but the aftermath is going to crater these teams. If Brady is actually retiring this time around, there will be a new leader in the NFC South. Sure, the Bucs have some talented players, but they are about to face futility for the foreseeable future. Whether that be playoff futility or straight-up mediocrity remains to be seen, but the Bucs won’t be a Super Bowl contender for a while. And the Rams? That team, if their core doesn’t retire this offseason, has at most a few more years with them, and they likely won’t get another ring. And when their core retires, they’ll be in the shitter faster than you can say “Fuck Stan Kroenke”. Compare this to, say, the Chiefs, the Bills, or the Bengals. Both KC and Cincy came up just short of Lombardi, and the Bills haven’t quite made it to the Super Bowl yet, but they’re gonna be contenders for years to come, especially the Chiefs. And that’s because these teams are building their contenders, not stripping veteran players from other teams to become a one-ring-wonder. KC has a couple more Super Bowl appearances at least (and they have a ring), Cincy is in a good position to finally get their first ring, and the Bills have a good shot at making the Super Bowl, and possibly even winning their first Lombardi, as well. The Bucs are done, as are the Rams, most likely.
Nice to see the Pegula's and Mike Brown doing well for once in their miserable lives! Looks like flaky L.A. will only be supporting the Kings and Dodgers for the forseeable future now that the Lakers and Rams suck again. Flaky Tampa is lucky that the Bucs are safe from relocation, with them losing the XFL's Vipers to Las Vegas AND the USFL's Bandits to Memphis (renamed to Showboats thankfully unlike the Vipers) recently. Should have watched Bandit games last season. Instead, they get to watch the return of the "Culverhouse" era Bucs again!
Bears fans are significantly overrating the future of the team when there's no way of telling if this management can surround Fields with enough talent. And only 1 team wins the Super Bowl, 31 losers. We will see if Poles hits big or not going forward.
@@3andahalf684 they have huge holes at WR, LB, and OL. There’s no guarantee things work out like fans think. You can draft well and still fall well short (see Pittsburgh Steelers after Mike Wallace left in UFA)
The Cardinals are without a HC still and there are rumblings that it’s because of Kyler Murray being supposedly uncoachable. The franchise is forfeit right now. Next season for the Cards could make Days of our Steelers look like an average season in the NFL.
These players better get their act together and stop failing for millions, and the officials better get their act together and stop making these horrendous calls. The NFL's ratings should not be taken for granted. This sport was unwatchable on many Sundays this past season, and I and many others just turned it off lol
I fear the same result for my Steelers next season. Wash, Rinse, and Repeat! All I can do now is wait for Mike Tomlin's contract to "Conviently" expire!
To be fair, Saturday was just a lame duck interim coach that was solely there to undercover the entire truth for Jim Irsay. Saturday wasn’t going to hold back any punches.
I've been torrenting (and sharing on my channel) the most exciting games every week and 2022 was pretty below avg. Yeah there's always thrillers, but I usually stash 50-65 games ( 65 in 2016,2018) and it's like 40.
The 2021 season was so exciting and full of twists and turns the 2022 season in comparison just kind of felt like a let down. They were literally only five good teams this year.
I couldn’t agree more. Sure there were times that the games felt manufactured last season (this happens every year), but at least those games were fun to watch. This season was one of the worst-coached seasons in recent memory.
@@thekingbarrelmaker7642 also, the officiating was all over the place but I feel like the problem with the officiating. It can sometimes be argued there are some corruption involved, but also I feel like Roger Goodell has been giving mixed signals to the officials about what he wants and you end up with officials that have no idea what to do or how to officiate, where teams can get away with a bunch of penalties and you have somewhere if you walk the wrong way you get a flag, either Roger Goodell needs to make up his damn mind what he wants or he just needs to step aside
I wanna laugh at the Broncos, but we hired Nathaniel Hackett as our OC. I'm not saying he can't do a good job, but RIGHT AFTER that season in Denver? It's like we're asking to be laughed at
Have you seen Art Rooney's comments on why he's keeping Matt Canada? It honestly made me nauseous. It's official. The new standard in Pittsburgh is mediocrity. Mike Tomlin loves it so much.
11:27 Yup. Keywords Brady AND Belichick. Lets fire the guy who kept this team together and led you to the playoffs and get that sexy hire in Josh McDaniel's. I liked the Raiders before the year started, but said to myself that this dude was the question mark.
For the Rams, I'm still happy about the ring but this season sucked. Injuries left and right, a pathetic offensive line. I'm hoping for a better season but it's gonna be hard competing with the Niners having Brock Purdy and a strong defense along with the Seahawks and Cards. I will say the Goff-Stafford trade is win-win.
18:09 thank god this man is out of the nfl. They can’t treat him like a Princess every time he gets touched anymore. To be serious though, expected nothing from the falcons this year and they looked better than expected so I’ll take it.
Being a patriots fan is rough nowadays. This is probably worse than the can newton year. And don’t get me started on the cam newton year. We have a big offseason ahead of us. Now can we please PLEASE trade for deandre Hopkins!
Adams didn't go there just because of Carr yes that was one of his reasons for going but a big reason was to be closer to Family because he said it was harder for his family to travel to Green Bay than it was to Las Vegas and that he grew up a Raiders fan so you cant just say Carr was the only reason
bro idc. As long as its someone who knows how to run an offense, not leave mac as a lame duck, and mean no one has to put up w matt patricia anymore well take it for now
