The haunted St. Augustine Lighthouse

As the nation's oldest city, it only makes sense that St. Augustine would also have some of the country's oldest ghost stories. One of the most-haunted spots, is said to be the historic lighthouse. News4JAX reporter Aaron Farrar visited the nearly 150 year old landmark. He spoke with people who work every day, dealing with the paranormal.

I volunteer at the lighthouse. It is haunted, by several children of people who built the lighthouse, and a couple of keepers. The kids I’ve hand the most experiences with. They like to leave wet footprints on various floors. They’re troublemakers, not vindictive.

@@jeremycapps2678 when I used to sweep the tower, I can always remember seeing wet foot prints when I climbed the tower early in the morning, but I never thought anything about it. Then I heard how the girls died. The very next time I started to climb, and saw the footprints, I went wide-eyed. I think the reason why they aren’t “poltergeists”, is because they died at an age well before being vindictive. I have had several occasions, like this one, since. NEVER harmful, NEVER “scary”, they’re just kids, f’ing around like kids. I HAVE had situations where someone much older leaves prints, but that’s all they do.
