For what it's worth regarding Gobert vs. Clingan in terms of athleticism based on their combine performances: Clingan: Lane Agility: 12.06 s Shuttle: 3.38 s 3/4 sprint: 3.46 s Max vert: 29 in. Gobert: Lane Agility: 12.85 s Shuttle: 3.19 s 3/4 sprint: 3.57 s Max vert: 29 in. Note that Clingan weighed in at 282 lbs, so he's significantly heavier than Gobert. I don't know if teams would want him to cut weight to potentially be even more mobile, or if they want him to stay roughly where he is to better guard bigs like Jokic and Embiid in the post.

I tend to lean towards higher upside (Sarr) but am starting to come around to the Clingan idea (particularly if Trae & Quin are allegedly signing off on it). Clingan is ready to play day one and is arguably the better offensive and defensive player between he and Sarr. I also understand Fields not risking his job on a project big that may not be ready for a few years.

hawks have 2 very very good centers capela is great his PER is always very high ...if i was the hawks ill trade down with the spurs and draft cody williams at 4 and dalton knecht at 8 great value and keep my two good centers i got.. btw sarr is crazy he wants to play for the wizards instead of the hawks lmao makes no sense.

Clingan is a very Quin Snyder pick IMO. Reminds me of Jokic. He’s huge (already has an NBA body). Very savvy screen setter. Good passer. High IQ guy that is always in the right position it seems. Whatever he lacks in raw athleticism he makes up in smarts. He would be a great fit in Snyder’s system.

Why does the front office, Synder, and Trae think that we'll be good enough to justify skipping Sarr. Nothing Clingan has will make us that much better than if we just take Sarr. Also, Clingan will never play more than 25 min per game, so we'll have to keep Onyeka. Clingan will be unplayable if our perimeter defenders suck

Hawks never ever make trades and get value. Hawks are masters at destroying players values and then trading them as salary dumps. Hawks seem to be literally trying to become the worst franchise in sports. That Murray trade is going to build a dynasty in San Antonio. And after this year they will have made Trae's value in the league virtually nothing. This is a franchise that all they care about is making money. Have zero interest in winning. They need to move on from Trae. I think they can win with Murray. Work a deal with the Lakers and send Trae away. Yes he's a talented player but I don't see him ever winning a championship with his zero defense. Regardless of who they take the player will be coming to the Hawks so he will be talented but he will become part of a losing culture. They need a winner. Clingan might be it but does his game translate to the playoffs? I have no idea.
