A spiritual experience is one thing, the theological framework that we use to contextualize it is quite another. The core of all spiritual epistemology is a kind of 'cleansing', in Christianity from sin, in Buddhism and Hinduism from karma/impressions. This cleansing should make sure that we learn to discern real knowledge and insight from those forces within that can hinder the inquiry (karma, sin, desires, bias, etc.). By being free of those, we know that the knowledge and insight we gained isn't informed by our biases, wishful thinking, intellectualization, etc. Sometimes, experience and context happen at the same time, that is the gained insight IS part of the experience, not a posthoc rationalization. The insight/knowledge is usually non-verbal, non-visual, just a whole lot of information contained in one second, which takes a second to understand and sink in, but a long time to explain and put into words. That kind of knowledge transcends known epistemology, and it is by nature something that cannot be known unless by Grace, as a kind of revelation, a gift that cannot be grasped by the usual trajectory of human inquiry (bottom to top) but only by enlightenment, from above, as a gift of Grace (Grace exclusively descends, so the trajectory of that information is always top-to-bottom). I had this experience, and the insight was clear: Man is not God. Man cannot embody God. The human body cannot do this, it wasn't made to do this, this would absolutely, 100% kill it. There was one, and only one body that could embody God, and that is the body of Christ, the son of God. Our bodies cannot do this. The body of Christ is a metaphysical mystery, one of a kind, it is the only body that can contain within itself infinity, eternity. Every other body would be killed. We as humans, bound by flesh, come to infinity only through Christ, whom God made only so that this communion between man and God would be metaphysically possible so that we can commune with God in flesh, while the body of Christ, still a body, still in Heaven, can soak the impact of the clash between the physical, bound man and the uncreated, boundless, Father. God isn't a force, it's not 'all that is, it's not some form of energy, He is A PERSON. Think of it as - infinity as a PERSON. This is how He introduced himself to me, this is how I know Him. If you are really interested in psychonautics - read the early church fathers, far superior psychonauts, and theological minds than any Buddhist and Hindu monks. The Orthodox theology is so deeply seeped in mysticism, in my opinion much more mature. Surrender and opening up are very important and vulnerable movements of the soul, and if you do it in an unsafe environment it is very dangerous. I know that now.

The speaker has told few times that you are immortal. No doubt, it is very popular statement, as people irrespective of nation and religion to which they belong, wish to live with hope that death is not end. So, the concept of resurrection and reincarnation. After saying lot of things to convince reader about immortality of soul, Gita says, in text 26&27 of chapter 2, even if you think that you are dying and taking birth forever, then also you should not lament on death, as he who takes birth inevitably dies and he who dies inevitably takes birth. In next sloka, text 28, it says, a man was invisible in past, is visible at present and again shall be invisible in future. Then, what is there to lament? Hence, Gita does not equivocally promises immortality of soul, but motivates to face death without fear. This should have been brought out in the speech. Besides, immortality of soul does not mean much in practical sense, as he, who has died, will never come back in same form. Even if he comes back, he will be in some other form, may be as human or some other species. Hence, what is there to rejoice on immortality? Be happy, as you are, what you are.

What an amazing analogy! of water versus wave, at time-line 43.18 in this video, that explains intellectually the concept of "eternal-unchanging" reality versus "temporary-changing" reality. If simply by listening to this analogy intellectually, it makes so much sense; imagine the experiential beauty of this profound spiritual concept when the "eternal-unchanging" reality (same as metaphysical reality) is directly experienced during contemplation or meditation! Thank you Swamiji!🙏

@nc01sadh
@nc01sadh 3 года назад
Summary of the talk. Everything is cause and effect. For example, the wind and storm are the effect but the primary cause of the both is the air. Effect are temporary in nature. All the sufferings, anger, hate and love are the effect but the cause of all of them are "you". So; all the these experience temporarily exist and they disappear. Your real nature is the Brahman, so "you" are the effect and the "Brahman" is the cause. Birth and death is just a temporary existence as a form, and they come and go, so In reality you never die. So, if you had a bad day note to yourself that this a temporary effect and that it will disappear because your real nature is the "brahman" [ the universal absolute aka Christ, Allah, Krishna or what have you]

Adding the points for summary: 1) Entire universe is the effect, the cause of which is the pure existence (which you are. ), Effects are false alone you is the truth. 2) All effects are born and die. 3) All experience in our life has two aspects one having name and form, the second one is the existence itself. 4) Existence is not part of this world, instead, this existence which lends reality to the part of this world. 5) When all objects are destroyed, existence still exist but you can't experience it. 6) World exist in God/Brahman. There is no world in you, you are unlimited pure existence. 7) Practice dwelling in the isness. Sees through name and forms for the real. Thanks

Effect is the outcome of cause which is indispensable but it exists. We can only say it can't exist independent of cause and it may not be a permanent existence but it is not a rule. If the cause is eternal it may or may not applicable to effect. Just a logical comment not more than that.

You take away the clay, the pot will not exist, sure, but you take away the 'shape' , the pot will not exist either. So also, you take away the potter, his tools and his skill, and the pot will not exist. Therefore, the pot is not just essentially clay. The jewellery made of gold is not just gold, it has the shape, the design, the skill and the tools of the goldsmith. Isn't therefore a flaw in Swamiji's basic premise ? Can Brahman be ever recognized without the name and form that embody it ?? What's the point in this exercise in negation, is it only to spruik Shankarite "vivartavada", the world has no real existence, it's an imaginary superimposition on Brahman ?? Didn't Sri Ramakrishna say the world is real because it is a real manifestation of Brahma-Shakti ? This point has been reiterated by Swami Turiyanandaji, also.

Theme of today's talk: You as pure existence. Summary: Major Points: 1. The entire universe is an effect, the cause of which is pure existence, which you are. Effects are false. The pure existence alone is true. Brahaman is true; you are Brahman. 2. All effects are born and then die, coming into existence and going out of existence. Existence comes into them and then goes out of them. None of the existence is intrinsic existence. Therefore, they are false. 3. Each and every one of our experiences, without exception, has two aspects. One aspect is name and form. The other form is existence. In other words, one aspect is the world, and the other aspect is God. You are never experiencing anything without God, literarily. God is available to us in every experience. Just need the eyes to see. 4. Existence is not part of this world. Existence is that which lends reality to the world and all its parts. 5. When all of this is destroyed, when nothing is there, the existence still continues. You just cannot perceive it or experience it. 6. How does this world exist in Brahman? There is no world in you; you are unlimited pure existence. But it appears in you; you are God playing hide and seek with himself, pretending not to be yourself. 7. How do you live life and how do you practice? Practice dwelling in the “isness,” and see through the names and forms in every experience. Others: Chapter 2 Verse 16 is the heart of Bhagavad Gita. “BG2:16: The unreal has never existed. The real always exists. The mysterious truth about both existence and non-existence is directly perceived by those with the eyes to see.”

The word is really longing, not suffering. It's really a pattern of pyschological suffering as a position of envy, jealousy, & comparison of Self to others regardless of status, wealth, fame, beauty, & luck. Comfort in The Self alone as ONE=mc2 is the True Status of Brahman in All of US 🎯👁️🙏☮️🎺🎶🦸🧘.

“Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God” -A course in miracles I love that everyday I awaken my true self guides me. I have learnt over the years that no matter where you look the teaching is always the same .... only the teacher “changes” or is the same in different form.... when you can hear what is being said rather than just listening to what is being or determining value as to who is doing the speaking I realise that the “other” has always been me in different forms or versions of god.

The Bhagavad Gita is a book of idolatry. It breaks the first and second Commandments that God gave (Exodus 20). Messiah Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). You have to go through Him to be saved (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; John 3:16). He is the only Savior (Acts 4:11,12; 1 Timothy 2:5,6). Trust in Him. Call on His name for salvation (Romans 10:13).
