Diggle Diaries: An attempt to film all daylight running freight and interesting workings from Diggle Junction. Situated on the picturesque Trans-Pennine, Manchester to Huddersfield and Leeds route, Diggle Jn lies at the top of a steep incline leading into Standedge Tunnel. Providing beautiful scenery, varied freight and trains working hard up the hill, there aren’t many better places for a bit of trainspotting.

I would love to see shunter shunting old parcel vans at Diggle again, I wished they would reopen Clegg street railway shed in Oldham and shunt parcel vans , I didn’t see much of that when I was a kid , I really missed a lot.

Well noticed mate, it’s not always perfect but can usually get it pretty close. Beats no sound 👍🏻 I could see that 185 coming on traksy, thought a bomb was well on the cards 😂

Hi Luke. I've just stumbled across the fact that in 1923, there was a fatal crash at Diggle Junction. Worth looking up if any of your subscribers are unfamiliar with the incident.

Hi mate, yeah it sounds like it was a pretty bad one from the various bits and bobs you can still find around the web. Put down to driver/signaller error apparently.

Another brilliant vid, thanks! Looks like the electrifcation works are growing larger on each edition of the diary. Seems like a lot of trees/shrubbery have been sacrificed in this edition?

Thanks a lot Phil, there’s been a lot of chopping going on down the other side. I think they’re trying to make the entry road to the yard a bit more suitable for bringing in heavy machinery. Hopefully they at least trim some of the trees in the way of the cam! Haha.

Great stuff, thanks a lot indeed, in Donny yesterday between 08.15 and 12.40 spotted 31 Loco’s helped by the fact, The Drax Traffic as been diverted through, which ends this Sunday, and is going to happen in the summer, for a longer period.

Another cracking video. I've submitted a request to NR asking how they plan to install OHLE outside the back of the terrace to the west of Mossley station. They seem quite amenable so far. Watch this space. :)

Thanks mate, we get a lot because we’re the quickest route between Freightliner’s main East and West depots, lots of other operators use FL’s wheel lathe in Leeds for tyre turning too 👍🏻

@@DiggleJunctionYes the British built our railways, i came from a railway family in the 1980s i used to work for SAR, Most of our Old Steam engines were British build locos, do love the Modern British trains Too! If You want to see trains from my area in south africa, there a chap by the name of Jaco Marais on you tube that make great videos!
