Seems to me the one chick that stayed with mama hen was doing it to keep her company....so she would have at least one chick to stay with her while the other babies stayed with the cat. It was more out of loyalty than anything. But then I might be just projecting my human self onto everything.

The other cats that live together with chicks, usually, cant resist but play occasionally with them in a not exactly delicate way. This is the first cat I see that is totally respectful to the chicks, beautiful and harmonious sight..
