I got there for the first time in memory this past June. What made it wonderful for me was that it’s really like 6 museums or so all in one place: history, aviation, cars, tech, farm machinery, etc.
It's absolutely chilling to stand in front of Lincolns chair and realize the stains on it are his blood and then to tilt your head to look down upon the car where JFK was killed as well.
I highly recommend The Henry Ford Museum. It is one of the best museums I've ever been to. It's a great museum to go with the whole family because there is something for everyone as it covers the interests of kids, moms, dads, etc. I took over 500 pics during my visit, there was that many exhibits
It’s so awesome having you here. Born and raised 20 minutes north of Detroit in Troy Michigan. Detroit gets a bad rep nation wide. It’s nice having someone showcase what we have to offer. Detroit is a hard working city full of amazing people. Thank you Adam!
@@TheDailyWoo Went to Detroit today. Drove by the BK you were at. Lol. Following the Woo! Lol. Sorry I missed ya. Tried to catch ya and tell you about 1375. Perhaps next time!
Lincoln's chair is something I will never forget seeing. I could not wrap my head around it. With Kennedy's car, we've all seen so many pictures and videos of it and it was all cleaned up for the display, but the chair was just chilling. That museum is awesome.
@@wolverinewarlord You don't seem to understand, Adam isn't living in his van, or an RV anymore, where you need to live simply when you are on a budget and have to watch expenses. Adam has put in his hard work for many years to be able to afford to treat himself to better things AND provide content for YOU to watch for free. When you work hard to better your life its your right to live your life how you want to not how others want you to, as he has stated many times. he does what he wants and films his daily life. Have a nice day!
@@floridaman7660 There is a difference between stepping up in life and continuing to (as Adam also USED to say) "BE HUMBLE" vs. going on and on about his first class flight experiences. So, I don't think you understand. In fact, the whole point of what I said went right over your head.
The Henry Ford is an amazingly eclectic museum! I really had thought it was strictly a motor vehicle museum and I had even known there was a Lincoln Mold-A-Rama available, which perplexed me. :) So fascinating! Mind blown.
My Grandfather worked for Ford his entire life. Took me on tours of factories often. I keep a FORD logo in my Studio to remind me of hard work. Thanks for another Ford Tour!
Scott is a Very Good Friend to Have in Your Corner. Scott is so Down to Earth. I Would Cherish His Friendship. The Both of You Make These Videos Great to Watch Over, and Over! You Guys Stay Safe!
I was born and raised in Michigan & remember taking school field trips to the museum back in the 80's/ 90's. Have not lived there since 2011 & it's great to see how it has evolved & grown through the years. So many cool things for the adults and interactive displays for the kids back then & nice to see they still have it now. Thank you!
My friend got married there & during the reception we were allowed to wander around the exhibits. It was really cool because my Grandpa worked for Henry Ford & his mistress. He has a cream dish from Henry Ford’s tea service set that’s been on exhibit there minus the cream dish. I was able to talk to one of the museum curators who confirmed that they know that piece is missing & that my family owns it.
@@kccollier2041 YES! My grandpa was tasked with taking a lot of items to the landfill. At one time he even had Henry Ford’s marriage certificate. He tossed out a framed picture & when it broke, he noticed it had been tucked behind it. We’re not sure what happened to it over the years though, I wish we could find it today.
That tire was a Ferris Wheel at the 1964 World's Fair. You can find pictures of it on google pretty easily. It is kind of amazing how many items seem to link back to that Fair. The Henry Ford Museum is such a great collection of objects. We have a membership to it and it seems like every time we go in we find something new. Greenfield Village next door is also pretty cool (if it's not raining). Henry relocated a bunch of historic buildings from around the country including the Wright Brother's bike shop.
I like the museum. But I like Greenfield Village [More] than the museum! I mean, I can walk inside Thomas Edison's laboratory where he and his workers cranked out all those amazing inventions, I can walk in the Wright brothers' bike shop as mentioned and the home that they grew up in. I can walk in Noah Webster's house (i.e. they guy who put together the Webster's Dictionary, and much more. BTW, the tour of the Ford auto plant nearby is pretty cool too!
@@OrvilleChomer It's not actually Edison's laboratory, it's a replica. But it's so accurate that when Edison visited he looked at something sitting on a bench, pointed somewhere else, and said "that's supposed to be over there". And yes, Greenfield Village is amazing.
It's a blast when you and Scott collaborate! Two guys clowning around!!! Also, the schtick, you play with Scott by always cutting him off at the end of the video.....hilarious! Thanks Adam and Sco.....🤣😂
Adam, You mentioned Jackie crawling onto the trunk a couple times... Don't know if you realize it but, after watching several documentaries on the assassination, she was not crawling on the trunk to help the secret service guy into the car... She was crawling to retrieve a part of her husband's brain that had landed on the trunk... She held on to that and gave it to a surgeon at Parkland hospital after he was pronounced dead... Her getting out and crawling back to get it was just a reflex..
Secret service agent Clint hill is still alive. He’s written great books on serving 5 presidents. He was very close to Jackie. He never got over what happened that day. It was a dark day for our country
Adam and Scott my to favorites for sure! You work well together. Thank you for going to this museum for all of us to see! Fantastic for sure! Your the best Adam, keep up the hard work.your worth it for sure.Scott to he has done some grate videos himself
What’s great about the HF is it’s the origins of things we still use today and from our nation. No disrespect to more ancient, global museums but a visit there always brings a swell of pride in “American Ingenuity.”
There are a lot of great museums in Detroit. The Metro Detroit area is huge. Greenfield Village, on the same property as the Henry Ford, is a really fun sort of living museum. They have really fun events for Halloween and Christmas.
that is such an iconic landmark especially on the way to the airport the Uniroyal tire I actually know the guy who paints it every 3 years! The Henry Ford and Greenfield village puts on a deal for Christmas called Holiday nights of Christmas. This museum is top notch! I always enjoy seeing one of the one of 49 Tucker cars! THANK you for doing this I think this is like comfort food for me! I've been having some rough cat rescue days including the loss of my own 12-year-old cat who grieved himself to death after the loss of my 24-year-old Russian Blue. I need to find my happy place and I think the Henry Ford fits that bill! I can't believe they have an Atari Pong there! The first Christmas that came out we were fortunate to have that! if you're able to stay here a little longer Toledo is only an hour south and there is not only Tony packo's from mash but there's also the spaghetti station and you can have your meal in a trolley car but all the booths are bed steads. The cars are amazing! So much history! The dream Cruise which is on Woodward happens the third Saturday of every August! Coney Islands are also famous for their great breakfast! Saganaki the flaming cheese it's an experience! Thank you for reminding me why I live here!!!!
Hooray! Adam is in Michigan! I took my daughter on a field trip with her school to the Henry Ford earlier this year. It was so cool to see everything, but also chilling to see the Rosa Parks bus, the JFK car, and Lincoln's chair with his blood stains...😬 such history in there Welcome to Michigan!!!
Walt Disney actually came to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village to get ideas for Disneyland. You can see how much this place influenced Walt Disney, especially Greenfield Village.
That museum is amazing! I love that you can actually get on the Rosa Parks' bus. My favorite thing there would have been the Edgar Allan Poe desk. Big fan of him. I probably would have got kicked out for going over the velvet rope to touch the desk
We’re so glad you chose to stop at the Henry Ford. Since moving away 18 years ago, the museum and Greenfield Village are probably the 2 things we miss most about Detroit. I still remember my first visit, a field trip when I was in the 2nd grade. My husband and I would try to visit at least a couple of times a year. Our favorites times to visit were during Halloween and Christmas. The village is decorated for fall with cornstalks and jack o lanterns. At Christmas time, the private homes are decorated for the holidays according to the time period the home is from. You can go ice skating, buy a bag of hot chestnuts and go for a ride in a Model T. It’s probably the best part of Detroit. Since our folks passed away, we haven’t been back. We miss Michigan very much. Thank you for saying nice things about Detroit.
My dad loved this museum remember going with him around 1979 or 1980 and he was on the way out and he pointed to something in the window very old and historic
When I was a child you could sit in Lincoln's chair and the JFK car. The chair used to be in the court house in the Village. Also Walt and Henry were good friends and he used Greenfield Village for Disney parks and the way they were designed. All Coney Island are a bit different and you needed to go downtown Detroit to American Coney Island.
Forgot to mention, I grew up on a street just a short distance from the Uniroyal tire. I could see it from my front yard as a kid and played baseball in the park right next to it. My grandmother rode it when it was a ferris wheel for a very short time.
Adam, really enjoyed your awesome and cool video! That's cool seeing President Kennedy's car, President Lincoln's chair and the other cool things in the museum. Thank you for taking me along with you and Scott! Your chili dogs looked soooooo good. Looking forward to your next awesome vlog. YOU ROCK!!!!!
Hey Adam great video while in Dearborn MI ..The Henry Ford Museum is a great place of interesting nostalgia exhibits..Plus the Big Uniroyal Tire, train, & more..Great day & week.
Fun fact the Dymaxion House was designed by inventor/ philosopher Buckminster Fuller. The same gentleman responsible for the geodesic dome ( as in Epcot Center). He preferred rounded designs as everything in nature has rounded edges.
Wow. That museum was amazing. Thanks for sharing for those of us who will never be able to go and visit the museum or the area. I'm sure there was a lot more that you didn't show. Tears came to my eyes when you were recreating the assassination of President Kennedy. Thank you so much Adam and Scott. You guys are great. Hoping there will be more videos of you two guys together. Ya'll should get together with Tim and have a 3 amigos video. That would be a crazy one. Be safe and Happy Trails.
Love this video, Adam. I love how both you and Scott each had one but somehow, they are still so different from each other's. This museum is awesome!! What a nice job you did taking us on this tour. I really want to see it in person now! Loved the end, that was funny, but I really want to hear the rest of the story haha.
The Henry Ford is really one of the world's great museums. I got to it the first time a year ago and am planning on going back soon. The building itself is interesting, if you look at those big columns with the ridges on them those ridges are actually radiators that were used to heat the building. You also ought to head west to Hickory Corners and the Gilmore Auto Museum. GREAT collection of cars very well presented, plus you can take a class and learn how to drive a Model T. One of the coolest things I've ever done.
The Henry Ford museum has so much interesting historical cars and everything in it. My kind of museum. Fun watching you and Scott. I watch Scott also on his vlog. Love the places you go to. It’s always interesting and entertaining. Thank you Adam and Scott
Both times I was at the Henry Ford (2000 and 2004) I got teary eyed at the Kennedy car and the Lincoln chair. So much history there. You literally need two days there. One day at the museum itself and another day at Greenfield Village to see all the historic buildings and ride the train.
I’ve lived in the Detroit suburbs my whole live and that’s one thing I missed a lot when I lived in Florida and worked at Disney, was Coney Islands! You just can’t get them anywhere else.
Really awesome place here, Adam. Thanx for giving us a glimpse into such an amazing museum. Love your take on it. I watched Scott's take first (no worries - both are great!) - and I really enjoy the differences. So cool to watch the same video twice and walk away with 2 different but same takes on the same subject. Always enjoy watching posts from the Adam Scott Multiverse. It's like a classic Dentyne commercial. These types of posts are so complimentary to each other. You can't have one without the other.....But you can....Uh......Anyway - great post, my friend. Loved it. Until the next one, be safe and Stay Careful. Take care.
The most heartbreaking part is when Jackie climbed onto the trunk....she was trying to pick up the piece of her husband's head that went skittering across the trunk.....watch the Zapruder film and you will see it for yourselves.
Good Morning Adam The Woo And Scott On Tape Enjoying Watching Y'all Video's Together Keep Up Excellent Work Y'all Too Have A Blessed Day Y'all Sincerely Y'all Number 1 Fan's
I know this is several days later than your tribute to Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) but I saw this notice on my Facebook feed and thought it would answer your question as to who places the large wreath on a stand on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the star of someone who has passed. "Flowers will be placed on the Walk of Fame star of Paul Reubens/Pee-Wee Herman today 2 pm at 6562 Hollywood Blvd. flowers are placed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and donated by the Hollywood Historic Trust." Thanks for all you share with us Adam. You always brighten my day.
My 4th grade field trip was two days at the museum. We spent the night in the dorm style room with lots of bunk beds. We ate in different dining rooms. We were able to swim in the pool and we made a tape recording of sounds for movies and radio. In the old days they would use objects to mimicking sounds. It was the best trip we ever took in school. It was near the holidays so everything was decorated. I love seeing it again! Great vlog!!!
I have been to the Henry Ford museum so many times from 1st grade thru 5th as field trips plus Greenfield Village then with parents and cousins countless trips, bringing back memories Adam
Wow, what an amazing museum. Thanks for sharing. My grandmother was born in Dearborn MI in 1913 and recalled seeing Henry Ford a couple times. I need to visit.
To fill in the details on the Giant Tire: it was originally a Ferris wheel at the 1964 Worlds Fair in Queens. It carried 2 million visitors during the fair including Jacqueline Kennedy, Telly Savalas, and the Shah of Iran. It’s been a stationary sign since 1966… but I think if we went there with box cutters and patience we would reopen and run the wheel!
