I would settled for someone chanting "MVP! MVP! MVP!!!" ECW-style but this kid's hype levels give me hope for the rest of humanity to get their shit together
I will comment from Japan. Many Japanese users, including me, were delighted that the Dragon Quest hero was selected as the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate fighter. Some foreign users may have complaints or doubts why this character was chosen, but the dragon quest hero is a character with high popularity and popularity in Japan. We hope that you will be interested in Dragon Quest on this occasion and you will love it. By the way, I can not speak English, I have put the English translation of Japanese on English translation site
I've been calling for a dragon quest character for a little over before smash ultimate came out. The fact that it is very popular in Japan, was just a no brainer for Nintendo to include it. I have my preordered copy of dragon quest 11 for the switch and I'm hoping to enjoy the game. Banjo was completely out of left field, and I never saw that one coming. I'm super happy with the characters they have revealed so far. I'm hoping now for either rayman, resident evil, or ninja gaiden to somehow be included in smash.
Yeah, I can't believe some people are actually disappointed about this. This reveal was so amazing. Dragon Quest is such an important franchise and seeing the protags from 3, 4, 8, and 11 was so mindblowing. I'm surprised at how people outside of Japan still don't know about the importance of Dragon Quest. That final smash is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
@@davidsalazar2077 It was so good, dude. I got so hyped when I saw the 4 and 8 protags, since Erdrick and Luminary were leaked. I yelled out "It's all of them!" from the bathroom lol. Then actually seeing all of them in that final smash was glorious
I looked at it and thought "That's cool I guess". The most experience I had with these guys was through Fortune Street of all games. But I do acknowledge do to the legacy of that franchise I suppose thr inclusion in Smash makes sense. The only Dragon Quest character I know is Angelo and it's certainly for the wrong reasons actually. Let's just say this group on RU-vid who played Fortune Street once probably ruined the character for me. xD
I wish I was there because I would've also been yelling: "ITS THE LUMINARY!!" Also, to the man who knew it was Hero from the horse, You have my respect.
There is some light in this darkness, I could say. Most posts I saw on social media were the same, old “I sleep, real shit” meme. But I also saw a couple of wholesome fan art of Banjo and Hero.
Eh I wouldn't say they care that much. I'm sure there were fans of Dragon Quest there but honestly if they announced a toilet to be in smash everyone would still be hyped
Dragon quest is legitimately my favorite rpg series. I was going nuts when I saw all the protagonist from every other dragon quest appear in the final smash.
I've only gotten my feet wet by playing Dragon Quest 9 on the DS, but I am extremely interested in Dragon Quest 11 on the Switch, and possibly even Dragon Quest 8 on the 3DS. They're great games that any JRPG fan should experience at least once. If you have a 3DS, iirc, you can even play every single mainline game with that alone.
@@zdenshadowdragonbyzideodi8819 tecnically not, even tho we don't have him as a character, toriyama created the dragon quest characters, but that dosen't mean we have goku in the game, and he will never be, we have dragon quest, so we don't have goku in the game, we have toriyama in the game.
@@zdenshadowdragonbyzideodi8819 you Ok? You sound mad, i get it, you are greatfull and all about the dragon quest, if you feel its like goku join smash, that's Fine, but, did you actually needed to write the final part? I mean. For real? Dude got mad?
Dude, you could put a fucking apple on a green-screen with the Smash logo and they'd cheer. They aren't hyped at all, they'll just nut at anything revealed because it's hype and hyping Smash is what cool kids do.
This makes me happy. I lost it when I saw this trailer but was disappointed to see that many fans were somehow disappointed by it, probably because many of them are unfamiliar with the Dragon Quest franchise in general. This is a HUGE deal, and it's great to know that the Nintendo World Store audience appreciated what they saw. Nintendo fans, if you've never played a Dragon Quest game, do yourself a favor and give XI S a chance in September. You could also pick up one of the DS/3DS installments (I'd highly recommend VIII myself) if you want to experience the series sooner.
today pleased both the Japanese fans and the American fans. DQ for Japan because that shit is super popular there....and then we got banjo and that excitement shows how much we still love banjo, and not sure how the Japanese reacted to it but im sure they are happy.
Thank you. I've been looking around for people who actually understand how big of a deal this is. It blows my mind that people were disappointed by this. Best part of the whole Direct for me.
Honestly, I was a bit more bummed out at the Banjo trailer than this. Dragon Quest deserves some proper respect and now it's finally getting it. Things are looking bleak for KH tho oof
*LUMINARY* *NO* *LUMINARY* *NOOOOOO* *DRAGON QUEST ELEVEN* *THE LUMINARY* *WHO IS IT* *THE LUMINARY DRAGON QUEST ELEVEN I CALLED IT* *TRUNKS!!* *I CALLED IT !!!!!!!!!!!*
@@anthonyward2208 Yeah it is. It came out everywhere else last year and Switch is the only one it's not out on. Though, the Switch version will be the best with the orchestrated soundtrack and better support since Nintendo has always loved the series and has been always willing to publish it overseas, no matter how rough its sales got.
this trailer always brings a tear of joy for me. I never thought id see erdrick from dw3 for so long. I had always imagined hed look something like this while playing on the snes. it makes me cry.
What are you talking about dragon quest 11 has sold more than fire emblem treehouse even here in the West. It's a franchise that had no representation besides so it's not that strange
I'm glad they made other skins for just one character, like they did for Bowser Jr. Villager, etc. I mean sure it's all the same character moveset, but I think people in general just appreciate having different character models even if it's one character, rather than just different colored outfits.
Hirogan berries Hence his inclusion. It’s no coincidence a new Dragon Quest trailer was shown directly after Hero’s reveal in smash. It’s a cross promotion, and if rumors are true, this is the byproduct of Cloud’s return in Ultimate. Dragon Quest exposure in Smash was supposedly a bargaining chip on Nintendo’s to ensure Cloud would return.
@Solidus Guerrero That reminds me of that trailer when they revealed Belmont. Luigi had the new poltergust with a plunger to shoot with such hinted Luigi's Mansion 3.
DragonQuest is a franchise I can wholeheartedly respect! Even though I've never played a DragonQuest game...at all. They made their mark in Japan; about time we showed them some more love in the U.S! Plus, I'm a sucker for sword fighting players! So...I'll be giving the Links a bit of a break! What are your thoughts on the franchise? Curious to know.
@@TheInevitableBum lol, no it's not. It's completely overhyped and Akira Toriyama is so revered that they literally made the final boss cell/jiren and nobody dared to tell him otherwise. Somebody also tell that "legendary composer" he ain't shit and needs to put more music in the game. I'm not a hater, I'm a critic who loves JRPGs. Persona 5 won me over, this game did not. Stop blindly falling for trending things you absolute lemming.
I've been curious to try it for a long time. The direct earlier this year got me even more interested, the presentation for square's e3 had me thinking I needed to at least try 11, this inclusion is telling me I have no choice but to try it.
All these lack luster reactions to the main hero’s in dragon quest being in smash I’m glad these guys get it. Dragon quest has so much history to not only Nintendo but japan it was the first jrpg which is why its so popular in Japan. Me personally I’m happy. And will be getting dq 11 for the switch.
see?! this is the reaction that everyone should’ve had. dragon quest is a really important series, and it’s way more popular than banjo in like every country other than the us. people need to stop whining, the hero is hype. (but rip to all my fellow sora supporters lol)
The Dragon Quest games offer little of substance and don't take enough risks from a narrative perspective. For someone that wrote Chrono Trigger, Yuji Hori's take on DQXI was abysmal. The music got old VERY quickly as well. Two stellar games where simply moving the character(s) is more fun than the entirety of a stale franchise is why people for two decades wanted the charming character(s) with a name, rather than a copy paste sword user simply known as "Hero". The opinions of an island of tasteless people who fear innovation and creativity have nothing on a simple yet charming platformer.
@@nothingtoseehere6142 Just so you know I can generalize shit too. Why should anyone care about Banjo? They only had like 2 games and a terrible third game. It was so many years ago. See? Dragon Quest is the OG rpg. It deserves it spot in smash especially how popular it is in japan
@@theexaltedlt8222 highly agree. I don't care for banjo and kazooie's inclusion. Microsoft isn't going to do anything with them anytime soon. Banjo and kazooie only had two good games according to fans, one of you ask me. On top of that they haven't had a new game since 2008 and that game wasn't even a platformer like the other ones. The first is one of my favorite games ever, but nothing about their inclusion is exciting to me. I would bet if banjo and kazooie had never been on a nintendo console, no one would be asking for them. P.S. i bet the same thing for waluigi. I mean who actually cares for him? He's a meme and the core reason people want him is because he's a mario rep. He would bring nothing exciting to the table.
RIP Keyblade guy! I wanted Sora in Smash too, but I had resigned to the fact that he wasn't getting in over a Dragon Quest character, and I'm just exited that Banjo made it in. Plus tbh, The Hero looks pretty cool.
The man right next to the camera absolutely obliterating his vocal chords has ascended to the celestial plane - I’m still dying over this amazing hype clip.
I was actually more excited for Eldrick than Banjo-Kazooie. I wanted that guy in Smash for so long ever since I got into the series and this is just amazing. Richter and Eldrick in the same Smash that has everyone. No longer have the right to request anyone. If they do add another one of my choices this time around, it'd have to be Goemon or Arle. And even if it's the next game, I have no faith either of these characters will make it. Honestly, I feel very happy for Japanese fans. I'm sure they've wanted Dragon Quest in Smash for years. I have too.
I didn’t really want Erdrick but I really did want the Dragon Quest 8 protagonist (red bandana) even though I thought it was impossible... LOL wow I’m happy
Eldrick pretty much is the face of Dragon Quest, since the first three games were centered around him. I already had the feeling there would be alt costumes to represent the other games, but disappointed to find out they omitted the female variants from III and IV.
Everybody is talking about the crowd actually caring but are we just gonna mention that this trailer basically spoiled Galeem’s echo fighter (don’t think could spell it right) at the beginning?
Dragon Quest has a huge presence with Nintendo's earlier game consoles. Even on their more contemporary ones. He's not just a "sword wielding anime character" (a term i've heard slinging around since his announcement). Hero as a DLC character is very reasonable. I'm happy with it. I still want my Viewtiful Joe. I'll never get 'em.
